  1. I'm not having this problem here, so I must ask... What are you using, Italian5kamikaze, for your Graphics Card? :?: ~D. V. Devnull
  2. I can tell you exactly one, and only one, reason that someone would use Win98SE... Games (both DOS and Windows) and other applications that just will not run on the later OSes, period. (And this is even after trying with compatibility modes and such!) :geek: Other than that, there is basically no reason to do so. So I hope this note helps. :-w ~D. V. Devnull
  3. This was sort of a different problem, but I was just stating that RuneScape HD doesn't work well either.. Killer, I think these problems are linked. And for it to be this bad means it is either your Windows SubSystem, your video drivers, or the video card itself. (Personally, I'd bet on #2, but it could be #1 or #3, sad to say.) :-k ... Seeing as this is not taking windows with it, I think it probably isn't #1... Try some earlier drivers, preferably ones where your full screen games (other than RS) actually work, and let us know what you get. :geek: ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  4. That one's obvious. Just look at the screenshot. ... It looks normal to other users, even though it didn't look right to the opening poster. :geek: ~D. V. Devnull
  5. Let's see if we can get Pure_MageUK to fix all that up, then? I do think it would be nice to have options for all of this in our user preferences and such. Then we would honestly never have to deal with anyone being upset over it ever again. ....... I can say I've had a few headbangs over a max of 3 levels while quoting lately. :wall: ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  6. JRE 6 Update 2, Graphics driver is Catalyst 6.2. Latest I can get. Only thing I can suggest then is to try both a "JRE 5, latest update" Java runtime, and a version of your graphics driver that is NOT too recent. Some older things work better than other newer things. :? ... (Please don't get mad at me over security bugs... I already understand there is that risk. :( ...) Other than that, try sloter's advice, and rig a dual-boot with a Linux distro. That way, you have both Linux and Windows to use. : ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  7. 12,154 I'd love to know the answer to that too... Maybe start a thread over in "Forum Updates & Suggestions" about it? :-s ~Mr. Devnull
  8. I hope that's rhetorical. :P ... I could think up some pretty awkward ones, including "dsaviblack"... :XD: ~D. V. Devnull
  9. 12,178 <*DVD makes Stilev drink a glass of Orange Juice. This causes Stilev to feel a little 'electrified', and then slump back in a chair.*> At least you corrected it. ... But if it had still been out-of-whack, I would have done... much... much... much worse things. ~D. V. Devnull
  10. That and all of my current stats have returned. ... There were a few before that wouldn't show, even though they were part of the high scores that made my total level. ~D. V. Devnull
  11. I have but one question... Have you filed a bug report to Jagex? If you haven't, make it very clear that you don't have ~$150 USD to pour into a New OS, and they'll listen and try to help fix it one way or another, even if they have to expand/bug-test their code again. :-s If they want the most business that they can get, they will fix the problem such that they can add Windows 98SE to their list of supported platforms. In turn, that will make a lot of people happy, causing more people to play, and therefore more potential money that Jagex can earn. And here is to the hope that my thoughts help. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  12. Pure_MageUK, wait... I thought the measurement was from 'Jan. 1, 1904'? :? ... Call me crazy, but something just doesn't add up about 1969... magmaguard3, as for the bug, I do have to say that's odd... But I'd bet Pure_MageUK can reach into the database tables and tweak that back into place. ~D. V. Devnull
  13. 12,202 a.) The person maintaining that policy walks past my screen every so often. b.) My browser cache is effectively an open book, if said admin comes looking. c.) I've got one of the best AVs on the planet running. If it detects a virus, there's nothing I can do to remove that from its' logs. d.) I have no reason not to follow the policy, because I've almost been had by viruses from the advert companies that Jagex uses (as do many others) and really would not want to have my private chat logs deleted/stolen. I don't think you want me to go into any more details, as the amount is quite the mountain to listen to. :notalk: ... BTW, I asked for a topic within the limits of reason, NOT something that was invasive into my life. :x ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  14. 12,204 Let's keep the count rolling, folks. I'd love to see this complete the right way within the next year or so. BTW, someone pick a random thing to talk about. My brain needs to function more. And please, make it preferably within reason, whatever you pick. :geek: ~Mr. Devnull
  15. I don't know if the following will help, unless it helps you get up to date on HTML and CSS ... But have a look anyway... http://www.htmlref.com/ ...and good luck to you. On the bright side, if you succeed, you could possibly post a copy of your basic package as something that others could use. : ~D. V. Devnull
  16. Pardon the double... It has been too long (3+ hours = too long) since my last post here. Anywho, I've found the solution to this mess... (Especially since I can't live without my friends on RuneScape, but I have a house policy to follow) ...and have put it inside hide tags for those who wish to view it. [hide=Solution Inside... Click To View.]With "Adblock Plus" (You don't even need the "Element Hiding Helper" for this!) up and running, add the following filters... advert.runescape.com/* */advert/* runescape.com#iframe(id*=vb) runescape.com#span(id*=vb) runescape.com#div(id*=tb) runescape.com#div(id*=vb) ... and then everything should be right as rain. Only disable "Collapse blocked elements" under the options for ABP if it doesn't work near instantly.[/hide] BTW, only use this solution if you're an F2P'er who is in as bad a situation as I'm in... Or you're a P2P who's getting had by Jagex... Or you're too freaking paranoid of viruses... (BTW, your paranoia is thoroughly justified, as I've discovered posts on the RSOF about viruses in recent adverts.) ...Otherwise, you could run into some overzealous idiot on the net eventually who just happens to be anti-F2P... :| (Post has been updated by author slightly for a small mistake with the filter listing and solution method...) ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  17. Your link to the vid works... but your throwing off the count does not. :shame: <*DVD smacks rushrock with a huge guitar...*> That should teach you not to mess with the count. :P 12,208 ~D. V. Devnull
  18. 12,211 rushrock, your vid don't work! :wall: ~D. V. Devnull
  19. (Auto-spell-check has happened to the quote above... Nothing to worry about.) Me too, Jimmy. I came 'hairline close' to screaming over this issue. But now, I'm very glad I didn't, and that this function is back in place. CONGRATS, ADMINS!!! ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  20. Won't help. Adverts would come through, and the house policy doesn't allow that. :( 12,214 ~Mr. Devnull
  21. Tried that, as well as the firewall. No dice there. ABP is the only thing here that's keeping the adverts from displaying, and without affecting the Java applet being able to load Unluckily, with that script being triggered by the Java applet to overlay the applet, I'm now stuck trying to figure out how to defeat that single script. Any ideas? :-s ~D. V. Devnull
  22. Yeah or Safari or Opera and see if it works. Heh... If only that were the case... What's needed here is a solution to allow ABP to remain running in FireFox, since Jagex is likely hitting all the browsers with these adverts, and put an end to the advert-forcing tyranny. (In my case, I'm not allowed to disable ABP, so I need a solution that works with ABP and keeps the adverts out.) Remember, switching browsers is not the solution to everything. :| ~D. V. Devnull
  23. As that one guy said in "HitchHikers' Guide" to Arthur Dent... "Oh no, not again!" (Formatting stripped from quote intentionally.) Oh well... I guess I gotta... <*DVD pulls out a huge watermelon, and throws it at Juhniz... It hits, and plasters Juhniz with a load of watermelon chunks, knocking them to the ground.*> Enjoy... Maybe it will teach you not to ruin the count? Anywho... where are we? Oh, yeah....... 12,216 ~Mr. Devnull
