CountDown From 15K - COUNTDOWN FINISHED!!!!

11,217 What's up with all the ashes, redhaloguy? :-s ~D. V. "I'd hate to be part of that pile." Devnull -
It is way better than 'Malignius Mortifier' with the Mushrooms, in my opinion. Further, I've been reading too much Dilbert and haven't seen too many RS fakes in the other forums, so seeing something like this is rather refreshing compared to what I usually look at. If it hadn't been for what effectively is a form of "Looney Tunes"-esque, funny, slapstick humor -- which I haven't seen in a long time -- then I probably wouldn't have held as high an opinion or laughed as much. :-k I don't quite know much more as to why I like this kind of stuff. :| This part is off-topic, but Nadril asked for an answer, so "oh well"... Hmm... What an over-assumption in your choice of emote... Don't worry, I browse places like http://www.visualparadox.com and http://www.digitalblasphemy.com ... So I'm not dense when it comes to commenting and/or remaining quiet about art I see. Heck, I've ignored about 3 of the 5 threads I've browsed here so far, because I couldn't think of anything helpful to say. You know what they say, "If you don't have anything good to post, don't post at all." : ~D. V. "Our senses of funny may be different, but there's nothing to worry over." Devnull

When I blur my eyes while trying a refocusing trick that I heard of a number of years ago, the right side looks like there's someone standing there. As for the left side, I can't figure out for a second what it is. Could it be a tunnel? Or maybe a portal? I don't know. :-k Overall, I would have to think that you've created something which will cause speculation for some time to come. : ~D. V. "Confusing, but interesting..." Devnull

You're not as twisted as I or the Image Author, then. To be honest, I got a major laugh out of the image. DarkBlitz, I rate it with a 9/10, only because (in my opinion) the dialog should have been broken up a little extra, so that only one person is talking at a time. Also, there could have been a customary "Auuugh!" inserted in there just as the person who was trick-or-treating was about to be changed into the pumpkin, and maybe a few sound effect text items added. Other than that, its' great. ~D. V. "That's one PWNED Trick-or-treat'er..." Devnull

Ray, try aiming for 70 mining, 70 smithing, and 70 prayer in rotating bursts until you get the levels. (Heck, I challenge you to get those levels, since I'm aiming for them myself... ...) Swap tasks every single time that you start to bore of one. By keeping it fresh constantly, you should be able to get the levels without giving up, even if it takes a while. ~Mr. D. V. "The Rotating Skiller" Devnull

And have you actually tried this information for yourself? F2P players should not have to face the upset of being totally without it because bad advice was posted. :ugeek: ~Mr. "I'd love to hear further proof." Devnull

How did I end up in the runecrafting guild?
D. V. Devnull replied to diib's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
diib, you've hit upon a bug I've heard of previously... I was hoping they'd fixed this by now, but it looks like they haven't... :? Which reminds me, time to put in a request to move this thread to "RS B&S"... This thread is about a bug, not a question about a fully working part of the game... :geek: ~D. V. "When's Jagex gonna fix the bug with that rc'ing guild?" Devnull -
Must have been a glitch in your registry or another settings file, then. Any which way, glad to hear it works. Case Closed. 8-) ~D. V. "It was a mysterious bug, but now we're done here..." Devnull

Important messages we should not be missing.

Red, due to several reasons, is an automatic "NO"... What do you think about yellow or orange? :geek: ~Mr. "The option you wish to have is already used elsewhere." Devnull -
I guess but it would go nice with some outfits. It's a broom. Freeplayers are that desperate for outfits? Actually, yes, we are... P2P gets invariably more combos, compared to what F2P has. It makes it insanely hard to compete with P2P players at a costume contest. ~D. V. "Some styles just get old... That's why new styles are needed." Devnull

D. V. Devnull replied to BloodArgon's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I'll support this... BTW, Blue is used in ALL Normal Chat, as well as the Clan Chat Room Names... So how about yellow or orange, like with the system updates, since this is basically as vitally important as those? And how about placing it below the info for what item your mouse is over, in the top left of the game applet? :-s ~D. V. "That recoloring needs to happen, and soon." Devnull -

