  1. 10,807 Not really... :? <*DVD stares at Juhniz, who was turned into a ghost by the dimension-ripping explosion.*> Unluckily for you, you died. You're a ghost now. Apparently one with serious unfinished business. :| 10,806 ~D. V. "My bombs can't be escaped." Devnull
  2. 10,808 -.- 3 days, 3.5 hours, and only a mere ~35 posts, not including what I posted to start or the post I am putting up now. Oh well, I guess this thread will never get done. Enjoy the bomb's blast. <*DVD walks out, touching the detonator control one last time, and disappears... The bomb starts beeping, first silently, then rising to a rather annoying loudness. A few seconds later, the bomb goes off, vaporizing anyone currently in the thread (e.g.: anyone who's posted between DVD's last post, and this one) to utter micro-atoms.*> ~D. V. "One ton of dead people in my wake... And no cookies for them." Devnull
  3. Agreed. FreezePop91, I no longer support this thread... I supported the original ideas that this thread once had... I do NOT support what it has become, due to your cave-in to funnisam... Making it just that much harder on higher levels is totally wrong... :notalk: ~D. V. "Things that get ganked lose me." Devnull
  4. I think they should be made the same as what this idea suggests for skill capes. ~D. V. "Good thought!" Devnull
  5. I found one problem... Only 8 MB for VRAM on your video card? Stay totally away from HD, you just can't run it... Why? No room for the textures. :( And here's another... You only have 256 MB of Main RAM? You're dearly in need of a RAM upgrade, doubletc. Even with Java 5 or 6, you're sitting right on the edge of a "no run" abyss, and since you're running WinXP, it just makes it that much worse. There's a reason that Jagex said "512 MB of RAM" is a minimum requirement. Their dang applet is a 'RAM Hog'... Even with 512 MB of RAM in the slower system that I use, RuneScape causes all the other programs in the system to shrink their 'working set' (in other words, how much RAM that they use) not just once, but twice! :boohoo: I wish you good luck (REALLY!) in getting onto a config that will let you run RSHD, even if only semi-well. : ~D. V. "Not trying to be overly negative... Just pointing out stuff." Devnull (p.s.: I know there are pundits who'd love to take a swing at me out there. Please don't, as I've already done that at myself.)
  6. FreezePop91, please fix my name... It is not "D-V_Devnull"... It is "D_V_Devnull"... :-s As for this idea for the skill addition, there needs to be some kind of advantages for higher levels, such as being able to bless more graves for exp every 20 levels... It would maintain balance, but allow those with the highest levels to bless a maximum of 5 graves for exp each hour... I really can't see any reason to not reward those with the higher levels (and therefore higher distances between levels) for all they have done. :-k ~D. V. "A lack of rewards at higher levels would cause this idea to fail." Devnull
  7. thats exactly what i found. when i switched to avira 3 months ago it found several viruses that avg hadn't in its countless scans. What's worse is that AVG acts like the RuneScape Official Client is a virus, even though it is not. Why? Because AVG decided to basically blacklist anything that is packed in a UPX format. :( TBH, I find that rather unprofessional (and evil) of AVG... Further, companies that start doing that aren't worth putting any money into. So, go with NOD32/Avira/Avast!/Kaspersky, as you'll be better off with them... Norton/McAfee/AVG all [bleep]ing suck. :geek: ~D. V. "Trust me, you would hate to have that problem." Devnull
  8. darkadvent2, I personally suggest you find a quiet place where you can get into a nice fight. ('S.O.S. Level 1, SouthEast Zone' is actually an awesome spot for this.) Once you hit level 55, then aim to high-alch metal stuff that you make from Mining/Smithing... This is how I find that I can make my easiest gp gains, and I thought you might be able to do the same. Remember, aim for 100% profit with high-alchs, which usually means making it all yourself. 8-) ~D. V. "Keeping to yourself can have its' rewards." Devnull
  9. That would connect him from the same IP as the Java applet which is rightly not what he wants, because it wouldn't help. My mistake, then. I was thinking that Mirc might have had something that could have made their computer look different to Tip.It's IRC server. ~D. V. "Whoops." Devnull
  10. This thread has my automatic support. This is one of the things that Random Events have been lacking for, well, forever! This would be a fresh breeze in the midst of what has become a stale hell[bleep] that currently exists. 8-) ~D. V. "You're right, misery loves company!" Devnull
  11. I'll support this idea... But, may I suggest alternative XP gains? Repair (Prayer Level 2) -- 5 xp ea (basically same as normal bones) Bless (Prayer Level 70) -- 100 xp ea (not really that much of an increase) Even with tricks like what was depicted above, it would still be impossible with these XP gains to use it as some kind of overpowered method of training. Keep in mind that a grave will only remain for 1 hour maximum, and then it will vanish without so much as a "how do you do"... And heck, I weighed the gains versus the number of times it could possibly be repeated per hour. It hits a 'dead-wall' long before it can get out of hand. :geek: ~D. V. "I think this would be a better balance." Devnull
  12. 10,844 <*DVD walks over to a nuclear time bomb, and places his palm upon a biometric detonator control. He's really thought of everything this time, including the proverbial "How To Not Let Anyone Else Disarm The Bomb"... He tells the bomb with a few mental signals, run through his hand, to detonate in 96 hours.*> Okay, folks... I'm gonna be back in a little over 3 days to this thread. The bomb will only get to finish it's countdown (and therefore blast you all to hell, almost needless to say) in the event that I fail to return, or I don't see at least 100 points counted. (e.g.: You're going to have to reach 10,744 to defeat this one.) However, should you succeed in counting off 100 points, I will be dishing out a nuclear-size set of barrels of cookies. So, you have as equally bad a nightmare that could come, as you have a potential dish of heaven waiting off on the side. And don't worry, I've Got Milk for all those nifty cookies. See you then. ~Mr. Delta Varuna "Hell or Heaven... It's your choice." Devnull (p.s.: I might spot ya the last one, long as you all have done the other 99... Obviously, I'm NOT a total devil... O:) ...)
