~Socc's Guide To starting the barrows~

Socc

Recommended Posts

I have a very effective way of doing barrows, (rubss recently gained g spear after less than 10 trips =p)

~Requirements~

60 + magic

43 + prayer

50 + range

59 + health

Having completed the following quests:

Nature Spirit

Priest in peril

Ghosts ahoy

In aid of the myreaque*

* is optional

~The Setup~

The Armour is simple-

armour9af.png

Rune plate - This provides excelent defence against torag, who hardly ever hit's with out prayer, and provides defence in the tunnels.

Dragon Hide chaps - These help with ranging ahrim, use your best kind of d hide possible.

Mystic Gloves*, Hat, and boots - these help gain back the mage bonus lost from the rune plate and d hide chaps.

Guth book or Zam book - This gives mage bonus, and melee bonuses useful.

Rune arrows - These are useful for killing ahrim, they hit high and oftenly.

God Cape - This gives useful mage bonus for killing the brothers

Glory ammy - This gives, as i have said for other things, mage and melee bonuses

~The Inventory~

inventory7mi.png

Ectophial - quick teleport out if needed, or easy way back to canifs bank

Deaths and airs - These are for casting fire blast, a very effective spell on the brothers

Laws and earths - are for teleporting to either your house, or lumby to recharge prayer.

Prayer Potions - These are for recharing prayer when it hits 10 or under

Spade - This is the most important item for barrows, it is required to get into the crypts, and to the chest.

Food - This is a nutritious snack to keep your spirits high in hopes of getting Barrows armour, or its just used for eating when you get hit by torag and in the tunnels

~How to get there~

There are two ways to get to the barrows, Through the swamps of mort myre or through the in aid of the myreaque short cut. Heres one of tip.its maps:

mapthere4ye.png

Thanks tip.it you ownzorz!

~What to do~

When you first arrive here you must know whos in what crypt!

barrowsmap3xo.png

The order you must kill them in for the most effective approach is, make sure you follow the directions for each too =p

1. Dhorack (make sure you pray)

2. Verac (pray)

3. Guthan (pray)

4. Karil (pray)

5. Torag (dont pray)

6. Ahrim (swap to mage bow and pray)

One of these brothers will be your "Tunnel brother"

Heres a tunnel map

tunnelmap4mp.png

Your tunnel brother will be how you get into the tunnel area with the chest. After you have killed 5 of the brothers go to your tunnel brothers crypt and enter. Down there find the room with the blood worms(i find these the easiest to kill, and they dont hit too often), get your kc up to 24, then proceed to find your way into the chest room.

When you find your chest door you will have to answer a puzzle to get in, heres a list of answers from the tip.it home page

puzzle answers

When you get to the chest search it(Make sure you dont double click!), your brother will pop out, kill him click the chest again, and the tele out or go back up into the mounds ofor another go!

Maybe if your lucky you will get this

or this

Have fun barrowsing

Lobsters are competent for healing on, i normally finish my inventory of 12 lobbies or have a couple to spare at the end. I prefer monkfish though. It's just i want to use these lobsters up.

My guide ownz it :P

Signature3.gif

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

You just trying to show off your Guthan Spear....

Nice layout....

You can also use House Tele tablets. Save spots for Laws,Earths and Ecto.

It's single click tele ((We all like that))

At home, Pray at alter.

Set up a Caniff tele or have your house located in caniff..

soz if doesnt make too much sense... was up too late last night

A few guys love the tablets, so i would suggest that to be included (needs a high construction level to make them yourself though)

you could buy them, but right now they are a tad bit expensive. if one has the con level or has the access to the tome, it is strongly adviced.

You should add the no prayer or magic required method. If you wear full veracs, glory or fury ammy, slayer gloves, cape (legends or fire), ring of life, and about 150 rune arrows. Then have an inventory of whip, drag hides (chaps and top only), shield (above rune), and a load of lobbies (one trip), monkfish (1-2), or sharks (2-3 trips). I use that and just bank at burge de rott. If your really worried bring on 4 dose prayer pot, but you wont need it. The verac's also is great in the tunnels and i can get 30 kill count on my last trip by just hanging out in the tunnels. You may spend about 30-45k max on one trip but you will always break even. With magic you have to buy pots, runes, and food.

1. Verac set is only for high levels, for lower levels you still need to pot to verac them efficiently.

2. Magic Dart is the spell to use, because it breaks even with the chest (as long as you have around 10 kc), thus runes is not a problem there. Prayer pots isnt not too hard to buy in large quantities (100 lasts quite a while).

It's a nice guide. It kinda seems like a slightly modified version of some other guides, but good for low levels and beginners. I still prefer my method. I only use up 2 doses of prayer pot usually. On a bad run I may use up to 4.

Someone mentioned the method where you take veracs. I have no faith in that method ever since I stumbled across a verac helm and flail in Dharok's tomb. And I remembered that the only person I saw doing Barrows with Veracs at that time was a lvl 113.
