I liked it. :-s The only thing I'm worried about is when I'm pking and I need to turn run on. I'll prolly hit the wrong icon or if I do hit the right one the buttom is tiny. I might misclick. :ohnoes:

You don't have to press the little button, anywhere on the run icon will switch your mode.

You can also just hold control and click places to run to there

Has it always been like that?

no it wasnt! on the emote list there was a nice big button that was easy access to run. now its a small, (about twice "O" that size) unaccessable button tucked away on the upper left hand corner of the options menu! :x

and ur right again! its WAY to childish! those people acting on the emote page, and the level numbers are orange! :ohnoes: (lol yeah its a small update but hurts all the same  )

i wish we could do something.... :|

I LOVE this place. Where else can you find idiots of such a magnatude as Tip.it?! The main benefit is: you know who played RS1 and who didn't.

Those that played RS1: Generally accept the new update, and appreciate the work Jagex put into it.

Those that haven't played RS1: Hate the new update, and are even QUITTING over it!

You guys need to get over yourselves. Why should Jagex care about you? Why should they even listen to what you say? They don't have to update weekly, they don't even have to do it at all! They are making so much money off of just the advertisements alone that they don't need your "business" to keep afloat. This is exactly how the community was when RS2 came out. Everyone was so excited before the update, but once the beta came out, people FLIPPED! This is funny as hell, it really is. I can now sit back and watch as you RS2 Products are running around like chickens with their heads cut off just because you don't have the mental capacity to learn that holding "Ctrl" and clicking will allow you to run. Haven't you ever read the Controls page on RuneScape.com? I guess you're just too focused on yourselves to even think that there might be something else to it.

Summary: RS2 Products are hilarious, and thicker than any kind of analogy I can come up with.

To run press CTRL + CLICK. Look on the bright side: Jagex is trying!

When you're following someone, control-clicking is USELESS. You follow at run speed VERY BRIEFLY, and then it stutters out... Worse, you need to be able to SEE how heavy you are as you hit the run option so you can NOTIFY the guy you're following so he WON'T run too far on you.

Just figured I should point this out... :!:

Well if it's bad for you it's bad for everyone, but good for abyssal runners.

I don't see how it works out for abyssal runners. :-k

I think the only people that like this update are 9-years-old or younger.

guhh! mabye not but......*guh* there just horrible. the run is put in the tools section!

They could possibly put it on the border of the inventory since its used all the time.

I also think the dance emotes are cheesey as hell. Seriously, it looks like a fisher-price thing now.

I think the new graphics is great! You just have to get used to them, and then you will see that they are really good. The thing is probalby that you don't like changes...But think like this then: Without changes, the world would always be the same! How would you like that?

I like the up-close view of my character alot (OMG!!! Is my hat really THAT ugly?!?) But the graphics are weird and stuff is moved about so much that I can hardly even see where to click for the right menu for the weight I'm carrying and what bonuses I would be best-off in a fight using.

You definitely took a lot of what people said far out of context.

Some have gripes with the new area sounds, sure... Some like quiet. I can't blame them, but quiet drives me mad and gives me nightmares.

Some have gripes with the new areas, and in-game graphics like the rocks... I have to admit, it will now be far harder to talk people into playing because the mining rocks are becoming far harder to see what they are on the fly when you don't have much time. Heck, I hate how narrow the colors have become and how hard they are to notice.

But the big one with this whole mess has been the control interface being changed to "ALL KIDDIE GRAPHICS" (OMG... did I just say that phrase? ...) and made near impossible for those who are older who need speed, control, and flexibility all at once to use the interface. Especially those who rotate combat modes like mad. (Sadly, I'm included in that group  ..., but that group is not a minority...) I feel like I walked into a ball pool by accident that I couldn't swim out of. :-X -.- *drowns*

The experiences I note here echo how many others feel about this.

Personally, the only one I have true real trouble with is the control interface. I can get used to the rest, even though I could wish for more color bands on the rocks.

I disliked some of the new graphics... That's my point of view as a web developer:

For me, the main problem in this new interface is that it uses icons INSTEAD of words. Icons are cool, but sometimes confusing. An example: a "telephone" icon in a corporate website could lead to its "contacts" section, or it could be a link to the section showing the telephone models made by that corp. If it's badly positioned in a main menu this icon could easily cause some confusion (i.e. many people expect the "contacts" link to be the last item in a website menu).

To avoid such situations we often use text along with icons. People may get diferent ideas about the meaning of a given icon, depending on the context where it is found.

But words are much easier for us to handle. We can easily look to a single word and aprehend its meaning, in a fraction of a second. In my point of view, the only problem with the old RS interface was the small font size. They could have used smaller icons in combination with the words, instead of replacing them. Using the interface would become more intuitive.

But, i liked the new visualization of equipment status, that was a positive change. Readability is much better now, its easy to see the differences in eqp. changes.

Now a bit of personal avaliation: i think the style of the icons dosn't match with the visual style of the interface, and then the final result looks a bit weird! To balance this, they could change icons for all items we use... Or reformulate the interface backgrounds. But i dont think people playing RS are too much worried about cute interfaces, because, lets agree, RS graphics never was really something amazing and ppl play it anyway! :D

Wow, I just have to say a few things...

99% of people ages 13-16 can work a DVD player, only 45% of them can boil an egg.

I reckon everyone who says they dislike it are that 55%! I am 13, I am mature and at straight A's at A level standard. Please do not say things like, 'Shut up lol kiddie! You don't know a thing' because I can prove that people don't read. How to do things are splayed out ALL OVER THE KNOWLEDGE BASE!

Now the graphics update...

Combat Interface:

People always say, that it is bad, people are always going on defence where strength used to be. Well, if people would use common sense then this wouldn't happen. 'OMG I CANNOT PK NOW!!! I HAVE 9 DEFENCE!!!' How immature, does anyone realise that the best pkers are 10-30 defence, and some even have 60-70 defence? Wake up! Now, they say they just don't pk anymore because of this...why not use have some logic and practice it! Maybe castlewars or pest control?

Stats:

OK, I agree, the orange is a bit pukeish, but just get uesd to it. Combat moved to the combat interface, people complained, do I hear complaining about it? No...It just requires some getting used to.

Equipment Setup:

Ok, you have to see your weight, Jagex could easily fix that, but the rest of it. Why would you need to see your stats halfway through combat anyway...I have watched many PK videos and I haven't seen them go to that unless they equip items. It is quite handy for trips, what to wear for it etc.

Emotes:

Just get used to it. Now all the Accept aid and split chat have been moved to one place, it is more handy, because you might want to run and take accept aid off. EASY, it's now in one place. The emotes are better IMO.

Tools:

'OMG I cannot pk the run button is too small! I cnanot click that itsy bitsy little circle!' You don't have to, you can click anywhere on it, your energy, the little man, IT'S ACUTALLY A BIGGER BUTTON THAN BEFORE! But you might go onto emotes page, Wow, you might actually have to do 1 whole click extra  Also, you can hold down CTRL + click somewhere, you will run.

This is just my view. Just use logic, have some common sense, and get used to it!

I personally like the whole narrow colours on the rocks, if they were huge like they used to be, would that be real? are rocks always glowing what ore they contain in real life?.... No they are not, jagex is trying to make this part of the game more relistic and, why do you think they have the prospect option there? for people to use it once, memorize the rock colour and ore, and than just forget about it?

That is my opinion in this situation.
