March 13, 201016 yr Hello Everyone, I recently just purchased a Macbook Pro, and after awhile of messing around with it, I noticed that it doesn't have a default photoshop or picture editing program (unless I'm missing it somewhere  ). So, my question is this: Does anyone know of a free or relatively cheap, yet decent, picture editing program that is compatible with Macbook's? Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance Proudly achieved 99 fletching before the 'string x' optionProudly achieved 99 firemaking before the Grand Exchange was introducedCall me crazy but I alched all the way to 99 magic
March 13, 201016 yr http://www.gimp.org/ I've been using it for years. Some of us don't have $9001 to spend on a high-class paint program. *edit*I forgot to add that it's a really nice program, and it's open source.
March 13, 201016 yr Photoshop is not default anywhere, seeing as it's a separate piece of software that costs around 800$. I second Dirkmetal's post, I've used it for a long time too.
March 13, 201016 yr ill also recommend gimp. very powerfull considering its free. Whipped up this sig (nothign special i know) in a couple minutes
March 13, 201016 yr Author All right thanks for the help everyone, I'm going to give gimp a try and see how it works out Proudly achieved 99 fletching before the 'string x' optionProudly achieved 99 firemaking before the Grand Exchange was introducedCall me crazy but I alched all the way to 99 magic
March 14, 201016 yr GIMP isn't very complicated by any means, but if you'd like to give something else a try, you can look into Paint.net - http://www.getpaint.net/
March 14, 201016 yr Or if you want to spend a bit, you could get Photoshop Elements for $80. I use it, it works great. 8,325th to 99 Firemaking 3/9/08 | 44,811th to 99 Cooking 7/16/084,968th to 99 Farming 10/9/09 | Runescaper August 2005-March 2010Tip.it Mod Feb. 2008-Sep. 2008 | Tip.it Crew Sep. 2008-Nov. 2009
March 14, 201016 yr You can edit photos in iPhoto and Aperture but I can't remember if that was just a trial or what. Also note that these programs are just for photo editing (photographyish stuff).

GIMP has been working pretty well for what I'm working on. Also, thanks for the help everyone  Proudly achieved 99 fletching before the 'string x' optionProudly achieved 99 firemaking before the Grand Exchange was introducedCall me crazy but I alched all the way to 99 magic
March 14, 201016 yr There is also Pixelmator ( http://www.pixelmator.com/ ), if you're looking for a cheap alternative to Photoshop. But still, GIMP is free, unless you wish to either get Photoshop or Pixelmator in not-so-legal ways. Now that MacPaint no longer exists, there are alternatives that function in a similar way to Paint on Windows; eg. http://paintbrush.sourceforge.net/

March 15, 201016 yr GIMP has to use a utility called X11 to run, so it may be a little slow. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