11,223 Corrections didn't properly arrive until I did... Probably why I noticed and clobbered the culprit. ~D. V. "And there comes the *BOOM*, ready or not!" Devnull -
Even better, they could have had Wendy give them back in F2P, since they moved Maggie away and left her in the area... Sure would have been nice for all of those F2P players who did take the time (including me) to do that rather nice quest... Especially as that happened to be time that was spent out of their lives to do it. :geek: *sigh* ... I guess that is Jagex Corp.'s way of committing epic fail... -.- ~Mr. "If only they wouldn't do those mistakes..." Devnull

I really wish you hadn't reformatted. At least back up your personal data first before doing that, if you haven't already? :wall: No offense taken. I hadn't remembered that Iceweasel was a Linux browser... ~D. V. "Learn more, for learning never ends..." Devnull

What OS are you running at the time this happens? :-s Also, have you tried clicking out in the black space that is off both sides of the advert, and tapping F11 (or just simply going to "View > Full Screen", instead of using that shortcut) for the full screen function on your browser? (Not the game itself, just the browser's rendering space which the applet is contained in.) If you're having the problem I think you are, that should fix it. If not, then you've got a worse problem than what I estimated. :-k Please post back if that works or not. We can start the more serious troubleshooting after we know whether this is just a simple redraw glitch... :geek: ~D. V. "This could be simple... I hope it is." Devnull
-
Well that stinks... Now I've got yet one more space in my bank locked up... That is, unless I would like to do without such a nifty item for things like holidays and TET events. :( Jagex really needs to leave a way for F2P to retrieve it. :wall: ~D. V. "Need an F2P safe point for my broom..." Devnull

+1 more to the support list. I'd really like to know if I'm anywhere near something nice yet. :-w ~Mr. "I'd love to know my net worth." Devnull

Nice. Try to scam people on an anti-scam topic? How bold of you. Or stupid. I can't tell at this point. Seriously made me LOL that he postd it here. He's posting as fast as i can report his posts to get them locked. Ah. That explains why I couldn't report it myself. BTW, I think we have to figure here that if a scammer is posting in this thread, that they're probably using a bot to do it. To my knowledge, any scammer who wasn't using a bot would have had the smarts to never post here. :boohoo: ~D. V. "Oh, what stupidity that scammers have..." gauper_kid, you still blew it... and made everyone else blow it really epically... Oh well, time to do something nasty... <*DVD pulls out a pair of gigantic bowling balls, and rolls them over gauper several times... This leaves gauper_kid looking like a very flat pancake.*> That just haaaaaaaad to hurt... And it looks like I've got giant balls. Now, where were we? Oh, yeah......... 11,226 ~D. V. Yes, and for a whole string of reasons, including the worried/paranoid newbies. That, and simple courtesy. :geek: 11,234 ~D. V. "Credits are good." Devnull -
the solution at age 25? move out. get a job. the solution for everyone else, and you once they do find out, or if i'm wrong i'll glad post that i'm wrong (i'll be sending a query about this) is appeal it telling them about your parental policies, they'll still most likely ask you to remove the filter. it's basically taking money away from the company. so, i'll post the answer to my query to jagex about this, and i'll let you know the answer. (just because it's online, doesn't mean it's not taking money from a business) ~evil_mu "just a query away from being correct" mm_ra~ You are evil, aren't you? Jagex will only be so dumb as to ban if they want to lose possible customers. (BTW, that group would obviously include anyone who can introduce possible customers to the game.) :shame: I wonder, being that there are children, teens, and young adults who can't use PCs unless they follow their Parents'/School's/Workplace's/ISP's anti-advert policies about those PCs... How much would F2P shrink, which would equally hurt P2P's in-game market rather harshly, if a whole bunch of people were lost because Jagex couldn't understand their adverts being blocked for safety/security/parental reasons? Maybe 25% minimum, or possibly more like half of F2P? Or more??? Yeah, I'm sure you'd hate to see TET's events get kinda small because something like that happened. :ugeek: ~D. V. Comments or Questions about the Avatar Changes?
D. V. Devnull replied to das's topic in Forum Updates and Suggestions
Tip.It Staff, you also have my thanks in regard to the signature file size limits. Maybe now I have enough space to fix the quality on my avatar. Any Thread Mirror is included in is crazy! WHAT??? Am I some random sort of "chopped liver" here??? Can I not also make threads crazy in a good way??? ... (JUST KIDDING!!! :P ...) ~Mr. D. V. "Thank you!!!" Devnull -
An extra note to earlier... Errdoth's also mailed me about this... Which, BTW, I wasn't trying to go off on him... I was recalling what I'd heard early on about what happened when interacting with a Java applet... I've mailed him back and will be giving the Microhelper a try in a few moments... Just installed the add-on. :| I'm really surprised that malware can compromise extensions, BTW. :o Okay... Errdoth's "Tip.It MicroHelper" add-on is working beautifully here. Therefore, sloter, I apologize to you. (I've already sent my apologies to Errdoth as well, BTW...) TBH, I'm glad that it works well, because I don't like nay-saying nice stuff. :geek: That reminds me... I've sent Errdoth some suggestions about the MicroHelper. If he integrates them, I bet we can expect a big announcement from the Admins. @ E.M.R. --- And what about all those poor kids (which I estimate compose at least 1/4th of the free players... and even though I'm age 25, belong to that group) whose parents have anti-advert policies??? Do we just up and ban them too??? :o ... (BTW, a website is NOT the same as a IRL store... So I find your analogy to not be so workable, in this instance. Sorry.) @ Pinkbullet3 --- How's the fixing on the ABP filters coming, as per my earlier post?!?!? If needs be, I'll post up some screenshots or something. :-s ... (Maybe it is time I need to develop that filterlist file to import... :-k ...) ~D. V. "Just a few puzzle pieces away from done..." Devnull

