How are those Masters of Cinema dvd's quality wise? I've been looking at a few of them but I hate when I buy dvd's and the quality of the image isn't great.

Darwin turns 200!
As sarcastic as I know that comment is, Darwin's tortoise was the world's oldest animal in captivity when it died in 2006 aged 176. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/u ... 678631.ece

We get really screwed in UK in terms of DVD prices though, everything in this daft country is so overpriced. I always hate when I see a region 1 boxset that is far cheaper than our equivalent.

I thought you were supposed to be all seeing and all knowing as an admin. This thread could have been a front for distributing drugs right under your nose for all you knew lol. Anyway, what's on that 2nd disk of Citizen Kane? I only have the single disk version.

Gluttons Unite!
Words can't describe how awesome that looks. It should be called "The Hand of Death" though as it will give you an instant heart attack if you eat it.

If They found a Island in the south pacific with dinosuars..
I agree with you until the last part. It's called imagination. Well since zombies don't exist and dinosaurs have been extinct for some time, my lack of imagination (or my lack of desire to use my imagination for this thread) will not be an issue will it? However, if by some bizarre and ironic twist of fate either of these scenarios happen I'm sure I'll think on my feet.

overrated and unfunny comedians
The test of Frankie Boyle's hilarity is how often he makes other comedians crack up at his jokes. It happens, at the very least, once an episode on Mock the Week.

If They found a Island in the south pacific with dinosuars..
What is your obsession with the ridiculous hypothetical threads recently? First it was "What if you were a zombie?" Then it was this. How about; "What would you do if your keyboard disappeared and you couldn't make rubbish threads?"... I mean how would anyone possibly know what they would do if they were zombies or what would happen if man discovered dinosaurs.

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
While in most cases I agree with that sentiment there are some instances where you really need to pull people's card. Saying something moronic is fine because you can argue against the statement but when people start with racist, bigoted or something that is immensely outrageous to that effect, then I think that they should be admonished for it. Otherwise, if nobody criticises the comments, the poster will feel that it is completely acceptable.

Victorian Bushfires
I said just above 30 but I was a little off, it was 37.9*C. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3138865.stm

Victorian Bushfires
From what I've seen on the news it looks pretty awful, nearly 100 people dead already. I couldn't imagine living in temperatures like that, it baffles me how you Aussies cope to be honest. Up here I'd say that 18 or 19*C is good Summer weather, I think the UK record temperature is only just above 30*C and that caused anarchy - people were getting sunstroke and you could boil eggs on the tarmac. The thought of 46*C would absolutely terrify me to be honest.

Opinions on my Topic?
She's 10 years old, they're not going to be getting up to anything. There is no need as a parent to draw a distinction between children that young. A relationship for a 10 year old isn't what a relationship is to a teenager or older child.

Baby Thrown on Ground & Killed
I presume he/she was just referring to the phrase "innocent life". Also, would you please stop using that annoying dark red in your text, it makes you posts irritating and difficult to read.

Closed. [DO NOT POST]
If you make a thread and don't get the response you want, don't throw a hissy fit and 'close' the thread. You're taking this so very personally. edit - By the way, once your thread is open to reply it isn't yours to close unless you're staff. That being said, it likely will be locked because there is no discussion here but my point is that you can't declare it so.

The question of Belgium
Putting it like that suggests to me that this isn't a question of nationhood or identity at all but mere economic opportunism. I don't know enough about the issue to make any sort of informed point on this eventhough I'm sympathetic to a number of separatist causes in other nations (as well as my own) but going solely by the above quote, I would not support this based on just economic opportunism.

Let it snow!
What annoys me about today is that with just a little snow, the whole country grinds to a halt. Scotland gets a few days like this every winter but yet nobody is ever prepared. We deal with it a bit better than England does but we still struggle, it irritates the hell out of me. I mean people in other countries are able to get by as normal when there is snow, why can't we? [/rant] Lol isn't it obvious that the snow affected me today? Bloody train delays. That is a sign that I'm old, I don't like snow anymore.

Abortion: Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA)
Pretty much the point of the bill is so parents can't do that. If the daughter thinks that the parent doesn't respect or trust them enough to let them make their own decision, they shouldn't have to tell the parent. Then the bill is taking away parental rights, which makes parenting even harder. Kids are already getting screwed up, the government is just making it worse. The parents should be doing their job better to educate their kids on how not to get pregnant in the first place. Any parent who forces their child to either; have an abortion or keep a baby when they don't want to, should not be parents in the first place. To me, that is as bad as forcing their children into arranged marriages against their will - forcing their child into a decision that will effect them for the rest of their lives.

favorite beverage and healthiest Beverage
I came here to post this. Though one thing with that picture.. glass > can > plastic  The glass bottles are brilliant, I buy them when I'm hung over. Everyone used to steal the empty bottles from the Golf club's clubhouse to get the 20p refund on the bottles :P .

Religious Politics
According to Wikipedia, it was George Washington. It does claim that it is disputed though.

Outside of alcoholic beverages it has to be Irn Bru: It would just be unpatriotic to choose anything else.

Religious Politics
and 2 years ago i didnt expect a black president anytime soon. its possible. ------- "i swear on the holy bible that i will be... blah blah blah... defend constitution... and not take over the world" "ok you are now president" "ok good. first order of business: taking over the world" "but you just swore you wouldnt!" "yea....on the BIBLE" Not all presidents were sworn in using a Bible. At least one used a book of law and another didn't use anything at all. I don't know if that was true or not but I was thinking more about the mention of god in the oath itself. You know the "so help me god" bit although I just found out that that phrase isn't actually in the US constitution.
