Sin81
Why is there so many threads about people wanting to kill themselves, I have noticed that over the last fe wmonths when i have been looking at this section there has been hundreds of these threads. WHY????? Why do people feel the need to share this information with us?? Are they telling the truth or do they want attention??? Why do the tell us, rather than their friends that arent a million miles away??? Who cares???? I sayt hat mods should immediatly delete all of these threads, as there is absolutly no reason to them, This is a forum not augony aunt viewtopic.php?p=3956321#3956321 Click here to view my guide to Your Kingdom

Sin81
I see your point, but what kind of person would rest their lives on a bunch of people that they have never met, wont ever meet and could be 4 years old. I am interested to see who many of these threats are real, and how many people really, i mean REALLY want to see these threads . viewtopic.php?p=3956321#3956321 Click here to view my guide to Your Kingdom
gonpost
They feel safe expressing their thoughts/feelings here. Trust me, if you knew how many people think about suicide in real life without you ever knowing...you'd be surprised. The internet's just more open, and people feel safe coming here because they know that someone here might care and the person won't have to deal personally with any unpleasant reactions from people on the forum, unlike real life family members or friends. But yeah, I see your point. The only thing is...would you really want to lock all the threads? (of which there haven't been THAT many lately) Would you want to risk pushing that person over the edge or not giving that last inspirational bit of will to survive? It's a dilemma, in a way... Sumpta
Well, my point of view may sound radical, but I believe there's truth in it. Most of the time, suicides seem to happen "out of the blue". Nobody, not even wives, children, parents,... see it coming. You often hear stories in the line of "yeah, we knew he/she was feeling depressed, but we never could have guessed it was this bad". Most of the time, people who shout out they're contemplating to kill themselves, will not actually do it. They are still communicating, calling out for help, which shows there's still a wish to live. Some people, and to me they are the most lowly kind, use threats of suicide whenever they don't get their way or to draw attention. It's blackmail and it's disgusting. Posting on a board falls in category 2 and 3. In the former, it's a bit sad and it does seem the wrong place for it, if they do it here exclusively (it's different if they also talk to counselors, family, friends at the same time). In the latter, it's plain sad. I myself would encourage to keep these kind of threads away from the boards. None of us are really qualified to help the people with real problems and we shouldn't take the BS from people who seek attention.
Nadril
????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? Ahem.. anyways: In all serriousness I haven't noticed that many topics about the matter, and I don't think any of them were actual *suicidal* topics other than questioning life. indy500fan
That's why I like this other place I go to. When someone makes a suicide post 80% of people will respond with "just kill yourself already lol". 10% of people will be trying to explain to everyone that the poster is just an attention whore, and that they shouldn't even respond. 9% of people will give suggestions and tips on how to commit suicide efficiently. The last 1% is usually a post about a completely unrelated matter.

None of us are really qualified to help the people with real problems and we shouldn't take the BS from people who seek attention. I agree with you 100%. Have you been looking at the "best clues" pictures? A lot of them are attention grabbers with the 3rd age wins. I noticed that some people feel left out and so they'll do anything to get attention, whether positive or negative. A lot of celebrities are going through this phase and also the kids use these celebrities as role-models. You haven't mentioned this but some kids will say that stuff because they get angry for not having their way or something else that's making them mad. I used to feel like that when I was a lot younger that I should kill my self because this isn't going right or my parents hate me. But, that's bull and I don't take that anymore. Also, because parts of the internet have great people, people think it's ok to post how they really feel. If anybody goes through this phase of wanting to kill themselves/attention should talk to friends, family, and most of all God (Yes, I'm a Christian but I will say that anyway). We should euthanize anyone who lacks the capability to contribute to society in any way. Please don't elect this man for president in 2012
Bubsa
I, personally, love reading suicide threads. Controversial, you may think, but consider this: You are reading a piece of prose so desperate, so needing for attention, that it has its own comical value. Then, you get the replies. Some are flaming, which are funny. Some are sympathetic, which are even funnier, because they are seriously trying to help some poor person with ADD. People who really want to kill themselves don't ask an internet forum, spawned by one of the most God-forsaken games of all time, for permission first. People who can be abused for a good laugh, however, do. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Abyssalwhip
It's just idiots who want attention, they say they'll kill themselves and then you see them posting on the forums the next day. Back from the dead to spam us? Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that..... Continuum
Ya'know, not everyone commits suicide because they're depressed. The majority of them do, sure. I've considered suicide out of curiosity. But then there's that whole "You'll burn in Hell if you kill yourself" rule. Shoot. Guess God will take me when He's ready for me. Thats a bit rude, don't you think? =\ And anyway, even if the people don't really plan on killing themselves, its people like you that make them do it anyway... If anybody goes through this phase of wanting to kill themselves/attention should talk to friends, family, and most of all God 1. MOST people that try to/do kill themselves don't have many good friends that they can share this stuff with, and they're parents don't give a [bleep] if the kids live or die anyway! My parents were more concerned about the hospital bill than they where about me... 2. God doesn't exist. Have a nice day. And ignore the spelling errors. Not rude at all. They just do it to seek attention. The ones who actually do commit suicide wouldn't post on a message board first. And if they do end up killing themselves, good riddance. They usually are complaining about something really stupid like breaking up with their girlfriend/boyfriend. Less of those people = less complaining about stupid stuff. vixjade
Usually it's the ones that shout about it that do not do it. It is just a cry for help. 'Real' suicides are usually a complete shock and suprise to friends and family as they had no idea that the person was that unhappy. Anyone truly feeling suicidal should see their GP/Doctor not suffer in silence. Posting on a forum is an emotional outlet I guess, and a cry for help that needs medical attention or just a shoulder to cry on.

Well are they not writing to the friends they don't have by posting on here? And no I couldn't care for someone posting suicide things on a message board. If you're going to do it then you would, rather than asking for attention on a board full of highly critical people that do not know you. SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.
