Static cling and magnetism spells!
D. V. Devnull replied to Cheefoo's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I'll support this also. While I am F2P, there is obviously room on this idea to create versions of the spells for both F2P and P2P... Such would allow a large keg of "WIN!" for everyone. Heck, maybe Jagex could make a quest or two for unlocking the different versions of these spells, one for F2P and the other for P2P. 8-) ~Mr. Delta Varuna "No way this could go wrong." Devnull -
I'll support this too... Beyond that, everything else I might have said, has been said. 8-) ~D. V. "Improved clan chats need to happen!" Devnull

elevenicy, even though I know I won't be the one with the final solution, I must ask a question that will help... Could you post screenshots of what is happening when this occurs, so that we can see in detail what is going on? :-s Thanks in advance. ~D. V. "Detailed images are useful." Devnull

Napalm, you're not sticking your hands into my cavities... I'm 100% straight, contrary to your half-[bleep]ed thought... :shame: <*DVD pulls out Valkirimedira, and uses a lightweight "sleeper pulse" shot... Napalm collapses out cold for the next 48 hours.*> Juhniz, you don't need the full URL in the 'youtube' tags... Just the video number... I'll leave you to fix your post while I go listen to the video/music... BTW, I've done the fix in my quote of you... 8-) In binary, the current number is "10101100000010" (For those who can't translate, it is "11,010" in decimal...) ~D. V. Did your ISP put that there? Or did you need to put it there for some reason? If the answer to both of those are "NO", then there is a chance that they were put there by malware. (Personally, I hope they're just your ISP DNS Servers...) :geek: Also, check your hosts file, located in "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc"... Look for anything that contains something like "127.0.0.1 <site url>" (no quotes, obviously) ... If there are any with site URLs that you need to get to, then those may also be the result of malware. :-s ~D. V. "What's going on here?" Devnull Ok will do that when I get a chance later. If they are isp I can reinstall them because I have all my drivers on disc. Heck, if you just copy down the properties from your Advanced TCP/IP Settings, as well as those IP numbers, then you'll be able to rebuild it later without need for drivers... (Unless you have to reinstall the ethernet/wireless/etc., that is.) :) ~D. V. "A bit simpler than some realize." Devnull

Oh dear... <*Looks at Napalm_Death with a sad look on his face... One which slowly changes to an evil, twisted look*> ... We've got another one gone astray. Oh well... <*Pulls out a pair of electric clamps and a battery, and shows Napalm the meaning of "Electrified by DC"...*> ... You're really crispy now, aren't ya? 11,027 ~Mr. "You're definitely shocked." Devnull -
<*points at DarkDude98's post*> We can't use that slot. Tip.It Staff intentionally made it empty, with intent of user protection... That's why we would need an alternate slot for this. :( ~D. V. "Sorry, man..." Devnull

Possibly... Might even work, for all I know... Try it if you want, but backup the computer first... Heck, I should have said to do that before running those two utilities... If you can, undo only the things needed to make items like explorer/firefox work again too. :| BTW, do you have a backup of your computer from some time back, before this began happening? If so, back up all of your personal data now... While I don't recommend doing this normally, I'm going to suggest that (if all else fails) you revert to your backup, and then get all your personal files back together and up-to-date... The problem you have appears to have infected critical system components to a point where these repair utilities are only causing the problem to become more apparent... When something like that happens, there is no choice other than reverting to a previous full backup and/or rebuild from scratch... (Or a manfacturer CD, if you have one of those.) :( ~D. V. "Crap... I hate problems that cause reverting a PC..." Devnull
-
Only a few days? I hope you back up your personal data, then. :? Hmm... Maybe I'm wrong, and you don't have a nasty virus/malware on your PC... I'd like it if I was wrong about that. :-k ~D. V. "Intriguing... What problem exists here?" Devnull
-
Correct... However, the Anti-'Adware/Malware' will NOT always be active, which means there should be no conflict between the AntiVirus and them. ~D. V. "Don't worry, man." Devnull

What were the F-Stop, Shutter Speed, and ISO on that image? And what camera model? It looks rather nice, albeit blurry. :-s ~D. V. "I would love to know the details." Devnull

They already did that, and have Java 6u11... Any other ideas? Heck, I am in hope that my questions might lead to something that will help them. :-s ~D. V. "There has to be an option left..." Devnull

Mine and smith your own stuff. Do NOT buy materials, except maybe the Nature Runes. High-Alch what you make. Profit gained. Enjoy the gp! 8-) ~Mr. "Do it right, and you will gain lots." Devnull

I understand what this person is talking about. 8-) Does everyone remember how their MSN ID is also used for accessing their mail on MSN? Well, same for GTalk with GMail... I think what they want is to have a slot to put their GTalk/GMail address, so that they can have people talk with them on GTalk and/or E-Mail them... Further, it is their problem if they start taking spam mail in their inbox for posting it up... :P ~D. V. "LOL! Oh, well!" Devnull
-
Your 'problem #2' is linked to your 'problem #1', from what I can tell... Now, I would wait for confirmation from another user in Tech&Comp, but I suggest that you download "LavaSoft's Ad-Aware" and "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware"... Theoretically, you should be able to unleash those two programs upon whatever is bogging your computer down... Also, one of them should find your problem and give you the option to remove it. :geek: BTW, you have run an AntiVirus scan, right? And tried to use Spybot S&D too? :-s ~D. V. "Spyware, the bane of my existence..." Devnull

Salad, I have 4 questions for you... [*:s91uf0jk]What is your video card? [*:s91uf0jk]What is your FireFox browser version? [*:s91uf0jk]What FireFox extensions do you have currently? [*:s91uf0jk]What is your Windows version? ...to which we can hopefully get you back on the track to being able to play RuneScape again. Call me insane for even thinking it, but there might be an unexpected interaction going on between RuneScape and something else in your PC. TBH, I hope I'm wrong. :geek: Only for reference, I'm having no trouble with the following archaic combinations... [*:s91uf0jk]Win XP SP1, FF 1.5-series, Java 1.4.2-series, ATI Radeon 9200 (not great, but it works in a pinch) [*:s91uf0jk]Win XP SP2, FF 2.0-series, Java 6u6, NVidia GeForce 7300 GT (virtually never lagged with RS) (To everyone else: Please do NOT take this thread off-topic over my archaic combinations... I don't control the upgrade process here!) ~Mr. "I will kill myself if I'm right this time..." Devnull

The piece of info I have made bold in the quote above says exactly one thing: Major virus. limpbizkit, go to a PC which is not infected, and build an "assault disc" (Definition of "assault disc" = "A disc full of good utilities, designed to clean up a computer's problems") ... Preferably, loaded with a portable set of antispyware/antimalware programs, antivirus programs, and HiJackThis... After building, use on the computer with the problems, if you can. I sense this problem may be so bad that you have to rebuild that computer. :-k ~Mr. "If it ain't one thing, it's another." Devnull

11,051 Oh crud, I made an error earlier... Apparently, Scatman John's birthday is March 13th... He actually would have been '66 years, 8 months, 20 days old' as of yesterday... My apologies to anyone whose memory I have thrown off. ~D. V. "I hate making errors." Devnull
