  1. If this kid did kill the woman then he should be sent to a juvenile detention centre and he should receive some form of psychiatric help. However, he shouldn't be tried as an adult as he is clearly a child with serious problems that need to be addressed (again that is presuming he did what he is accused of). It isn't like the boy is 16 or 17 and therefore a borderline case - this is an 11 year old child. The issue that concerns me is how an 11 year old was able to get access to a shotgun to do this in the first place. Now I don't want to have a right to bear arms debate here but surely in a nation which allows gun ownership there should be greater measures to stop children having access to guns in their own homes.
  2. I know of it and I have a rough grasp of what is in it but it isn't something I'd consider reading personally as I'm not that interested in economics.
  3. Adam Smith is from my neck of the woods (Fife) which is ironically one of the politically furthest left areas in all of the UK (considering both Adam Smith and Andrew Carnegie are both Fifers). Fife is so far left that even during the 90's (i think) we still had the last 2 remaining communist councillors in the UK. Plus there is a nearby street called Gagarin way. In fact, there is an Adam Smith college here and in a form of protest at the colleges name, the student union named themselves the Jennie Lee students associate (after a socialist MP).
  4. Rap

It isn't just new artists either though. I'm waiting for Cuban Linx 2 as well. Raekwon has been saying that it was finished ages ago but it keeps getting pushed back (currently scheduled for this summer but no specific date). It just seems so easy to get a record deal but so hard to get a release date. Papoose did supposedly get to keep his mega advance money from his deal though so it wasn't too bad for him. edit - I came across this article about albums that never were, some of them are quite interesting (had to post all the links as the site is badly arranged). http://www.vibe.com/news/online_exclusi ... _part_one/ http://www.vibe.com/news/online_exclusi ... _part_two/ http://www.vibe.com/news/online_exclusi ... re_part_3/ http://www.vibe.com/news/online_exclusi ... re_part_4/

He did have a record deal but it broke down as far as I remember so his album wasn't released. His problem now is that he's lost his buzz, he never took advantage of the anticipation people had for him so it's going to be hard for him now. He has the same problem as Saigon.
  6. Rap

Well, rap literally isnt music. Music does require instruments/whatever you call whats made from a turntable, or just noises. Rap is *rap* not music. You literally don't know what you're talking about...again.
  7. I'm not too sure to be honest. When I broke my finger it was more uncomfortable than painful, I once fell face first when I was going up some steps which ended up with me getting cut to right to the chin but I was too young to remember how painful it was. The only decent one I can remember is once I was running about outside school at night and didn't see their play equipment. I was running full blast and it was exactly at the same height as my genitals. It was agonising to put it mildly. That, and the usual getting caught in the zip stuff.
  8. As for me I love Italy. I've not had the chance to go there but I will one day, even if it kills me. What other country can have cities like Rome, Florence and Venice - all beautiful in their own right, every one has its own unique history, its own unique architecture and culture. Italy really is the home of fine art with Michaelangelo, Carravagio, Da Vinci and Raffael to just give you a taste of the artistic genius of the Italians. In film, Italian directors such as Visconti, De Sica, Rosselini, Bertolluci, Antonioni, Fellini and Bava have been at the forefront of innovation and have given us the Neorealism, the Spagetti Western and the Giallo. Speaking of taste, Italy is the home of fine dining. Forget France, the beginning of modern French cuisine was brought to them by the court of Catherine de Medici (an Italian (daughter of her famous father Lorenzo de Medici)). They've given us Pizza, pasta and some of the greatest cheeses known to man (Mozzarella and Gorgonzola > brie or Camembert). The renaissance began to flourish in Florence. This began one of the biggest and fastest progressions in human history with science, literature, art and culture all flourishing during this period. Just after this period, Galileo almost single-handedly changed our perception of our place in the universe. The Roman empire was yet another extraordinary achievement. Like the Renaissance, it brought with it so many advancements which we still still marvel at such as many of the legal codes we see today. In fact, the Roman empire was so advanced that many Roman period advancements which had been lost over the years were not (re)discovered or equalled for around 1,000 to 1,500 years later during the renaissance. Now you can argue that much of this happened before Italy became a unified state but I don't care - I admire Italy and would love to appreciate it much more closely some day. ----------------- You do have a point but I think a lot of it has to do with when you've grown up somewhere that you get too used to it and that makes it a bit easy to cynical. I know I've felt the same way at times but I remember an exchange student who came to uni and was telling me how much he wanted to come here and why, he kind of convinced me and I've lived here my whole life! It was also interesting because he was French and had similar points to yours about France - a country which I've always quite admired. Of course we do have our scum, we have a lot of divisions and as a nation we are kind of miserable at times but we do have our good points, we just need to improve our bad ones. edit - Trapical have you ever visited or are you just admiring from afar (like me with Italy).
  9. According to me anybody who can afford 4 cars isn't just middling.

