What skin color do you think Jesus was?
He'd have looked like any other man from the middle east - a brown skinned man.

The 75 Albums Every Man Should Own (w/PICS)
Somebody's sarcasm detector is waaaaaaaaayyyy off today isn't it?

Rap
Not liking a genre is fair enough, everyone has their own taste. The only time I'll criticise somebody is if they completely dismiss a genre and claim it isn't valid music because they don't like it.

75 Albums you should own, Tip.It version
I can see people screaming sacrilege when my one is up because unlike most on this board, I'm not too into metal. Lmao wait till they see RnB albums in my list!

75 Albums you should own, Tip.It version
Nice idea, we'll need a schedule to make it easier. I presume Greatest Hits compilations won't count though since their not proper albums?

Watchmen
Not really, almost of all of the movies that I've cared enough about to buy are rated R which would be my favorite movies, which in my opinion would be the best. So no, not really a silly point, just fact in my case. Also, I've seen more bad films that were rated lower than R than I have that were rated R. I'm not going to do a case study to make my point but you'll find that many rubbish films tend to exploit either cheap sex or violence (which pushes the age rating higher) to try to get some appeal and market their films. Think about films that have been released after being banned and then look at how they're marketed. The whole torture-porn(sensor?) sub-genre falls into the bad films that exploit needless violence category.

Rap
No it's comedy forum. Either way you fail you clown.

Watchmen
A film's age rating has no baring whatsoever on its quality. That was just a silly point.

What Social Class are you?
He definitely has a point about people living beyond their means, it's just a bit unfair to state that an entire section of society do it. People who try to keep up with the Jones' are quite irritating to me personally.

Hip-hop, rap, talking over music...whatever you want to call it then.

The 75 Albums Every Man Should Own (w/PICS)
Why not? Because rap is just talking over music  . Or more likely they have no idea what they are talking about, haven't heard the album or are musical elitists (see the mainstream thread).

What Social Class are you?
I come from a working class background, my Dad is a lorry driver (truck driver) and my mother is a cleaner at the moment (ironic considering how messy the house is). That being said, I'm just finishing university in a degree that would put me in an office job which are hallmarks of the middle classes so I don't know...I consider myself working class but other could disagree. edit - Pyro you are now my personal stereotype of the British middle classes - I bet you love your twinings tea :P We could discuss class, what defines your social class, does it apply in the modern world, is social mobility becoming easier or not? I'm the first to moan at a crap thread but with a little effort this could be interesting.

Do you considered yourself sheltered?
No I wouldn't consider myself sheltered. I live in an area where I was exposed to a lot of things from an early age (it wasn't too bad - my family weren't in poverty and there are far worse places) so I was able to have a wide range of experiences growing up. A lot of it has to do with my own lack on inhibition as a child, I liked to go out and push the boundaries when I was younger (up until I was about 13 or 14). That being said I find a lot of people who I talk to online and my uni classmates have been quite sheltered by comparison. Maybe my childhood was a little too unrestricted at times to be honest. It's strange being almost the odd one out at uni in that respect but it's good to mix with people from different backgrounds (even if they're mainly from the same country).

Army attack brutal and cowardly, what's going to happen now?
Well then, why didn't Americans just move to Mexico to avoid being under British rule instead of wasting all that tea in Boston and fighting that war in 1775? They want a united Ireland, as it essentially was until 1801 before the Act of Union which brought all of Ireland under British rule. Now Britain is a predominantly protestant country while Ireland is mainly Catholic - this led to tensions and Irish independence movement began opposing British rule. The British parliament then divided Ireland in 1921, deliberately keeping a Protestant majority (many of whom originated from mainland Britain) in NI so it would remain loyal (thus Britain would retain some territory). However, in NI there is still a large Catholic population which resents British rule and their treatment under British rule. I've probably just butchered basic Irish history hopefully, somebody who is better read on this can join this thread and explain a little more clearly. In short another territorial dispute that can be traced back to Britain (see Palestine, Kashmir and various African nations for further glorious examples). edit - A policeman got shot in Craigavon.

Fallout 3
Not unheard of, the same thing happened with the new GTA dlc.

Army attack brutal and cowardly, what's going to happen now?
I don't think it will derail the peace process. The real IRA don't have the support they once had. They also don't have the resources since Gaddafi won't provide them arms anymore and the American's post-9/11 obsession with anything that can be deemed terrorism has all but ended the Irish-American community's financial support for them. The only way this will become a problem is if the government over-reacts and puts British army troops on the streets which would irritate republicans immensely. This was just an opportunistic attack in my opinion, they got lucky because after 12 years nobody was expecting it - presumably this was in reaction to the Special Reconnaissance Service helping the NI police service with training (which some republicans tried to claim was to pave the way for troops to get back on the streets).

Where are you from?
A bit harsh, there are worse places. That being said, there are plenty of other places I'd rather live (I'm thinking somewhere hot). Did you live in Bahrain for any amount of time or was it just a quick stay? (I didn't word that well). Damn I use parenthesis far too often but it's an addictive habit (I just like to add more to what I'm saying without changing my main point).

Study: "White People Avoid Race Topics"
Britain colonised us in Malaysia until the Japs rescued us in 1941. They surrendered in 1945 and the British came back and rewrote history, saying the Japs were evil. I know they weren't because my grandpa worked and made friends with the Japanese. With every faction in every war, the common soldier was not "evil". Granted, some troops joined the army because they're bloodthirsty hunters, but most of them joined because of the adventure, national pride, their friends went, or got the draft. It disgusts me how people think all the Japanese and Germans were evil, only their leaders were. But even then, "evil" isn't really the right word to use. Another thing that disgusts me is that how in the world no body ever knows/remembers of the Japanese Internment Camps? Where they were stripped off their property and sent off to poorly-made camps in the middle of the desert? Plus, being Canadian does not hide the fact that you should know this. There is a big difference between how Axis POW's were treated compared to how they treated Allied POW's. While many were interred needlessly by the allies in less than perfect conditions, there were few cases of abuse (except by the Russians) compared to the widespread abuse of POW's by the Axis nations (primarily Japan & Germany - I'm not sure about Italy). Also this whole notion of soldiers not being "evil" (I hate using the term) and it just being their leaders is terrible logic. The whole "following orders" routine was not accepted in the Nuremburg trials for a reason because it is a nonsense, people have to take responsibility for their individual actions. It wasn't Anybody with a conscience can tell that starving and gassing people in the camps was wrong and the same goes for the mass torture of POW's. To do these things for any cause is barbaric, the only possible excuse for their actions is that they were afraid of what would happen if they didn't follow orders, in which case they were cowards.

useless laws.
That's quite sensible actually, a scared runaway horse can cause havok. In fact, a runaway horse caused a lot of problems in Paris recently which caused the police to close one of the city's main roads.

Faces of Death
I've read about this film before and I just don't get the fascination with it. I find it quite disturbing that people would want to watch a procession of animal and human deaths (I know there are numerous stages parts but there are parts lifted from sources like news footage). I just don't see what is appealing or entertaining about that sort of thing, maybe it's just me.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Don't watch Blues Brothers 2000, it'll ruin all the good feelings you have over the original.

I think I might emigrate then lol. Being tall would be a novelty for me since I'm only 5"5 with no chance of growing any more.
