  1. Or they could just change their listening port number, reconfigure their port forwarding, and encrypt their traffic. Literally, if your ISP can't read the traffic, then they can't know whether to block it or not. :ugeek: ~D. V. Devnull
  2. Captainkidd, it sounds like you need to seriously reconfigure that computer, such that you'd never have run into this problem in the first place. The Admin ID should never be used for normal browsing, and all other IDs should be Limited (and/or Power User, depending on situations) so that this kind of damaging problem can't happen. :wall: Anywho, getting down to what's going to be needed to fix that computer, like Dracion1 said, run AntiSpyware (and AntiVirus) scans if you can. Also, if possible, please post an HJT (HiJackThis) Log for the rest of us to view. And finally, if you can, please post up a copy of your Running Tasks and your Hosts File. While this might not be a virus or other malware, seeing what's happened may give us a pointer as to where to go next. :-k ~D. V. Devnull
  3. blakdragon, while we wait for that picture of the inside of your PC, I have a question for you. How strong is your PSU? If it is not powerful enough, then it won't provide the wattage/voltage that the Graphics Card needs to function. Call me crazy, but with how things are sounding to me, it looks like your Graphics Card isn't getting that minimum wattage/voltage, and is therefore crashing from it. :? BTW, if your Graphics Card is getting enough wattage/voltage, then overheating sounds extremely likely. :geek: Also, what are plants doing near the PC case? That really sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. :-s ~D. V. Devnull
  4. skatedog, I suggest going to Mozilla's Support Forum for FireFox and seeing if you can resolve this without need for uninstall/reinstall ... Something tells me they didn't do enough testing... :-w (Yeah, I know we're normally supposed to resolve it here, but every once in a while, something will exceed what help you can get from 3rd-party groups.) ~D. 5. Sara_Mange, just for the reference, which Flash version did you download and install? Also, have you checked out Youtube's Technical Help? I actually heard that Adobe changed Flash in some manner, and it can cause serious breakage with applets designed for/with older versions of flash. :-s ~D. V. Devnull
  6. urbestfreind, I'm gonna cut this to quick notes... 8-) 1.) If your DVD drive isn't reading the WoW DVD, then you definitely need to buy a new drive. I recommend something like This one at Newegg.com for your needs. (LiteOn FTW!!!) That or you can try the '.iso'-thing and virtual drive mounting. :ugeek: 2.) Use a comparator utility in regard to that "agp440.sys" file before you do any copying. Compare on at least 3 systems, if not all of them. I suspect, however, that a Driver Reinstall for your Graphics Card may be in order here. (That is, assuming that file has anything to do with it. I could be wrong here, as I forgot what the last mention of that file name was in regard to.) :-k 3.) You've got your AV managed for now, so I won't worry that much about that. But I must place one note of emphasis... Never run 2 AVs at the same time, for they will only conflict with each other. Stick to the auto-protect of one, only call the other when needed. :-s And BTW, I hope everything turns out well for you. : ~D. V. Devnull
  7. Hi, Yes_Its_Ross ... Please make sure your cookie settings for "forum.tip.it" (not just "tip.it", because that alone won't work) are set to permanently "allow", not "allow for session" :geek: ... Otherwise, your loss of login status can't be helped, unless there is something wrong with the forum itself that I'm not seeing. :( ... Just so you know, my own forum login is working perfectly. 8-) ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  8. 12,542 ... and I'm awake once again ... but can this count move mostly without me? :-s ~D. V. Devnull
  9. 12,549 ... Last one of the night on the forum for me ... See you all tomorrow. 8-) ... BTW, let's hope Turtlefemm joins us, since I left her a nice invite, triggered by something she said. ~D. V. Devnull
  10. Since you brought up Forum Games, I can say that all is not lost... You could cause a nice discussion to brew in "Countdown from 15K" ... Maybe get some bets running on how long that the Mods who are counting will be able to go without a normal user ruining the count... :-w   ~D. V. Devnull
  11. Just my opinion, but they could put messages like that on a different-colored background. Then they'd never have to change the font size because it would show better on the alternate color. What do you think? :) ~D. V. Devnull
  12. The correct hex code would be & I don't think I called "&" a "Hex Code"... It is only called a "Character Substitution", as far as I know... :-k ~D. V. Devnull
  13. 12,554 What's up with the ashes, redhaloguy? :-s ~D. V. Devnull
  14. Is there something for firefox to fix it? I have already figured out what might just fix it for all browsers in one clean shot. All that Tip.It's Admins will have to do is to replace the "&" with the appropriate "%xx" Hex Code, which should be "%26", and the feed should start working again. And if that doesn't work, they can also try "&&" and/or "&" to try and satisfy the feed reader functions. :) And yes, I'm experiencing this problem on FireFox 1.5 also, which means most any browser will be affected. :( ~D. V. Devnull
  15. Whadda ya mean, "weird"? It is going to be great seeing her as an Admin on Tip.It's Staff roster!!! <*DVD gives Turtlefemm's shell a nice wax job so it will shine.*> Congratulations on becoming one of Tip.It's Newest Administrators, Turtlefemm!!! I hope Tripsis left you a really nice seat to sit in! : ~D. V. Devnull (Note: My 3rd-person action is meant in a totally innocent manner... Please avoid misinterpreting it.)
  16. Just noticed the update on the first post, after my concerns in regard to having an overly high "P2P Max Diff. Limit"... The following emote says all I have to say in regard to it... (As in, it looks totally perfect to me.) ~D. V. Devnull
  17. T'was stickied noob! Why call me a "noob"? That's as bad as your siggy image that asks, "How I mine for fish?", which seriously lacks in grammar... :( ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  18. 12,563 ... Hmm, I wonder what this number could be divisible by... :-k ~Mr. Devnull
  19. This is just a friendly reminder... Please be more constructive with your bumps. Ask a question, or pose a thought-causing note. Why, you ask? Because if a new possible supporter comes by, and only sees "bump" at the end of the stack of posts, they're more likely to be turned off than they would be to support. :-k ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  20. Which is why you develop different sets of backgrounds. Background 1 is it's own unique image, with it's own unique text, and other images. Background 2 is the same in it's uniqueness. Just every background would have a different theme so it relates to that background. I know that, I'm saying when you give us a list of backgrounds with the woody colored backgrounds and a "fire" backgrounds it doesn't follow the themes of the others and makes then all look cheap. It's like the local Hummer salesmen also selling used cars across the street, makes all his cars look cheap. I guess I should remind you of the old saying, "One man's garbage is another man's treasure." Give or take a few particular types of things, this is basically true. So, why not let people have extra options? Why not make it so that, instead of being limited to one format, they actually have a few to choose from? :-s ~D. V. Devnull
  21. Gee, there's another idea... TBH, that is an insanely (not mentally insane) good idea! I third the motion with FULL SUPPORT! ~D. V. Devnull
  22. 12,572 Oh stuffing... I just realized that should be "Dawg", not "Dog"... ~D. V. Devnull