Could have fooled me. It seems to be a free-for-all when ever I visit a store at times. That quite often leads to arguments between a few people about queueing though. :P Old people are the worst, they think they have the god-given right to jump the queue because they're closer to death than everyone else. Hear, hear. My mother often shops at Marks & spencers in their food store, and she is often telling me how elderly people have little rants at her for being in the queue and not letting them stroll on by to the front. :P [/hide] I hate people who cut lines. whenever someone tries doing that to me I punch them in the stomach and push them on the ground. stupid [wagon] trying to steal my place in line dsfnfjndsgsdfgfds*mumbles a bunch of swears* Sure you do champ, sure you do.

Of course, black people can call me white, and call each other [bleep], but as soon as I call them black or a [bleep] I'm a racist. Justice pl0x? Are you a caucasian? If so, you are white. That is not a racist term. Yes, but apparently I have to call them African American or I'm a racist. Calling somebody the N-word IS racist, you can argue some black people refer to each other by it but that makes it a matter of context. For a white person to refer to somebody as that is racist. Calling somebody black or african-american is fine but the n-word isn't.

Setting rules? If you're setting rules before a fight then it isn't a fight. That reminds me of the scene in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid [yt]2y87EaadjqM[/yt]

Try googling it to find out.
  16. She may be crap and she may lip sync but saying she's popular because of her father is daft unless the teeny-bopper crowd are now into bad country music now. Avoiding her music is easy - don't listen to it, don't watch her show, listen to better radio stations and watch better music video channels. Simple.

Homework is vital in assisting and re-enforcing your learning. With education being so important nowadays, you need every little advantage you can get and homework in one of those advantages that is there to help you. Plus if you go into higher education you will get a lot more additional work than what you do in classes.
  18. i'd so be up for that. You guys will end up on one of those beheading videos. [/hide] Beheading Osama, right? You better hope so but I doubt it. It's better to give than to receive.

  20. somebody has no sense of direction :D Back around 1AD most jews were located in Israel which is in the middle east where Arabs live. Well if you already knew that then why did you make the thread in the first place?
  21. Others (ie. me) would say that only morons bump threads that have been inactive since 2007 to post such inane commentary.
  22. He's most likely still alive, if he had died they would have deified him as a symbol of his Jihadist movement - his death would be so much of a propaganda tool to pass up. He is probably somewhere in the Pakistani (correct term) tribal regions, where he will be almost untouchable as many of the tribal regions haven't been successfully ruled since the time of Alexander the Great. I've heard the diabetic rumours before as well but even if it is true, insulin isn't too difficult to get hold of anyway as it isn't something that you can get high of or addicted to (so it isn't as strictly monitored as things like morphine). Also it hasn't been 8 years since he's been seen. He's been in a number of videos since 2001 which have been verified as being contemporary and of being from him.
  23. Ah see I didn't know that.
  24. I think it does matter because it shows how history can (quite literally in this case) whitewash things and change details. It's even more relevant when looking at ancient texts (such as the Bible) and how details can be altered over the course of a few thousand years. ps. If BC is Before Christ & AD is After Death what is the time when Jesus is alive called?
  25. While people can argue whether Jesus was the son of God or a Prophet (as he is in Islam) it's pretty accepted that there was somebody from Bethlehem called Jesus.
