  1. Glad to see this has happened. Further thoughts from me are posted at the link: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=490092&p=6148200#p6148200 ~Mr. Devnull
  2. *sigh* ... Not good when old topics are bumped up like this... -.- Oh well... Now that it has, and the idea has come to pass as being used, I will provide a free link to the article that gives proof to it happening. :) 13 October 2008 - RuneScape Pre-pay Card Launched (http://news.runescape.com/newsitem.ws?id=1447) Enjoy, everyone, and may the good times roll... BTW, you might see me in P2P, if and when I can rack up enough $$$ to be able to be a P2P for 2 years straight or more. 8-) (That is, if I can stomach bank space troubles and decide to give up my "100% F2P" honor badge.) ~Mr. D. V. "I'll be darned. They did it." Devnull
  3. captainpoet, we need an extreme amount of system specs to really be able to help you and give advice that will have any true meaning... At the moment, you've been as clear as MUD with us... Please provide those, and then we may be able to give you some idea of what to do. Thanks in advance. :geek: ~Mr. D. V. "Info, please?" Devnull
  4. Very strange... I'm on FireFox 2.0.0.6 (Nobody yell at me, I'm not in control of the upgrade process here!) and having no trouble. :-k ... All I can suggest would be to downgrade one version level, back to only 2.0.0.16, and see what happens. :| BTW, I don't recommend this, except as a last resort... It will re-open a small hill of bugs (which you're normally unlikely to encounter) to follow this action. (Heck, it embarrasses me to even be thinking of this as an option! I am probably going to take a 'verbal ganking' over it.) ~D. V. "Downgrade? Not my idea of a good day." Devnull
  5. I hope this gets fixed soon... I hate persistent bugs. ~D. V. "Fix that bug already!" Devnull
  6. Yikes! I'd hate to think if that had been a creature popping up at random from the water! :ohnoes: ... Thank goodness that it is only a summoned creature. : ~D. V. "Whoa..." Devnull
  7. I'll support this idea... Clan Chat has been in serious need of several improvements for some long time. :ugeek: ~Mr. D. V. "Yes, that needs fixing!" Devnull
  8. Why the hell would they publicly sell it then? (Link to OSX being sold publicly) It the worst logic ever. It's sold because, maybe you have a mac with the Tiger and want to upgrade. If you read the EULA: "2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions. A. Single Use. This License allows you to install, use and run one (1) copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-labeled computer at a time. You agree not to install, use or run the Apple Software on any non-Apple-labeled computer, or to enable others to do so. This License does not allow the Apple Software to exist on more than one computer at a time, and you may not make the Apple Software available over a network where it could be used by multiple computers at the same time." In short, 'General Apple F.U.D.', which Apple is using to keep you tied to their expensive hardware. Downright stupid of Apple to be like that, in my opinion. Don't they realize they could make a lot more $$$ by not being so restrictive? :-s Oh well... I won't be running their software until they get their [bleep]s out of the gutter. -.- ... Heck, Linux sounds better. : ~Mr. D. V. "If you're going to be that way, then [bleep] you, Apple..." Devnull
  9. 11,516 Must have had something to do with cookies... :-w ~D. V. Devnull
  10. I have one small question for you then... What FireFox version are you running? :-s ~D. V. "FireFox trouble? Are you kidding?" Devnull
  11. Skatepank, if you want a comprehensive fix, GRUB is the way to go. If you only want a quick fix, pop in your Vista install CD and run a repair on the boot records. It should detect XP and make it available through a boot menu that you'd have to either call through a boot key or will come up on its' own. :geek: ~D. V. "Choices, choices..." Devnull
  12. Expanding on what Clare said, there should be a "Detect and Repair" option in the menus of the Office Programs. It might help towards fixing this nightmare. :geek: ~D. V. "yeowch..." Devnull
  13. Is your system home-built, or bought from a manufacturer? Also, could we have a bit more in the way of system specs, please? Right now, you are making yourself utterly clear as MUD as to what your computer is. :geek: ~Mr. D. V. "No mud, please!" Devnull
  14. Something on the side... Nope :P LOL  ... Alright. As for Comodo, I'm beginning to wonder if I should look into it again, seeing as ZA Pro v7 is harassing me and my family due to its' subscription being out. But, I am wondering, does Comodo do the same if its' subscription runs out? :-s ~D. V. "Yes, I know... I'm probably full of questions." Devnull
  15. You forgot to subtract one... And I catch up with these things... <*DVD drops an anvil on psvstef, and watches his target get 'pancaked'...*> Now, where were we? Oh, yeah... 11,528 ~D. V. Devnull
