  1. And speaking on behalf of those people who hope to one day have a spouse and children, that sucks Ouchy. Dump her ass pronto.
  2. I imagine its an evidence thing. They seize them during the case so that nothing 'disappears' before it can be presented at trial.
  3. If I'm going to be totally honest, my mental picture of Africa is still desert and poverty as far as the eye can see. I'm not even sure I've ever seen a picture of a building more than 4 stories high that I knew was from Africa before :???: I totally wouldn't have guessed that the capital of Nigeria would look like that, mostly because I seem to remember a lot of stuff about wars being fought, and for some reason that makes me assume that the whole city should look like its been carpet bombed.

Made my appointment, though now my arm is sore from the IV. I think the next one is going back in the arm where I normally get them, not in the hand. At least my arm and hand are mobile again (it was protesting a goodly bit for the first 20 minutes once I got out). Going skating tomorrow, which will be nice because right now I am bored out of my mind. I also need to remember to pick up a bottle of wine so I'm not showing up to dinner later this week empty handed. And I didn't even know they still made Vauxhall's. The only one I ever saw was an antique.

Mostly I limit myself to a bicycle. There are some good trails not to far from my parents house. Some of them are actually nice, with crusher dust (like the old train tracks), and others are paths that people cleared out years ago intended for 3 wheelers (yes, that long ago). I also have a go-cart, that unfortunately hasn't seen use in a while. It's so-so on the off road. There used to be a dirt pit that was a lot of fun to drive around in, but then someone built a couple houses in it <_< It still gets some use on the ice when the lake freezes over though.
  6. I have to say I agree with Vulxai's general sentiment here. The people who use these sites to get copyprotected material for free can't really complain when someone stops them from doing something that was illegal in the first place, especially when its a reasonable law. Besides, its not like you can't get whatever it was you were getting someplace else, and I don't see that changing. People will always be trying to make file sharing possible, and people will probably continue to make stuff available that they shouldn't until the law finds a way to bust down the door and sue the pants off everyone who uploads copy protected property. The MegaBox thing looks neat. I'd be interested to see how the business model works in detail. It sort of reminds me of Netflix, who not being affiliated with any studio, seem to recognize that offering the best service for the lowest price is a better plan than trying to screw everyone out of every last penny possible. And if they can provide some music for free, and still pay the artist (I assume the artist probably gets less money if its a free download) would be a great way to help newer bands get out there and establish a fan base, since it wont cost people anything to (legally) try their music out, and the artist is still getting something for it.
  7. I can relate here. All I ever used to see as far as pictures of say China, were pictures in history books in elementary, so I needed up with the silly mental picture that they didn't have any modern buildings or industry. Even once I realized how crazy that mental picture was, it took a little while before I stopped picturing huts and carts every time I thought about the country. Yep. No modern buildings or industry here.
  8. I can't say the idea of my tax dollars potentially going to save the lives of criminals is exactly the most awesome thought I have ever head, nor is the idea that they would be given priority over law abiding citizens (since triage works based on severity of of condition), but if they seek help, then the only humane thing to do would be to provide it. Even in war, doctors are still supposed to treat the enemy if that situation comes up.

There seems to be a misunderstanding. In general, I am actually quite fond of the rain, and if its warm enough I have no objections whatsoever. I only gripe about it when its less than 10 degrees and super windy, because while I might not object to being wet, I do object to freezing. Also, Obfuscator is correct, I am in the Maritimes. And problem solved. The appointment is tomorrow, so if I had gone I would have shown up 23 hours early (yeah, I remembered the time wrong too). And this is why I have a calender. This does remind me that I need to get a replacement rain jacked, since my waterproof one has a nice rip and hence is less than waterproof now. My backup coat for warmer weather when I don't want to feel like I'm wearing a furnace would be pushing my luck just a bit on two 15 minute trips if it doesn't have time to dry. I also need to liberate my gigantic umbrella from my parents.

It's pouring rain outside today, and I have an appointment at the hospital to go to, which is a goodly 15+ minute walk. Normally I don't really mind, but its not that warm out, so getting soaked could end up being a problem if it means freezing at the same time. Tempted to get a cab, at least on the way there (because it matters a lot less if I get cold on the way home, since I can just change and hug the radiator till I'm warm again), but that would be coming out of my food budget <_< The joys of paying your way through life all on your own for a year, while trying not to get a student loan  Whatever, I'll figure something out.
  11. I like the part where getting caught for murder is 69 drinks  (for my level 15 on a 1040 bounty)
  12. I can't say I've been to TET in a while, but I did have a ton of fun on the events I did attend. The ones I remember best are the costume competitions. Thanks for all the great events you guys!
  13. It's not even hitting me as a 'drastic' change. The difference in price here is a big bag of chips at a convenience store, (2 if your in a grocery store). Not that this affects me, since I am still on the original price from before the last price hike, with no plans on changing that. I play on and off year round, so its easier to just let it keep going so I have membership when I need it. I'm also predicting that these 3 and 6 month cc deals aren't going to beat my current monthly price. Not that I really care. I'm getting an awesome deal and I'm happy to have it.

