Family worries over " security to much . "

Hi,

For most of you, going out daily with your friends is common, all you have to do is tell you parents I'll be back, call me if you need anything. Correct?

For me, it's different. I Personally, live in a VERY SAFE place in Canada. Yet, my parents are still scared, something will happen to mean, sometimes its SCARY how SCARED they are! I am 15 soon, and pretty grown up. If i'm outside past dark time, they would honestly call the cops if I'm 10 minutes late+, and want an amber alert! What can i do to possibly make them losen up. I want to go out with my firends, and i do about once a week but that's only because i LIE to them, telling them i'm going biking or something. My bro, 22, is aloud going out till lik 4 am , etc,but I'm not waiting another 7years for that.

Any advice? Friends always doing stuff, and IM NOT.

Thanks

-> Are any of your parents like that

-> Any advice?

Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.

Move in with your girlfriend.

If you don't have one - get one then do the first part :ohnoes:

Seriously though, I don't think there's much chance of them loosening up unless you can convince them that their "protective nature" is going to turn you into a recluse and do more damage than good if they make you scared of society.

It took me a hospital incident, a night unconcious in a bus stop and a whole heap of last-minute work to graduate from school to be able to stay out past 11.

count yourself lucky. ;)

Hah! you think you're overprotected? and you STILL get to do something with friends once a week? ive gone months and months without doing something with friends. and even then i ask and my parents dont say yes. better yet, im six miles from anything so i cant do anything as it is. even if i do do something with my friends i cant stay out past eight.MY SOCIAL LIFE SUCKS! but im not afraid of society or the world or what not, thats what school is for. i also live in a very safe place cause i have no neighbors or anything to hurt me. and then people ask me why all i do is play computers. Well i cant do anything outside, the roads are dirt, there is no grass, and the only thing out there is sagebrush. fun fun fun

Never take life too seriously, nobody gets out alive.

Somehow you have to gain their trust. The only advice I have for you is for them to get to know your friends and trust them enough. Another piece of advice is to try to go out with a lot of friends, maybe that will do the trick because they will think its safer.

Why o_O? It's a sig... chill.

Parents can be overprotective, but that's just because they're too scared of losing you, and nothing is going to change that.

Haha, looks like you're screwed until you're 18 :P .

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Make your parents happy (clean up, wash the dishes I dunno) and then ask them if you could go out. Always works for me. :)

Your brother is an adult, you are a child. They are right to be worried. Think yourself lucky you have parents that care about you.
