  1. I have one last question... Did installing Java again repair your problems with FireFox/MSN/YouTube? :| ~Mr. "Yup, I'm curious..." Devnull
  2. I think there may be a larger problem here... :-k why2060, is there any parental control software running on your computer? Also, have you run antivirus/antispyware sweeps? I'm asking because FireFox should launch easily, and to read about it not launching means something may be wrong elsewhere in the computer. :geek: ~Mr. "That's some unusual stuff." Devnull
  3. 11,056 Today, just some music, in honor of a good artist... Follow the link, preferably in a new tab, because I can not get it to play in high-quality with the applet that's used by Tip.It's Forums... "Scatman - John Paul 'Scatman John' Larkin" If only the guy had not died at age 57... He would be 66, as of yesterday... :( Rest in Peace, John Paul Larkin... You will be missed. O:) ~Mr. D. V. "Sure is awful that a good music artist was lost..." Devnull
  4. One last side-thought... *groan* #-o ... Poorly-drawn jokes just don't work. They gotta be drawn well to be funny, and/or make a point! Who would take such a lacking image seriously, and/or laugh about it??? :wall: ~D. V. "Ugh... <*Falls over...*> ... This is not funny." Devnull
  5. My opinion has changed so much in a year and a bit. So... What is your opinion now, eh? :-s ~D. V. "I gotta ask..." Devnull
  6. Even better, could we just get a table (or link to one) that shows info on what is vulnerable and what isn't? I don't like the thought of my web requests being hijacked by anyone. :( ~D. V. "Hey... Where'd the page go?" Devnull
  7. 11,063 I'm ussually listening music when I browse the forums so I never watch vids :-# Then tap the pause button on your media player, and watch some! I think you'll develop a fresh view on life! ~D. V. "Music ain't everything..." Devnull
  8. Nope, I've been forgetting the laughter. We already both agree that they have been drawing disgraceful art. I would just like to see them improve. ~D. V. "Why does everyone think I'm up to something, when I'm really not?" Devnull (p.s.: I've been getting all the LOLs I want over in "Countdown From 15K"... Maybe you'd like to come join us? Personally, I've had it with people de-railing this thread, just to get me to answer stuff.)
  9. 11,066 Darn... No comments on the vid? Did I fail in picking, did everyone just ignore it, or did everyone end up without something to say? :o ~Mr. "What the... Eek!" Devnull
  10. Then Google fails for not translating properly. As for me, I fail for picking them to translate the text. -.- ~Mr. "Damn... Fail." Devnull
  11. flsed, I refer you to a post I made earlier on, in positive response to another who posted before me about it... Here's the link... http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=5210129#p5210129 ...and just to save you time, I re-quote myself here... [quote name=At viewtopic.php?p=5210129#p5210129 ... D_V_Devnull] I fully agree with mchainmail about rule 15... Also, there are parents who have a house policy that doesn't allow display of adverts, therefore forcing the person playing RuneScape to be auto-violating that rule. The rule is effectively, in its' very essence, fully and completely unfair, and should be done away with. The parents (and/or person playing) have paid for the speed and bandwidth they have enabled to them for accessing the net anyway, and therefore have a right to choose what and what not comes through. (This normally puts control of the bandwidth out of the reach of the person playing RuneScape, I shall note again here.) Oh... One more thing. Sometimes the ISP is blocking the advertisement. Guess what? This means that the player who isn't seeing the advert (just like with parents controlling their house policy) is auto-violating Rule 15 again. But, and here's the kicker, in all these cases, that means that the fault is not actually on the person playing and they should not be banned for it. =; I can say, if I ever see anyone wrongfully banned over this rule, I will raise hell. :x ... 'Nuff said. ... and bid you a good night. Enjoy the reading, because you're right. Rule 15 is fully unfair, and possibly illegal... Especially seeing as I've had to help troubleshoot systems that have come to harm because people were dumb enough to follow such an unfair rule... And Jagex calls themselves "Security Advocates"??? They're nowhere close!!! :ugeek: ~Mr. D. V. "Even I know the truth..." Devnull
  12. We wish. I'm just trying to be serious about my comments and criticism, in an attempt to help both of those cartoonists come up with far better versions... Versions with a quality level that at least runs comparably to stuff I read daily... Call me crazy for being serious, if you like. :geek: ~Mr. D. V. "Heck, I insult myself sometimes." Devnull
  13. Uhm, that could be argued with. Personally, I think the graphical quality of your image is worse than that of what the person who started this thread decided to make. Seriously, dude, add some considerable details. 'Cel-shading' and paint fills, too. You can't be serious D_V. Nope, I'm serious. :P ... Go read "The Adventures Of Dr. McNinja", which happens to use such a style of shading on its' frames. At least then the spurting blood, the room, and other elements would all look half-reasonable, instead of looking like a 2-year-old scribbled it... -.- ~D. V. "Yep, I'm a critic." Devnull
  14. Now that one took a translator. -.- For everyone else... romu000 said, "Finally, we will be able to speak without being insulting!" : ~D. V. "I'll have to really start learning French..." Devnull
  15. Uh... you might want to read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_lag I have to think that statement of "No Latency" is sarcasm? A more appropriate phrase would be "Extreme Latency"? :?: ~D. V. "You have me confused." Devnull [Edit: Not trying to be a jerk here... just trying to clarify...]