The Republicans might not be happy if Obama gets in again, but I think most everyone else will love it. I'm also pretty sure you guys are like the most left wing country on the planet, so everyone else identifies more with the Democrats, because they resemble a party we might actually vote for in our own country. I'm having a lazy day today.

Thought I lost my phone who knows where. My wireless router could tell it was still in the house, but normally when I misplace it I find it by calling it. It's always set to vibrate, but I've always been able to hear it and find it pretty fast. This time it was in a pocket in my sweater, on a foot rest, under a winter jacket, so I probably could have had my head right next to it and never heard it (though I probably would have clued in when the alarm went off the next morning). Still, I hate not knowing where it is, and it was lost for a good 10 minutes that time. Not cool :ohnoes: Now that I found it, I can go to sleep.
  16. I think I always pull in my fishing rocks in one or two inventories of monks. Hunter takes an age and a half, though its not the only skill like that for me. Whatever determines when you get the rocks seems to favour certain skills, and they aren't the same ones for everyone.

Tim, if you don't want anyone reading it, write a diary, not a blog :P Apparently I am going skating again on Thursday  Really enjoying this since aside from last night, I haven't been on the ice in skates in like two years.

I normally will tip in the 10%-15% range, unless the service is sub par. What I don't like are places asking for tips that have no place asking for them in the first place, especially if there is an obvious chance to tip before you get your food (because you just know their going to spit on it or something if you don't tip). I generally won't deal with places like that because I feel like I'm being forced to pay extra (and if I have to, its normally around 5%). Tim Hortons still takes tips I think, which has always bugged me. They are fast food, and have no place asking for them. Besides, everyone who works for them seems to hate their job, so your lucky if your not being scowled at. I'd say around here that even giving a 10% tip could be low enough to be frowned upon to most people. It's just a culture thing I guess. As a side point, if your not going to tip, then don't eat at the same place twice, or you get to imagine all the creative things the chef and waiter are going to do to your meal when one of the staff recognizes you as 'that [wagon] who didn't tip last time'.

If everyone is going to make a blog, you guys need to work it out so that your all posting on different days (unless something totally amazing/horrible happens of course) so that I have time to read them all without it becoming a chore. I'm enjoying the insight into Bows life so far 8-) Went on a date last night. We went skating for a bit on an outside arena, which in retrospect was a bit colder and busier than we might have liked, but it was still a lot of fun. Something we will be doing much more often (probably once every week or two) in the future, but preferably at an actual arena where its a bit warmer and less crowded. Then it was back to my place for a movie, well actually a couple episodes of firefly. Found someone else who likes that show at least almost as much as I do, though were going to run out of episodes to watch pretty fast <_< I also believe I am slated to meet the parents (again) either this coming weekend, or the one after, this time over dinner. Looking forward to it.
  20. Agreed  I want to index it (btw, your B picture is broken).
  21. It's kind of scary to realize just how much money these companies must have been making if the injunction looks like that (the 1 million part). I suspect the settlement itself was several times that. More than enough to pay the legal fees, and probably enough to help fund further efforts in this area. I also like the part about turning over all their records. That should have the botters sweating, especially the ones who used this bot. I wouldn't be opposed to it being used as a strait up perm ban list, though that might be counterproductive to profits unfortunately. What it will do is give a list of players to check over again, and might also work as evidence in other law suits they may take on.

Now that's the kind of creeper I need. The first real bunker I built would fare the best against them, seeing as the first floor is a solid obsidian cube with a layer of bedrock (for looks) acting as a facade. There are two doors (front and back), each with piston doors. Still, the way you designed your creeper I would want to install a second set of the doors. The front ones can handle a standard creeper (actually, a TNT block since that was easier to test with) against any point without failing, but not the back door. That would also be a lot more fun for my current outpost, since the whole idea of that one would be that you keep falling back to the next line of defense (setting off traps as you retreat) as the creepers blow through the walls. I wonder if they could also be modified to explode on contact with solid surfaces after say 20 seconds (I don't want them storming the whole thing before I can even think about falling back). I could have a lot of fun with that.
  23. The boots and gloves both have a set amount of bonus, based on your current level, with no restriction or basis on time, so just leave them on the whole time. You'll get the same xp in the end.
  24. This is what I mean by the fan: That's an intake, so once it gets up to speed, its sucking in all the dust (note the amount of dust sitting on top of the card) that fall on it, and blasting it inside the card. Since every other computer on this planet has the motherboard on the other side of the case, my graphics card is upside down, so rather than put the circuit board on top with a fan under it that would suck up lean air, the fan is on top letting everything fall inside. I think I'm going to make a little tent for it to keep dust from settling near the fan in the future. Also didn't realize the picture was quite that big  So I'll use the thumbnail instead. And I don't think it ever really gets above 50C, so it seems to be pretty good temp wise. As far as I know, anything under 60-65 should be fine, but of course the lower the better. Web browsing its barely above room temperature.
