It's a nice guide. It kinda seems like a slightly modified version of some other guides, but good for low levels and beginners. I still prefer my method. I only use up 2 doses of prayer pot usually. On a bad run I may use up to 4.

 

 

 

Someone mentioned the method where you take veracs. I have no faith in that method ever since I stumbled across a verac helm and flail in Dharok's tomb. And I remembered that the only person I saw doing Barrows with Veracs at that time was a lvl 113.

 

 

 

113? that sounds farmiliar..., he may have lagged though, since it is usually the cause of death in barrows in dharok tunnels. It isnt its unreliable, there are lapses in people's attention that lead to deaths like these (i died against torag for the record)

 

 

 

Verac barrowing is pretty effective because you can just bring pray pots and rampage through the brothers.

You mihgt want to make it clear whether this guide is for high or low levels, because from what I can see, you're only opening the chest once per trip, so this is probably a low level guide. It's not very efficient as you are teleing every time, so trips per hour will be low and rewards will be low. Also you are really just posting another method to doing barrows, but you are also re-explaining tip.it's guide for barrows, do one or the other, not both.

 

Still, wish I could get a guthans spear, 300+ trips of 30 kill count and guthans helm is my best item, maybe verac helm, can't remember which is worth more. :( Can't complain though.

get a 25 kc

20 kill count almost guarentees blood and rack drops, therefore you can make some money off the bloods and the racks (what i call R&R, runes 'n racks) so your runs wont be totally dry. Though it is up to you to find the best balance (speed and drop rates), so dont stick to a attack plan too rigorously, experiment a little bit and it may take you far.

Maybe. It would explain why there were a ton of sharks and some pray pots in the pile. No empty vials though. So... Hmm.. Perplexing. I'm just gonna keep using my method.

Rofl you don't need to be that high lvl to use veracs. Yeah and to all those who say you break even on runes don't forget the money spent alone on pots. With the tunnel effect draining 10-20 of your points each brother. Thats 1 3 dose a brother so roughly 35-42k one trip. Repairs are cheap too, after 10 trips i was still at 100 and only cost 60k to fix to full. But it's also a choice of preference(jesus spelling on that?). The only real risk is a d/c or lag (this is when you can use p pots if your worried). I use both methods though, i just like powering the melee brothers :D :D

a good way to save prayer pots, is when fighting ahrim dont drink any prayer pots, cause wearing d-hides he rarely hits at all of above a 5, so u can just pray until it runs out, and also i would add not to drink pray pots b4 going in tunnel, u should drink em when the brother appears

i would switch out 2 food items for rune legs and dhide plate because most ppl wont use that much food and it makes it go slightly faster

 

 

 

and if anyone has a guide to usin verac on brothers i would love to see it

Another Tip :

 

 

 

If you did not encounter a brother until you come to a chest (and it hasnt appeared), switch to your prayer outfit, and drink the pot ONLY when a face of a brother you massacred earlier appears. this way you have the maximum amount of time for the same dose of prayer. You dont want to drink a dose only be drained by 13 because Verac's Helm popped up...

 

 

 

Oh yeah, there is also something worth noting.

 

 

 

The prayer drain frequency is the same regardless of the number of brothers you kill, however the drain strength is very simple : 8 + (number of brothers you have killed this trip). So if you have killed 3 brothers, each time a face shows up, its 11 out of your prayer, etc. There is about 5 spell casts between the drains.

d scim is for getting kc up in tunnels, you want anything bewtween 11 and 25 kc before opening chest

Rofl, I'm guessing you havn't tried that method long. Even in Black Hide, and Ahrims Hood, and Fury ammy with 74 Defense and 88 Mage Ahrim can hit quite hard periodically. The odd thing about him though is that I either have a fight with him where he never hits me at all, or I get barrages of 20's nonstop. He's a strange fellow that Ahrim.

Okay, what? 35-42k per trip on pots? What, do Prayer Pots give you a high or something so you chug a few gallons of them every trip? Work on your methods, you're paying a bit too much per trip :wink: .

 

 

 

I'm only lvl 95 and 58 Prayer (but 88 Mage :? , may not help my case) and I generally use 0-3 doses a trip, along with 8 or so lobs (No pray on Ahrim, Guthan, Torag, lose a lob or two on 15Kc). It really isn't too hard to find cheaper ways of going about Barrowing, just experiment a bit :mrgreen: .

 

 

 

Chen got it right- I was about to post it lol. 8 + n = Pd, n being the number of brother killed and Pd being, well duh, Prayer drain. I've always wondered though, do doubles affect this equation?

Ahrim is also possible to kill without prayer at higher levels, last 50 trips or so i've been useing a whip with hides (no prayer) and it doesn't work too bad (bow would be better, i'm to lazy to get arrows :) ).

hmmm, i dont get why u bring so much food, i mean i take around 5 sharks and usually waste just 2 of them, and i wear monk robes in tunnels(d hide whn going against ahrim)

Nice guide,but its pretty much the exact same as any other.

Socc, what you should add is that just when you get to the no-prayer brothers (Guthan, Ahrim and Torag), use your remaining prayer on the brother that you feel least comfortable about. I always use my left over for ahrim, he still hits me 20's fairly often (half my monkfish is burnt by him thanks!). It is bad to see prayer go to waste.

Ahrim is easy to kill without prayer if you're over 75 range with rune arrows. I usually do like this:

 

Full prayer. Kill dharok, use leftovers on Guthan. Kill Torag without pray, then Ahrim. Then pot up and kill Verac & Karil :)