I've mailed him back and will be giving the Microhelper a try in a few moments... Just installed the add-on. :| I'm really surprised that malware can compromise extensions, BTW. :o Okay, I see what's going on there. You'll need to remove the following exact lines from there... [hide=ABP filters to be stripped... click to view...]@@|hiscore.runescape.com @@|itemdb-rs.runescape.com @@|www.runescape.com */advert/* advert.runescape.com/* runescape.com runescape.com#div(id*=vb) runescape.com#iframe(id*=vb) runescape.com#span(id*=vb)[/hide] ... and the problem that you're seeing will go away. It so happens in particular that the overly-generalized ones that contain just "(id*=vb)", the "*/advert/*", the exception rules, and "advert.runescape.com/*" were all gumming up the works. Once you're done, it will look very much similar to what I listed a short way back, which I'll post again below so you can compare and see why and what is going on. : ... [hide=ABP Filter Listing, click to view]advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=301 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=728 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=729 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=730 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=734 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=735 advert.runescape.com*banner.ws?size=738 runescape.com#div(class*=adframe) runescape.com#span(id*=vbUrl) runescape.com#div(id*=tb) advert.funorb.com funorb.com#iframe(id*=ad)[/hide] You'll notice that none of the lines in my hide tags above match with what I've said shouldn't be there in the hide tags above that. :geek: As a note about your extension unload/reload... It is possible that dumping and reloading the Microhelper unstuck something for you. As for this... i'd assume that means website advertisements too. Just a few problems with that...[*:2ia0jm4n]First, the PC belongs to the user, NOT Jagex, so they REALLY have no right to declare what you'll be allowing, period. :shame: [*:2ia0jm4n]Second off, this user wants their PC safe, not infected with malware. :ugeek: [*:2ia0jm4n]Finally, I've actually seen problems from people who weren't using any advert filtering... And guess what? They ended up infected because Jagex doesn't pre-screen their adverts, and have allowed infected adverts to be sent to the user! (Just check in the last 2 pages of this forum, if you don't believe me...) Until they take the time to ensure that PCs will NOT be infected, they (again) have no right to require you to accept the adverts. :x I don't think I need to say more. ~D. V.
