Version 1 Version 2 Version 3 Ok I just remade my sig to make it look a bit more graffiti like. If anyone flames me for "ripping images" then I will personally track you down and set fire to your computer for being such a pleb. Source pics used: Underground symbol used as a guide (not used in final piece, I redrew the sign myself) Brick wall for background Darwin fish logo Chitty bang bang the musical poster I tried to get it to look like it has been sprayed on but it still looks pretty crap. If i drew the brick in the background and the darwin fish then it would be pixel and not the style of sig i was attempting to achieve. The background doesn't look like a brick wall. I didn'y know until I looked and the picture. Yeah I tried to get it to look like how the Underground walls are like. Kinda dirty cream walls. You can see what they look like in this image. I tried to manipulate the wall quite a bit. Warped it a bit flatter and significantly changed the colours. Could do with darkening the grout tho. What do you think? What makes it not look like a wall? And the text is kinda hard to read even though it is grafitti. :wink: Thats why i posted this. I want tips on how to make it better. Saying its hard to read doesnt help. How is it hard to read? What bits are bad? What bits are good? Colour choice? etc... I would really apreciate proper comments on this post. I very rarely post any of my work and i certainly don't do it to show off I only posted ot get comments on how to improve. Chris Posted August 5, 2005 Share Posted August 5, 2005 I know nothing about sigs so bare with me... Kinda apparent of my ripped image from Google and some basic text in fireworks... Also I just got up so I'm like... Dead. Or at least feel like it... The bricks need to me emphasized a bit more you've used that really weird cream colour for the cement, try and get a slightly darker shade to bring them out a bit. If you wanted to go for a graffiti style you need more randomness, like maybe mix some of the bricks/cement different shades etc. The actual Mercifull looks pretty damn good, but atm it hurts like smeg, it's like 3D. I don't have 3D glasses though so I can't check. Try making it less 3Dish and more graffiti'sh... Yeah that's my word ©2000 and something Me. Anyway you might want to experiment with more colours. The #dw mafia bit, use another font... I like it how it is, but to make the whole sig's theme a bit more graffiti'sh (I can do this all day), you need to change it. It's just too grungy for graffiti, maybe remove the random lines (I know it's in the font) or just find another graffiti style font. The fish, yeah well I don't think many people draw fishes on walls like that, so I can't compare it. Ugh sneezing, I hate colds. The "We are not afraid" rail thingy, if you layered it on alpha it a little to try and get the lines of the brick wall on it a bit more. As if it was drawn on, instead of stamped on. I lightened up parts of the wall and changed the contrast a bit to make it look more like the actual tube walls. I also made part of the wall dirty and uncleaned. I changed the colours of the "Mercifull" and the font of the "#dwm" I also drew the underground logo this time instead of manipulating an image of one. It think i'd be pretty awsome if you make the bricks more appreant and then add the texture of the bricks to the letters, like those lines seperating each brick. I think it would look more realistic if you make some imperfections.. Like (if you keep the poster) some tears in the poster, faded colours, etc.. Dirt on the wall.. Also, it has been said before, I think it would look good if you would make the "We're not afraid" thing semi-see-through.. So the brick texture comes through a bit..
