CountDown From 15K - COUNTDOWN FINISHED!!!!
D. V. Devnull replied to Blaze The Movie Fan's topic in Forum Games
Already using FireFox, and having to use the "AdBlock Plus" extension due to house policy. And I know I'm only blocking the adverts. If I dare to not block adverts, then I'll find myself without a PC to use, period. I'm more-or-less screwed and stuck without my RS friends, due to an overzealous company that's bent on shoving adverts at me. As for the count... 12,223 ~Mr. D. V. Devnull -
Whatever Jagex is up to, I'm finding I have this problem too... That puts me without my friends on RuneScape. So I will be watching this thread... :| BTW, I'm extremely certain it is ABP's fault, but I have a blockade in my face of a standing "NO Adverts" House Policy. (As in, I go without a PC to use otherwise.) Is there any way to negate that overlay? Maybe with the "Element Hiding Helper" for ABP? (Could someone experiment and tell me and anyone other person who reads this thread?) :-s ~D. V. Devnull

12,225 <*DVD wakes up... And runs into serious problems with logging into RuneScape now, due to his family's anti-advert policy conflicting with Jagex's Advert Systems. Looks like DVD just lost the last non-forum friends he had. ...*> ~Mr. Devnull -

D. V. Devnull replied to RPGoof's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Thankfully, it would not have to track two million (2,000,000) people at one time. Only two thousand (2,000) are on a world at any time, so tracking is relatively easy. This makes it much easier to display to anyone wishing to know. So I still hope that Jagex implements it. 8-) ~D. V. Devnull -

Please Welcome our Newest Administrator Das!
D. V. Devnull replied to QueenValerie's topic in Forum Updates and Suggestions
<*DVD passes Das a non-alcoholic beer...*> Glad to hear that you have joined the ranks of the Admins. I'll look forward to calling on your direct help (or the direct help of another admin, if needs be) if anything goes wrong and was not resolved in the first pass when I run into something that needs reporting. ... [joke] Of course, maybe you'll want to be scared... What could I possibly run into that needs more than 1 Moderator/Admin to handle it? [/joke] BTW, unlike dsavi_x4, I think you'll do a fine job, NOT a mass "banhammering" of the Forum's Users. :P ~D. 12,273 @ Turtlefemm --- Busy, eh? That's no worry....... On the other hand, I've got online capability problems right now. They should be fixed shortly, however. 8-) @ Those who would ruin the count --- You're not forgotten... Your sleep cometh... NOW. <*DVD pulls out a giant staff and casts a plethora of spells, too many to name here. Each shot strikes one person or another who's been throwing the count off since his last post here. (They know who they are.) Each person hit ultimately succumbs and falls over, knocked out cold for a while.*> Yeah, I couldn't forget them. LOL  ... At least now they have been clobbered for messing up the rest of us. ~Mr. Devnull -
Someone asked... I'll answer... Got a laggy admin here... I'll be running FF2 or FF3 regularly as soon as I can, just you wait. :) ~D. V. Devnull

Kaphias & Jimmyw3000, thank you both for your kind and expedient responses. I appreciate them very much, as this removes any and all confusion I had before and gives me the ability to understand what happened. BTW... sorry I'm about 13 days late replying... Offline life = pain in my [bleep] ... ~D. V. Devnull

Killer, how long ago did you get the PC, and how long ago did this start happening? Also, can you get it to log what it is doing while it boots, and can you get it to not restart after a critical crash during that sequence? Further, can you get to Win XP's "Safe Mode Command Prompt"? :-s Having all of that info may help. :) ~D. V. Devnull

I accept what I need and/or want. (Otherwise I couldn't close my browser window by accident and come right back to the forum while logged into Tip.It...) The rest dies. : As I said before, I have my browser (FireFox, FTW) set up to prompt me for any cookies that I haven't set a rule up for... -.- And anyone concerned about 3rd-party? Prior to IE5.5/IE6, I didn't have control of that. And I only found out about FireFox after IE6's existence. It was the lack of control of 3rd-party, of course, that resulted in that spam I mentioned. (Yeah, should have been more detailed about that before, sorry. ...) Now....... 3rd-party is auto-blocked (as it should be) and 1st-party is on prompt (including session cookies) ... Being suspicious paid off for me. 8-) Finally, let's drop the whole rant @ me, and hope that the original poster has stuck around enough to understand how to better control their cookies. :) (@ Nadril --- Nice video... good sarcasm... but a bit overboard. I'm not out to kill all cookies, only the ones that are actually bad, such as ones with poison. Any chance you can find a video like that?) ~D. V. Devnull

Dynamic Signature Discussion
D. V. Devnull replied to MageUK's topic in Forum Updates and Suggestions
Uh, you do know what an anti-aliased screenshot does when you hit Print Screen, right? :-s Last I checked, the anti-alias is maintained in what is captured. (Unless my memory has gone horribly faulty, which I don't think it has.) This means that when you paste down into a photo-editing (or MS Paint) application, the enhanced quality is maintained. So go ahead and save your anti-aliased screenshots and send them in, for you should have no trouble. 8-) Heck, the quickest way to check what I'm saying is to just take a screenshot and paste into your photo-editing application. After that, save the image in both the Application's Native Format & '.PNG', and then view it any ol' way that you want. :geek: ~D. V. Devnull (@ Laikrob --- My apologies about that side-rail in the topic. I really failed to see something coming off my on-topic rant over the RSHD stuff. ...) -

WHAT CRASH?!?!? I've actually heard that prices for Rune Ores are climbing!!!!! ~Mr. Devnull -
I guess you haven't heard about what advert sites do with cookies that they get to place on your machine. I've had e-mail spam result from it in the past. (Spam that's never gone away since, BTW... and no way to put a total end to it. I've checked the headers and everything, it goes out of the USA.) So now I have the browser ask me in regard to any cookie that I haven't made a rule about. :| Trust me, paranoia is good. : ~D. V. Devnull

agreed runeite anywhere out of the high wild would hurt f2ps economy that is one of the only good nonmerchanting ways to make money in f2pand if prices went down to around 7k per rune ore that would hurt the rune miners in f2p that rly on that to make money As mentioned earlier, the alchemy prices will prevent price from dropping. Let me reiterate this point, rune medium helms alchemy price is 11,520. The price of 1 rune ore and 8 coal ore combined will NEVER go lower than this. I'd love to see prices go lower for mithril/adamant/runite ores. Finally make some profit (and potentially a lack of time lost) off high-alching with that kind of stuff after all the smithing is said and done. I'd also finally be able to look forward to 85 mining and 85 smithing!!! : Yes, I'm mentally possessed by the want for more non-wildi ores! BTW, Artificial_Doom_Flavor, have you heard what has happened to all of the F2P Wildi Runite Miners? They can't get any ore anymore due to Revenants! ....... Yes, we need Non-Wildi Runite Ores, because F2P now can't get them on their own anymore! :shame: ~Mr. D. V. Devnull -
why2060, I'm surprised no one asked the following............ What is your Java Version? (Just so everyone knows... I'm on Java 1.4.2 with a Radeon 9200, and having no trouble... 512 MB of RAM, 128 MB Graphics, and DirectX 9.0B, all on top of WinXP SP1... Only thing I can't do is login to the game with the HD applet because I'm not P2P...) ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