  16. Uhm, that could be argued with. Personally, I think the graphical quality of your image is worse than that of what the person who started this thread decided to make. Seriously, dude, add some considerable details. 'Cel-shading' and paint fills, too. ~D. V. "Yuuuuuuck!" Devnull
  17. I know... Those people are sitting there with a giant exploit waiting to happen. :boohoo: ~Mr. "Oh dear..." Devnull
  18. 11,070 Finally found something funny by way of stupidity... :P " " by 'JosephCollins' k6sszx9Zd2s You know, I should have called it "Explosively Funny", as well as "Explosively Stupid"... ~Mr. D. V. "LOL!" Devnull
  19. LOL... The reason being that air time for the data to travel, and the fact that the upload and download lines are split in a rather bad, middleman-loaded manner... :wall: ~D. V. "Gamers and Slow Links don't mix." Devnull
  20. Maybe this would be a good thing, then? Put respect back into a cape that's lost respect? : ~D. V. "LOL-zorz....." Devnull
  21. While I have IE6 as an option, I prefer FireFox v2-series... It doesn't have limitations that v1.5-series has, and doesn't have any of the annoying v3-series functions... And heck, I've been hearing about FF v3-series issues anyway... Also, I used to use Netscape Communicator v4.08, and FireFox makes Netscape look like utter [bleep] ... :ugeek: Long Live The FireFox Revolution!!! ~Mr. D. V. "To hell with IE/Safari/Chrome/Opera/Netscape/any-other-stupid-browser..." Devnull
  22. Call me crazy, but you'll probably have to talk with your ISP about it. :( BTW, did your old connection do RS well, or was it as bad as this one is acting? :? ~Mr. D. V. "That's one ugly net link you got there." Devnull
  23. I've just been wishing for a particular method for changing mine. LOL  I am much of the opinion that locking stuff to a schedule like that was a really bad idea... I think we should be extremely glad that they stopped it. \ ~Mr. "Nothing but positive." Devnull
  24. Umm, see you? Umm, no? We don't need to be losing Forum Moderators over this. :notalk: As for more adverts, Tip.It would have to be careful... Too much, and half the of community's users disappear... :( ... Would there be any way to add some "text tag"-type adverts, as in the kind of a thing you find near the bottom or side of a page? You know, those short "text phrase" thingies with outbound links, but not as large as a 'google text advert'... :-s (Definitely NEVER the ones that lay into the posts on a page... I got really ticked at those. ...) ~D. V. "Whoa, dude..." Devnull (p.s.: Yeah, I'm one of the poor people who has to keep the oversize graphical/banner/skyscraper ads blocked or I won't have a PC to use. However, it does NOT mean that I can not contribute to a thread like this.)
  25. Just a side-thought, don't read if you don't want to................ You're getting full textures, no lag? Nice. : ... I guess the CPU I'm using (Single core @ 2.4 Ghz) is at fault then, because this leads me to believe that without the video card which is in there, I would be repeatedly lagged at full settings... :| ~D. V. "I guess something had to make up for the difference." Devnull
