  1. With the exception of once I haven't burned a CD or DVD in a good 5 years. Ehm, HOW do you keep your backups? ~D. V. Devnull
  2. destroyon2, if you can get us system specs and an HJT log from the affected system, then we might be able to help. Until then, we're in the dark... :-w BTW, don't forget to use Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D, although, I bet that some ignores are already in place IF there are instances on the computer already. I'd bet that your friends' parents are dangerously computer-savvy. ~D. V. Devnull
  3. Got ya beat there... NOD32 only uses 30 MB, 2.5 for the interface, 27.5 for the core with definitions loaded and everything else. :D I don't suggest tossing away the remainder of the subscription anyway. Use it, then switch AVs after. : ~D. V. Devnull
  4. Of all the videos you could've chosen as an example... I wish he hadn't chosen that either... <*sends a report in...*> :wall: ~D. V. Devnull
  5. All of you, flaming like this? Sure, what that person did is bad, but there are more sensible ways to react. -.- <*Requests a thread lock...*> ~D. V. Devnull
  6. 11,655 BTW, read this... Link  Dilbert.com -- Scott Adams' Blog -- "The Creative Process" (http://www.dilbert.com/blog/?Date=2008-09-19) ...IF you wish to see what happens when a comic writer has been at it for too long. LOL! ~D. V. Devnull
  7. Yeah... :o ....... Even NOD32 doesn't have that many processes running! With NOD32, there's just two processes. The first is the core AV, and the other is the interface program... nothing else is needed. (Well, except the obvious case of its' hard disk files, but it loads those within the memory space of the processes.) And it still keeps the PC safe. :geek: OldJoe, call me crazy/mad/nuts/etc., but you seem to be in need of a new piece of PC protection software. :| ~D. V. Devnull
  8. 11,657 Always... always... Good to have more counting-lovers around. 8-) ~Mr. Devnull
  9. AdBrite, 2mdn, doubleclick, fastclick, tacoda, and quantserve are all rather bad as well. :| ... And the list goes on, seeing as the PC at which I'm posting from right now has a 7KB-sized hosts file, due to both the house policy and the inability to use AdBlock Plus with the current system config. About the only ones that don't annoy too much is google's and adsonar's, I would say. :-k (However, those are also blocked on my screen due to house policy.) On my old computer it was 604 KB. ;) I got it from here. Yes, I would recommend that as it stops unwanted parasites. But, it also blocks advertisements. I read that file which you linked to the homepage of... And I can say it is very scary just seeing the number of malicious domains out there. :ohnoes: ... However, making note of the 135 KB performance limit under WinXP, I think I'll add entries ONLY as needed to the ones I help maintain. :? (And people wonder why I'm security-with-functionality oriented? Pardon me while I have a nervous breakdown now... <*falls over*> ...) ~D. V. Devnull
  10. (Nevermind ... Missed the link in the post above until after I'd posted. -.- ~D. V. Devnull)
  11. Or even better, you could just buy an External Lite-On DVD Burner, so that you can do it all on your own. 8-) Here's a link to one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106056 Enjoy! I'm running low on money, and it's a lot cheaper to give the files and DVDs to my friend then to buy a $40 burner that I'll use like 10 times in my life  But thanks for the suggestion! You know not how much you would really use a DVD burner, until such time as you really have one of your own. Keep saving $$$ for later, so that you can eventually get one. You will enjoy the ability to burn to such point that you will use it far, far more than just 10 measly times. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  12. 11,665 You really should stick proper credits on your vid posts. Just look back at some of mine. ;) And BTW, you posted something from Spore, when you're talking about halo?!?!? YOU HYPOCRITE!!! Next vid, coming soon... I think I'm gonna stay away from the FPS's... :| ~D. V. Devnull

  14. Too true. Tip.It needs to change advert providers, and never come back to those blasted [bleep]ers. (Heck, I have them 'hosts'-blocked on a system where I can't use ABP with FF... Stupid FF 1.5-series core causing problems with Java 1.4.2 ... Oh, and don't yell at me about upgrading. I know it is overdue, but I don't control it!!!) ~D. V. Devnull
  15. Or buy an external USB one, you can plug that into anything then. Madam Clare, you must have not read my post and/or checked the link that I posted. You have only repeated my suggestion. ;) ~D. V. Devnull

  17. Ouch... This may not be Tip.It's fault, but it looks like Tip.It is taking casualties due to their advert provider. :? ~D. V. Devnull
  18. Bad idea... That kind of option would make it too easy for an RWT'er to set up a rigged duel. :shame: ~D. V. Devnull
  19. Duel Arena, and/or any other bank, should be good. There is always the "Use-Quickly Bank" option! : ~D. V. Devnull
  20. Ralag, just go pull out a maple shortbow and some iron arrows and range in the 3rd floor of the SOS... You can get quite a lot of ranged exp there. : ~D. V. Devnull
  21. Further, vleademir, make sure that you set all cookies for the "Tip.It" and "Forum.Tip.It" domains to "Allow" (NOT "Allow For Session") because that will ensure that your cookies for Tip.It's stuff gets held onto so that you can login right. :geek: ~Mr. Devnull
  22. LOL! ... They will probably whine some more, simply because they are a kid, and not the real admin of the PC they are on. (Note: This post is intended to be somewhat of a joke... Although, it may not be so much of one.) ~D. V. Devnull
  23. I'm seeing this stuff happen at GOP (the RC'ing MiniGame) too... I'm beginning to wonder if Jagex hit a limit in their game's design or something. :-k ~Mr. Devnull
  24. 11,669 Do I need to pull out another music video or something? Or shall I torture all of you with that "Halo 3 Tricks" series that I tripped over recently? LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!! ~D. V. Devnull
