August 19, 200718 yr Just got back from Anfield...anyone reckon that ref took a bribe at half time...? Typical Chelsea though...cheat, cheat, cheat...I loathe their fans, manager, rent boy players...everything about them...The sooner the Russian pulls the plug the better...hopefully they go the way of Leeds... muppet, though in agreement, wtf is up with styles? goodbye to him .
August 19, 200718 yr Argh, Lehmann screws up again :x I'm surprised the arse gave him a new contract, he makes so many mistakes its unreal. Almunia is a better keeper and i think they signed some young guy to take his place next season. 3 points on saturday for the mighty spurs, its funny how the press hasn't pointed out that lennon, king, dawson, and bale have been injured and now tainio, berbatov and kaboul whilst spurs were slated. A result against man united is on the cards because they simply dont have a big man up front when they can't pass through a side. Then its the north london derby, we've come so close in the last seasons and i think we'll win this time, if we can get dawson back in the side and king we'll be much stronger, and lennon would provide some width = top 4 for the spurs. Just got back from Anfield...anyone reckon that ref took a bribe at half time...? Typical Chelsea though...cheat, cheat, cheat...I loathe their fans, manager, rent boy players...everything about them...The sooner the Russian pulls the plug the better...hopefully they go the way of Leeds... Its not Chelski's fault the ref is an idiot, he wasn't bias as well, he sorta sent off essien too with the old double yellow card and no red. And commenting on a team cheating, i think you have it mixed up with man united, they bribed the ref throughout the 90's, the record of 99% decisions going man uniteds way still exists today. (anyone remember the mendez goal vs man united for spurs) :?

August 20, 200718 yr So Manchester City tops the table... is Sven the real deal? Seems like he's made several effective signings as of now.
August 22, 200718 yr Got back from ma jollies yesterday to see Man Ure in 16th with 2 points from 3 games and lost to city...feed the goat! =D> I know its only 3 games in but they have loads of work to do. And it's even better that Rooney is out for 2 months since he doesn't play for England anyway. :P Also Leeds with a 100% record so far. I know why they got a 15 point deduction now, just to make it fair to the rest of the league :D .
August 22, 200718 yr Sven was waaayyyy underrated when he was England manager, we weren't fretting about qualifying for Euro 2004 were we? Quarter finals in World cup aren't that bad either. Proud Retired Council of The GladiatiorzClick here for our website - 110+ F2P Combat Requirements
August 22, 200718 yr Sven was waaayyyy underrated when he was England manager, we weren't fretting about qualifying for Euro 2004 were we? Quarter finals in World cup aren't that bad either. Well, the thing with Sven is that hes a good club coach, he demonstrated that with some big appointments at big clubs. Being the england manager is completely different to club football because you can't go out and buy someone to help your team, international football is ridiculously defensive as well, teams just defend against england and when england doesn't win 6-0 its a "crisis". (proof would be greece winning euro 2004, they defended and caught teams on the break). I don't know why english supporters have such high hopes for a country that hasn't won a tournament in over 40 years and gets technically outplayed by continental sides. England will never be as good as everyone wants them to be and they blamed that on Sven when he couldnt wave the magic wand and win the world cup. I fully expect Sven to pull City up the league, he was a massive catch for a team that isn't particularly good, and with their new investor i can see europe for them in a few seasons. Although Sven seems to be unable to completely change a game if his team is losing he knows a good player and even buying a load of players no one has heard of have come up trumps (early days but still).
August 22, 200718 yr What England needs is to play like a team. The spirit and morale within each other must be abysmal. With all due respect to Sven, he could never hold an audience or raise spirits patriotically. McClaren? He's even worse in that regard (and every other regard). These guys kick seven bells out of each other one week and are meant to pull together for the shirt the next. To do that, they need a leader. An ice-man for a Swede wasn't one, a captain who bullies referees and gets away with serious foul play isn't one, a man who fixes his teeth for the media isn't one. Technically and physically there's no reason wahtsover for England not to be on par or exceeding their peers. Mentally, however, they're so far behind it's comical. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
August 22, 200718 yr Thats pretty much what Jens Lehmann said about England - that they haven't been successful because they're not mentally tough enough. He has a point though look at Englands squad as individuals, as much as it pains me as a Scot to say, on an individual basis England has the best starting 11 in Europe but yet they can't do the business when it matters. I think thats the reason why England have never won a penalty shootout in a competative tournament, it's like all belief disappears. I don't think it's a problem of not having the leaders on the pitch because I think you've had plenty since 66 (Butcher, Pearce, Gerrard, Adams etc.) I reckon a big part of it is the media and fans expecting too much. Before every tournament all you hear is "will this be the one?" and "England can do it this time." The best example of these over-expectations was highlighted before the last world cup when it was discovered that England was the only nation to have pre-arranged their world cup celebrations in the event that they won. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
August 22, 200718 yr I watched the Reading vs. Everton game last Saturday. I don't know too much about football but early on I liked Stephen Hunt's hustle - always chasing after plays that were likely to be busts; he was rewarded with a goal! I love the players that hustle and outplay their own skill level...

I don't think it's a problem of not having the leaders on the pitch because I think you've had plenty since 66 (Butcher, Pearce, Gerrard, Adams etc.) The difference between their times and now was that they were leaders, but there wasn't enough quality around the park. Now, it is the opposite. The problem now is much easier to rectify as you don't have to wait for another generation. I watched the Reading vs. Everton game last Saturday. I love the players that hustle and outplay their own skill level... Perhaps you'll be less fond of Mr. Hunt after seeing him physically assault and perform GBH and Petr Cech. I don't care what anyone says - given his history and the way the replays clearly show him lowering his knee to Cech's skull just before impact, and making no attempt to hurdle the keeper, Hunt meant everything. It makes me sick how he can be considered a professional and paid a yearly wage every week. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
August 22, 200718 yr I cant wait till the bengals start the season!  --Quit--(As of December 22th, 2007)

August 24, 200718 yr They say this is the worst start to the season that Man U have had in 15 years. They've only drew one and lost one!!
August 24, 200718 yr And yet, they've played three times :-k This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
August 25, 200718 yr I'd love them to crash and burn as much as the next person but im not getting my hopes up just yet, as last time they had the same start they went on to win the league. Still, I think as long as Saha remains injured/useless and Rooney is injured, hopefully they can drop a few more points. Forest tomorrow for Leeds. Which fallen giant will come out on top? Wise has been gobbing off to the media again but thats expected now. He can do what he likes as long as we're winning.
August 25, 200718 yr Kenwyne Jones has gone on a one person strike, he has refused to play against Stoke today. I cant see why we didnt accept the 5million we were offered for him in the first place. www.PETAkillsanimals.com
August 25, 200718 yr They say this is the worst start to the season that Man U have had in 15 years. They've only drew one and lost one!! didn't they draw to city too? #-o , they need some serious help in the backfield.......get rio ferdinand the hell off the pitch
August 25, 200718 yr they need some serious help in the backfield.......get rio ferdinand the hell off the pitchAt the moment, they're creating chances but can't finish them. Dunno how getting Rio off the pitch will help..or you mean he has such a bad influence on the team that they can't score now, lol. :-k Thanks to WithTheQuickness for the sig!

August 26, 200718 yr And yet, they've played three times :-k So thats where the extra point came from #-o Oh, and by the way its four games they've played now. P.S: Congrats on your 12,000th post Bubsa :
