  1. I'll admit, I stopped to research that before I locked onto it. If I had stopped to research a few more, I might have highlighted them also, based on whether or not I found anything suspicious. :anxious: ... Sure is hard, though, to pin all the bad ones down. :| ~Mr. D. V. "Yes, I was just doing a quick browse..." Devnull
  2. And you did it again... shame on you, run4runes ... You should know that it isn't nice to annoy your fellow thread members. :shame: <*DVD slaps run4runes silly, multiple times.*> Okay, now, where were we? Oh, yeah... 11,389 ~D. V. "I clobber annoyances." Devnull
  3. That's why it is good to have a UPS unit backing you up... So that you're not at the mercy of power problems. 8-) ~D. V. "UPS = Good" Devnull
  4. Hi there... In my quote of your text, I've located and bolded the primary one from what appears to be that nasty viral product, as well as other critical problem items that must be destroyed. It is quite likely that a number of those others (which other people have marked) apply in addition to the ones I've marked. Now, while I'm probably dead-on for anything I've marked, I'd wait for one last person to come through and confirm all that has been marked for killing so far by the rest of us. Better safe, than stuck in a bad situation later. :geek: ~D. V. "The author of that viral malware needs to die." Devnull [OT: Clare, where the [bleep] have you gone off to?!?!?]
  5. I like it when you put something in between D.V. and Devnull :( Sorry, I couldn't think of anything that time. :( ~D. V. "Gah... <*facepalms*>" Devnull
  6. 11,399 And you knocked me off-count while trying to post, darn it. Now I'm ticked off. :x ... <*DVD pulls out a giant hammer, and makes fresh wallpaper out of run4runes...*> I don't like having to backtrack and edit my posts like this. ~D. V. "Sure, I like the count on... but I don't like being pushed into faulting it." Devnull
  7. 11,401 If anyone really has any wish to see where the business world fails, read this... http://www.dilbert.com/fast/2008-10-23/ ~D. V. "Viewing 'Epic Fail' is funny, but being it is not." Devnull [Several edits caused due to having to deal with people in a rush... The person who threw me off has been clobbered.]
  8. Actually, that probably has everything to do with it. I would also tend to agree. :| Power loss with equipment has done literally everything from shorting out stuff forever to leaving it just slightly funky. Heck, I've been the victim of power loss a few times, including a TV that doesn't work anymore. So, I have taken a few measures (obviously with family and such) to make sure that kind of thing will not happen again. :geek: runescapeloser22, if that NAS device doesn't have a UPS device providing power backup, then I recommend you get one and put it into place. That will counteract most any future chance of problems caused by power loss. And BTW, if you wish to know what brand of UPS to buy, I recommend Belkin's UPS line. When it comes right down to it, they've got rather good power protection. (Which is why I'm a user, with my family, of one.) 8-) ~Mr. D. V. "When it comes to PCs, power backup is critical." Devnull
  9. You're welcome. We're always glad to help, here in T&C. : ~D. V. Devnull (OT: Wow... No last thought this time... Then again, is one needed and/or wanted?)
  10. Make sure your cookie exceptions include an "Allow" (NOT "Allow for Session") for the "forum.tip.it" domain. (BTW, having an exception for "tip.it" or "www.tip.it" does not count here. It MUST be "forum.tip.it", sorry.) Without such an exception, you have probably been having cookie errors. :geek: ~D. V. "Cookies... Hard to set up, unless you know what you're doing." Devnull
  11. You downloaded Ventrilo from the official site (http://www.ventrilo.com/) for it, right? Also, does your ISP have anything against voice chat clients? And did you make a backup of your system before installing such a heavy item? It may have messed with some of the computer's critical system files. :-s ~D. V. "I would love to know what caused this problem..." Devnull
  12. I'd almost bet something got corrupted in one of the directories that System Restore monitors. That would explain why the restore worked for you. :-k ... Anywho, since the problem is no more, I'm calling it "Case Closed"... But please don't lose power like that again? 8-) ~D. V. "Darn launch errors..." Devnull
  13. 11,411 It just adds to the suspense, folks. :P ~D. V. "It ain't THAT bad." Devnull
  14. It dawned on me that someone was asking questions in regard to a NAS device previously. I wasn't sure if it was you or someone else, that's why I posted the 'OT' question. Glad to know I guessed right, though. : Mysterious ... I think this is the weirdest glitch I've ever seen. :o ... Let's hope it doesn't come back, eh? :-s ~D. V. "I think this takes a '8' or '9' on my 'weird-o-meter'..." Devnull
  15. You're welcome, metalraider... I hope that tweak works out for you. :) @pryomancer: Thanks for the advice. Anyways, I learned that I shouldn't mess with something I don't understand, no matter how appealing it may look to change a few things, when I was young and in the hard way (messing with the BIOS setup on my parent's PC, for example #-o). Pryomancer still has a point, though... And it really is something I should have made clear mention about when I posted those instructions. So I am glad he mentioned it. Don't worry, you did an impressive job of typing in English. I will admit there was one slight error, but I'm sure you'll improve more over time. ~Mr. D. V. "Always glad to help a fellow Tip.It'er." Devnull
  16. I think I can give you a small hand with that... Just go to "about:config", via FireFox's Address Bar, and then use the search feature in there to find "browser.cache.check_doc_frequency"... Once you find that, set the value on it to "1", as stated by the info on "Mozilla's page about how to configure your cache usage frequency" (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.cache.check_doc_frequency) ... This will force it to download the updated image, without negative repercussions. :geek: And in case you're curious, I use that setting myself... Works like a charm. 8-) ~Mr. D. V. "That should fix it." Devnull
  17. This... idea... FAILS!!! :x ... Seriously, this would create awful packs of "Niche Groups", the variety and type of which would be staggering. No way will I ever support such a kind of thing as this ever coming into existence. Especially knowing the kinds of social damages that it can cause to a single person or group of people. :boohoo: ~Mr. D. V. "Forget it... this should never happen." Devnull
  18. Yomyth105, I support... You're right that we only just got the triangle balanced, and then Jagex knocked it way out again. :( ~D. V. "Must keep that Combat Triangle balanced..." Devnull
  19. Looks more like 1 hour, 15 minutes, given the times of their posts. :-k ~D. V. "Wasn't there a bit more time there?" Devnull
  20. That sure makes stuff you're trying to type hard to read. I hope it fixed itself on your next login, instead of persisting like a nuisance. :| ~D. V. "Ugh... text bugs." Devnull
  21. I think Jagex just made an honest mistake with their render for their message. Don't go mad over it. ~D. V. "Oi... It is just an error..." Devnull
  22. First off, please don't clip up lines like that... It only causes extra scroll distance. -.- As for your problem with the signature, it sounds like your browser cache is getting in the way. Please try resetting your cache settings to download fresh every time an item is requested, and let us know if this continues to happen? :-s ~D. V. "I really think this is not Tip.It's fault." Devnull
  23. I'm going to have to agree with both Laikrob and Pryomancer... There is a reason that Tip.It's Staff has a "NO naming names" rule around here... I'd hate to think what would happen if it were violated in such magnitude as with people like Zezima... :| (Note: Name is only used as a size reference for this discussion. Moderators, please don't hack my head off over it?) ~D. V. "Catastrophic things, I prefer to avoid." Devnull
  24. I just have good timing. LOL! Now... where were we? Oh, yes... 11,416 ~D. V. "I'm sneaky like that." Devnull
  25. Good catch. I hadn't thought of that. :anxious: ~D. V. "I'm embarrassed that I missed that." Devnull