  16. Isn't it like that for All Windows OSes? :P Too true, sbrideau... LOL! No taste for Spybot S&D, Clare? :-s (Just curious!) ~D. V. "Ehh?" Devnull
  17. Okay... We're looking at needing Clare to get her what-cha-ma-call-it in here. It looks to me like I'm lacking some key piece of info you need for being able to make it stick under Vista. :( Considering Vista's new user-level privvys, perhaps you need to run it as Administrator? Oh, and when you edit the Java settings, make sure that it looks like "-Xmx***m", where *** is either 128, 256, or 512, in terms of MB of RAM. Agreed, on their needing to possibly run the app with Admin Priveleges... Although under XP, users were allowed their own custom settings for their JRE Runtime systems. I hope they didn't change that. :-k As for using the switch with a "###m" spec, I used a "######K" spec because it allows finer tweaking, thereby allowing a user to use only what they want. And yes, if we wanted to nitpick, we could go with "#########" (no grouping symbol) and break it down to bytes, but I think we can both agree that's unnecessary? :P ... As for your choice in using a small versus my capital, I'll leave that to semantics... Especially after having refreshed my mind with this page from Sun's Docs (which just happens to also work with the latest Java)... Although I think that the capital might be preferred with how most OSes do it these days... :geek: ~D. V. "Ouch... Yes... Uh-huh... Hrm..." Devnull (p.s.: Glad to see you, Makoto. : ...)
  18. Meh... they really should have done the MSSW in the "Free-For-All (Safe)" zone. I'm also facing some issues of my own that block me from joining in this year. :| (Good luck to our site's team anyway.) ~Mr. D. V. "Grr... Dag-nab-bit..." Devnull
  19. 11,548 And the count keeps rolling................. ~D. V. Devnull
  20. slymongoose, Joey said it. BTW, the only program whose resident protection system that you should be using is that of the AntiVirus. (In this case, NOD32.) Well, that and the one of a firewall. :geek: As for Windows Defender and Spybot S&D, do have them installed and waiting, but DO NOT use their realtime protection systems, as those WILL interfere with the AV/FireWall... Further, try to toss back in ZoneAlarm WITHOUT having those realtime protections running. (Do, however, install that as an Admin.) I have this feeling it may start working if it only has to worry about the AV alongside, and not anything else. ~D. V. "Late to the ball game..." Devnull [/hide] -Ah!, just the guy (I'm assuming) I was looking to hear from. -I had actually resolved the issue. I uninstalled both Spybot and ZA. I then re-installed Ad-Aware and installed Comodo Firewall Pro. Now I'm problem free and Firefox is happy again...which makes me happy  -Only thing is, I actually liked Spybot, and really would like to have it, I think I will try your suggestion of turning off real-time. Is it really necessary to turn off Windows Defender real-time as well though? As for as I can tell it isn't causing any problems and its actually useful to me. Comodo has its real-time going as well with its "DEFNESE+" feature, so right now my real-time consists of NOD32, Comodo and Windows Defender, and as I said, everything's working great. For now though, I'm gonna retry Spybot, without real-time and see if it works ok. If you attempt to reload Spybot S&D (even without realtime protection from it enabled) while you have the realtime protection of Windows Defender running, you're likely to have problems. In fact, I'm now reasonably sure that Windows Defender may have caused trouble with ZoneAlarm, seeing as ZoneAlarm needs very high priveleges to function, and can't stand anything messing with it. :? So, knock out Windows Defender's realtime protection, and you should be fine. As I said before, the only realtime protections that should be running are the FireWall and AntiVirus. Anything more than that is likely to cause trouble. :| ~D. V. "Yyyyyyeeeeeeaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhh!!!!" Devnull
  21. 11,554 Beethovens has a point there... <*whops run4runes with a trout*> ~Mr. Devnull
  22. no. you throw in $5 first Better idea... please quit acting like an "Anti-F2P Jerk" first. (And BTW, this is only an attack on your awful idealism, not on you. Don't misinterpret.) ~Mr. Devnull
  23. eggzs makes a good point here... If you got a request to run the signed applet, and told it never to do so, then you've basically blocked your ability to play RuneScape until the certificate expires again. ... (Or someone tells you how to remove the block on Jagex's applet.) ~D. V. Devnull
  24. 11,559 Hey, would you please check that avatar past an Admin? Call me nuts, but I think that's classifyable (sp?) as "Questionable Content"... ~D. V. "Uhh..." Devnull
