July 27, 201015 yr Haha, the beginning is shamelessly copied from that of 28 Days Later. From the trailer it looks like it has an impressive budget though, and quite the stellar line-up of directors and writers too (Shawshank Redemption, The Wire, Dexter, BSG, 24, etc.). Zombie-apocalyptic stories have always intrigued me, so I'm definitely looking forward to this. Thanks for the heads up.

November 2, 201015 yr Pilot was pretty great. [spoiler=Spoilers]Not sure if these are necessary. I felt bad for the legless zombie. :< And the end was pretty cool. November 2, 201015 yr I saw the first episode yesterday. It was kinda "meh". I guess I'll give it some more episodes before deciding anything, though.

What I liked about the first episode the most was that it wasn't just a superficial zombie show. The value of family theme is something that I hope they continue. And omgwtfdrama with his wife and police partner. November 2, 201015 yr The only problem I have with the show thus far is the lead guy. He reminds me of Joseph Fiennes with his weird facial expressions. I hope he turns out to be a better actor. It's hard to judge with only one episode.

Kind of like how all HBO shows have a certain style or feel to them. November 8, 201015 yr So what's the general consensus on quality of show/dedication to the comic? Last night I watched the episode with someone who had read the comic. Not wanting to spoil anything, he said that there were a few things that weren't in the comic. For example, the sex scene at the beginning was apparently only alluded to in the comic and not specifically shown. There are also extra characters that are not in the comic. After that I told him to shut up and just watch. :razz: I really hope they don't do product placement like other shows do (the perfectly placed muscle car). I remember when shows like Heroes did it with Guitar Hero and it was baaaddd. Other than that, another good episode.
