CountDown From 15K - COUNTDOWN FINISHED!!!!
D. V. Devnull replied to Blaze The Movie Fan's topic in Forum Games
<*DVD looks at both of his upper arms, and notices they're not in pain or flopping around.*> You do know what a humerus is, right? Neither of mine are broken. :) ... Maybe you were talking about my "sense of humorous"??? :P 11276 ~D. V. "I know what you meant, but I had to pull out the literal definition." Devnull -
<*DVD looks at the triple reply to him, and sighs quietly.*> Ginger/Pryo/Laikrob, I would suggest leaving a bit stronger note then if you're joking or trying to display an example... Such as putting the example in a quote tagging, like this... ... so that people don't misinterpret so easily... While one person might see nothing wrong, and view it as nothing but sarcastic humor, another person can end up easily taking it literally or in an unintended manner. And as you can see (with me as an example) on that note, that didn't go over well. :( ~D. V. "Argh, sorry for the misinterpretation." Devnull

Wrong again. Both the FlashBlock extension and Java have to deal with the browser and the navigation system within, as well as the javascripting systems that both extensions and plugins rely upon to do what they do... Further, FlashBlock was stealing it an inopportune times, causing Ziggyzoozoo to have problems until they disabled FlashBlock. Now while the browsing elements work excellently under Internet Explorer (of course by MicroSoft's design) and focus will return to the applet, it doesn't work so well under Mozilla FireFox because the developers didn't have the foresight to throw the focus back to the applet even if an item in an IFrame tag was loading. And so with how FlashBlock is designed, it was glitching up the keyboard focus and sending everything to hell. :geek: While that all makes sense, I'm not too sure where you got that from. The logic is compiled from several sources. :geek: First, my knowledge of what happened to me while using FireFox without any advert blocking (Which resulted in my losing control of the RuneScape applet every time an advert loaded.)... Second, what was happening to Ziggyzoozoo (They lost focus ONLY while FlashBlock was enabled, it stopped when they stopped using FlashBlock.)... Finally, there was the small pack of knowledge I picked up on the way while studying about how FireFox was designed and works (Mozilla's pages on working with the 'about:config' system gave some nifty pointers too, inclusive of the fact that a feature called "spatial navigation" wasn't put into the default FireFox builds, which would have possibly handled this issue.) ... :-k When I looked at it, it was like a light clicked on in my head. Everything that was happening fit the problem that Ziggyzoozoo had run into. For that matter, it has now also dawned on me that these extensions, even when they aren't actively in use, have some kind of basic item within that listens for something (which could range anywhere from a keyboard/menu shortcut to a keg of incoming page data) that they're supposed to be handling. Which would add to explaining what happened with the FlashBlock add-on, because having such a listener that is not designed properly could result in some of the same kinds of focus-stealing issues... :? I hope this additional info helps your understanding of my earlier post. :) ~D. V. "The logic connects..." Devnull

I've also come to miss the occasional article from Qeltar on the Tip.It Times ... I have no idea what's happened to them, but I hope they will get to return eventually with yet another stunning article. : ~D. V. "You're right, something's been missing around here..." Devnull

Jaxonin, if you wish to have both heavy exp and gp inflow, then mine Mithril Ore and Coal all on your own, smelt the whole bunch with a furnace, smith into items, and high-alch what you make. You'll find that you more than recoup your gp used on buying the Nature Runes, and start having an expanding gp stock in your bank. If I were you, I wouldn't bother with trying to hurry on this, and would take time off RuneScape doing other things when not working on this. Getting stressed and trying to hurry will only result in wanting to quit, as I have personally discovered in my time so far on RuneScape. :? ~Mr. D. V. "You'll be more happy for not rushing." Devnull

I don't normally get upset in such a sharp manner, but... Wow... You finally got the point... No one here likes such a thing. Tip.It is a friendly community where a positive atmosphere is maintained. What you wish to have is something that would wreck that gentle atmosphere, as well as the very fabric of balance that Tip.It exists upon. Also, I don't normally get upset at Super Mods like this, but this is an exception... I second. He also has a suspicious body odour that carries through to his posts, and his username is a bit strange. Okay, while I can understand that this user has annoyed the both of you... I can't understand the both of you dropping to such an insulting and childish level of behavior... Sure, maybe you're trying to make a point through example of rudeness and sarcasm, but it ends up feeling and sounding like an outright flame post. Sure, you're upset, but you don't need to lash like this. Heck, it makes me sad that you both did this. To the Admins, bosses of the Super Mods --- Please lock this thread and end this circus. I think we can agree that it has gone on long enough. :| ~D. V. "Can't stand non-intelligent ideas like what was suggested in this thread..." Devnull