  13. You would need a web based one that isn't java. So it looks like an ajax one. Or get something like Mirc. Unless you can't download a client. (BTW, that would put you in the same sad spot as me.) :| ~D. V. "[bleep]" Devnull
  14. The 128MB appears to me to be the actual amount. Just be careful about running anything that goes upward of that, and you'll be fine. ~D. V. "Caution is best." Devnull
  15. Hey, Hawkxs... Norton's firewall sucks compared to ZoneAlarm Pro (and Free) Edition, both in terms of "user involvement" and "rule setup" for access. TBH, your dad would make a very smart choice to rip out Norton's and put in ZoneAlarm. :geek: Link to ZA Free Edition  http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/catalog/products/zonealarm_free_firewall.jsp I wish you well. Either version is worth the investment. Heck, the Free version is worth more on investment, just simply because you pay zilch. : ~Mr. D. V. "ZoneAlarm really does NOT suck at all." Devnull
  16. doubletc, I need you to post screenshots of your DXDiag 'System' and 'Display' info tabs. (You are running WinXP, right?) I won't be able to make heads-or-tails until you do. Also, what browser (and version number) are you using? Providing such little info does not allow anyone to help you with your problem. :ugeek: ~Mr. "Info needed, if you wish to get that problem fixed." Devnull
  17. Yeah... really. <*DVD pulls out that Jedi Lightsaber again, and dices both run4runes and Napalm_Death to pieces... Only reason Napalm_Death got included was that they turned into Darth Vader.*> Not to be cliché, but "I'm the Juggernaut, [bleep]!!!" :P 10,848 ~Mr. Delta Varuna "You have been pwned by me." Devnull
  18. <*DVD comes walking in with a purple-colored Jedi Lightsaber, and slices Lya_Helix and Napalm_Death into piles of thin ribbons. He then walks out again, because he's got something to do.*> They EPICLOLFAILED  10,860 ... New Page. :ugeek: ~Mr. D. V. "When it gets that bad, I don't have much to say." Devnull
  19. Actually, the original thread was somewhat damaged by the idiot (who I'd still like to make mulch of) who caused the Forum Rollback in June... Anyway, this thread is the "resurrection version", meant to take in both HD and Non-HD images, and pack them together into a beautiful 'class photo' of everyone... May this thread complete, and not have the same happen to it. And in case you're curious... My Image is a few pages back... Here is a nifty pointer, so you can look easily. :) Link  http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=753181&p=6296747#p6296747 See you after the picture is done! Enjoy! 8-) ~Mr. D. V. "Thank goodness that there is a bright side to some life events." Devnull
  20. I head there where signal problems with those some where. I could be wrong but might be something to look up. Maybe it is just an issue with how the receiver is placed? Or rotated? :-s You mean falling out of the usb port? LOL! I was going to ask that same question! I would hope it doesn't fall out of the mouse itself, though. :anxious: ~Mr. "You're not the only one wanting clarity." Devnull
  21. 10,870 You're right... I need to lighten up a bit, Madam Star... Very funny, Lenin64... LOL! Sad to say, but you're NOT ME... :P ~D. V. "Must... Not... Get... Jumpy..." Devnull
  22. Here's a question, Mazemeout... Why not just un-equip Ava's Accumulator, and put it away in the bank until you want/need it again? You would get both decreased weight, and a spare pack slot. ~D. V. "Is it really that necessary?" Devnull
  23. I wonder what's happening, then. :-k ... On the PCs (One with FF 1.5-series + Java 1.4.2, the other with FF 2.0.0.6 + Java 6u6) that I use, I have no crashing of any kind with RuneScape's applet. :) ~Mr. "What an anomaly." Devnull
  24. Well, if all else fails, anyone who wants something 'corded and basic' can always go with the "Logitech Optical Mouse", which has a PS/2 edition. And unlike its' specs state, it will work with Linux, as will the LX5 above, and therefore probably the LX3 also. Although, under Linux, you'll probably only have basic three-button+mousewheel functionality with those which are more fancy... ;) Link  http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/mice/devices/344&cl=us,en BTW, I use this mouse on another PC in the house, and I like it. : ~D. V. "And there's the simplest option." Devnull
  25. 10,878 *sigh* -.- ...................................... ~Mr. D. V. "This wasn't meant to rub off on everyone, but oh well..." Devnull
