Thieving! Why can't it be more like thieving in real life? Thieving should be a moneymaking skill compared to duel arena potential moneymaking speeds and risks. PVP thieving would also make the game more interesting.

I don't see your problem here. Why take away the freedom to post any type of clans we want and only limit us to tip.it clans? If the tip.it clans want to be ranked more often, maybe they should challenge the real top dogs more often?

You are correct. Right now they are super slowly going through all existing names in alphabetical order(numbers come first). They check each name if they have ever been member, if they have 30+ stats, if they have logged in in the last year, if they are permabanned, if their account is locked and if their account is special(mods, protected names and few other things). If one of those points apply to the name, the name will remain unchanged. If not, the name will be changed to [#4242523522523525] and it will be released for everyone to use.