(While I hate to further discuss a solved item that's 10 days old, this has to be answered...) Wrong again. :geek: This is why I have recommended AdBlock Plus to replace FlashBlock... In fact, I should have attached to my last post a copy of the filterlisting needed to flat strip most (The user will still need to develop "second pass"-type filters for what remains, without breaking Jagex's final advert scripts.) of what could happen from having to readapt due to this problem. :| ... Here it is, with recommendation that the user manual be read and/or help requested further in here, before putting them in (unless the user grips onto what to do easily)... [hide=ABP Filter Listing, Click to view...]advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=301 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=728 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=729 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=730 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=734 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=735 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=738 runescape.com#div(class*=adframe) runescape.com#span(id*=vbUrl) runescape.com#div(id*=tb) advert.funorb.com funorb.com#iframe(id*=ad)[/hide] FlashBlock will have to be bugfixed by its' author before it will quit having the behavior that Ziggyzoozoo experienced. :( ~D. Eh, what about on the drives themselves that go in the laptops? I think there is a connector there that looks similar to the picture? :-s Hey... I just found a nice example, I think. Have a look at this... Would you agree that it does look similar to the connectors in the other picture I provided? :) ~D. V. "Wait... What about that similar one?" Devnull

I think we need a few questions answered... [*:15usenls]How the [bleep] did you get all those 99's, and still be puzzled like this? [*:15usenls]What are you trying to train, Mage, Range, or something else? [*:15usenls]Are you F2P or P2P?... and if you can answer all that, then we might be able to find a proper solution for you. I will patiently look forward to hearing what you have to say in response to my questions. 8-) ~Mr. D. V. "Need more info!" Devnull

Hey... I wanted to start this page!!! :x (LOL  ...) <*DVD changes to a sarcastic style of voice...*> Well, pardon me for having a temporary change in style of humor then. Now where were we? Oh, yeah....................... 11,279 ~Mr. D. V. "My idea of humor will not always coincide with yours." Devnull -
Expanding on what Clare said, an IDE connector on a drive will look similar to the following... If you see something similar to the big blue and white connectors in this image, then you have an IDE device... You'll more than likely find that the plug is a black color, given how most companies build these drives... :geek: Good luck on getting that data copied. ~D. V. "Always helps to elaborate." Devnull

I'll "third" that verdict. :ugeek: Also, as someone else said, the PC belongs to the user... Jagex has no right to dictate, period. Shame on them for even trying this disgraceful and disrespectful ploy. :shame: Which reminds me... In the last month or so, I remember there was someone who was allowing Jagex's Advert Server to send them adverts from third-party advertisers... Sadly, their computer ended up infected with viruses from those adverts, and they had to come to Tip.It's T&C Forum to get help on disinfecting. :( Philipj, if you decide to use AdBlock Plus with FireFox, I've tagged below all the filter lines needed to permanently stop 99% of the adverts from RuneScape/FunOrb, as well as cause the element in the page to disappear from the actual rendering... There is one advert type that you'll have to figure out how to filter without breaking a script or two in the page... And I can certify these will work until Jagex pulls something crazy again. :? [hide=ABP filter listing, click to view...]advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=301 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=728 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=729 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=730 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=734 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=735 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=738 runescape.com#div(class*=adframe) runescape.com#span(id*=vbUrl) runescape.com#div(id*=tb) advert.funorb.com funorb.com#iframe(id*=ad)[/hide] Make sure you read the ABP manual on how to insert these before you try to, unless you easily grip onto handling things like this. While these are good filters, if you make even one mistake, it can mess up the game applet's login/load sequence, and I would never want that happening to a fellow Tip.It'er/RuneScape'er. :anxious: Please post back if you need additional help with this. : ~Mr. "Master of 'Pre-Emptive Advert Murdering'..." Devnull (p.s.: I think I need to learn how to develop downloadable text files for this kind of thing. LOL...)

I'm thinking that would be bad to spray into the monitor... Probably would gum up the works and ruin the screen... Right? :? ~D. V. "Wait... What? I'm thinking that wouldn't work so well." Devnull

Not when someone's starting to mess up the count... <*DVD pulls out a bucket of Lobsters and dumps it on sbrideau2000, leaving them to clamp and pinch sbrideau all over.*> That's when I turn downright evil. Actually, this is the only thread I track in here anymore. Been too busy with RuneScape and a few other things online and offline. :P Now... where were we? Oh, yes, now we're at.................... 11,287 ~D. V. "Yeah, that's gonna leave a mark..." Devnull -
Pardon my asking, but ... What the #$%@ is a "BS" button on a Windows 7 Calculator?!?!?!? :o (Honestly, I've never seen THAT before!) Argh... Just use PhotoBucket.com already, and save all of us headaches, yourself included!!! (What is it with everyone and ImageShack lately?!?!? If you're doing it right, PhotoBucket is far more impressive!) ~D. V. "Ehhhhhhh... What?!?" Devnull

11,289 Oh dear... :( ... Still slow here... Where'd I put that vid??? :uhh: Nevermind... found a new one... :P "A Puppy In Halo 3" by 'raider-66', posted through "Machinima.com's YouTube account"... sx9PujLoqiI This is just downright hilarious for a short vid... Watch it more than once to find all the funny stuff they stuck in this... LOL! ~D. V. "Funny via methods I'd never thought of..." Devnull -
Are you fighting them on P2P or F2P? One revenant takes a whole five-man team to kill it on F2P. :wall: ~D. V. "Well?" Devnull

Denismage, if you have a warranty for your monitor, and a shop nearby that's licensed to repair under warranty, then I suggest going there with it. Never violate your warranty with self-service, if you can avoid it. If you don't have a shop nearby that can do that, then package up the monitor in such a manner that the bug can't escape, and send it to the manufacturer. What has happened here could result in your getting a better monitor than the one you have, or at least a better-sealed one, seeing as this could be deemed a fault in the construction/workmanship of your current monitor. :? Some monitors have cooling vents that they could possibly get in through From what I understand, a properly-designed LCD should have the display sealed in such a manner as to prevent this problem. Even if there's cooling vents in the back, this isn't supposed to happen... At least, it isn't supposed to under normal circumstances. :| ~Mr. "I'd hate to be that ant..." Devnull

Because I'm F2P, I'm limited to F2P ideas for methods... Some of it may not properly apply... Some of it I can help with, some of it I can't... Let's go look at what you've got here... 8-) Chop willows south of Rimmington and burn/sell to your heart's content. About the only thing that can stop you down there is a heavy keg of randoms in a row. :ugeek: Crafting Guild... Hardleather Bodies... Starting with 150 gp, this could be fueled near endlessly. No question, mine such as you need to boost Smithing. Doing it any other way = Self-Sabotage. :? Use what you mined in the previous part to make Mithril Stuff... Sell to stores until you can make Mithril Swords (the short ones)... After that, high-alch everything else you make with Smithing. You'll rack up a lot of gp from this part. Can't help with this... I'm F2P, sorry. :( Can't help with this... I'm F2P, sorry. :( Craft in such a manner that you could use it on Magic later. Any other way = sabotage to your magic level... and a burn-out caused by using what you make no further, but only getting measly amounts of gp for your work. :geek: I hope all the info I have given helps you in leveling up, pinguimmaiden. For whatever doesn't, I recommend that you think ahead to possible conclusions, as doing so will help with that. : ~Mr. D. V. "Fore-thought is key." Devnull

Things that make you turn your chat filter on.
D. V. Devnull replied to AdiusReaper's topic in General Discussion
I might as well vent... LOL! The only times I have my pub chat off are when I'm either heavily lagged by my location, or someone is being a real pain-in-the-[bleep] on my nerves. Other than that, I'm usually listening around me for that next chance to put a market price back in the right place. ~D. V. "Properly-used Public Chat = Sweet!" Devnull -
Here's an article to read, then... http://www.runescape.com/kbase/view.ws?guid=pvp_worlds And sorry for not explaining fully... I read the whole thread before I posted, so my mind was set in the context of the thread at the time. ;) ~Mr. "I hope that helps..." Devnull

There were several other people there that happened to be Grogtholomew's level, so that doesn't add up. :notalk: ~Mr. "Other possibilities?" Devnull

I actually answered something similar to this recently. :geek: ... However, here we go... The S.O.S.'s First Floor (War) is a rather good place to train and get a whole boatload of stuff. You'll wish to fight the "Minotaur (Level 27)"s in the room in the southeast. Bring 150 Iron Arrows, 1 Maple Shortbow, Full Green D'hide, Leather (NOT Fighting) Boots, Power Ammy, 1 Coif, and 4 Lobsters/Swordfish... Use the barrier in that room to range over and kill monsters to your heart's content, taking damage only if you make slight mistakes, and gaining a near-endless supply of copper/tin (which you'd probably sell later) ores, Rune Essence, and more Bronze/Iron Arrows than you can shake a stick at. I think you'll find yourself quite happy with your outcome... Especially since this can be done completely by yourself, without help. And in case you're curious, I currently have '68 Ranged' only because I'm trying to train (and catch up) skills right now, otherwise my combat stuff would probably be a bit higher. However, I can certify that my advice will get you to 75 comfortably. Further, you'll get it without the problem of accidentally losing your stuff because you decided to try and AFK your training, which usually results in a nasty random event monster showing up. ~Mr. D. V. "When training, be there... Don't AFK..." Devnull

And apparently, you didn't read that this happened to be a PvP world where it occurred... As King_Mirthas said: Given what they said, it means that the respawn point IS NOT in the same place on PvP worlds. Please don't try to correct me when I've already correctly compensated for the situation... A situation which made my words correct. :!: ~Mr. D. V. "Sorry, but I'm still right." Devnull
