How true, Not. How true. However, this whole border thing is indeed a problem. If they want to come over, they should get here legally. When one talks about discrimination and all that, why doesn't the government just let companies hire the best people. Instead of making sure 30% is African-American or 20% Hispanic (I'm guessing on the percentages), just let companies hire the hardest workers. If they're black, so be it. If they're Hispanic, so be it. If they're white, so be it. Stop discriminating against Mexicans, blacks, or whites. Let the companies do what they want. Sorry for rambling, but back on topic. I think something that Bush is thinking is that if our borders are so bad that Mexicans can just walk over, then what about terrorists? They would just fly to Mexico and come in. Of course, if someone really wants to destroy something and have almost unlimited money, they're going to do it. But some of it is protecting us from terrorists, not just Mexicans who want to work for a construction company. If a terrorist was wanting to target the USA, it would be far easier to just fly to the USA, the mexican border is completely unrelated.
  2. okay thanks thats cleared it up a bit for me.
  3. Okay I know this is a bit of a stupid question but I tried looking on Google and searching the forums with no joy so I have to ask here. Im currently shopping around for broadband packages that are within my budget. However, most of these have monthly download limits. My question essentially is if I use up my month limit, can I still continue to browse the internet (like veiwing html pages etc.) or not? Its important because I need the internet for alot of my uni work.
  4. Yeah but since AC Milan were also found guilty it would then go to the 3rd place team of those 2 seasons which was Inter Milan.
  5. Not really related to the world cup but it is football related so Ill post this here; Anyway, what do you guys think abou the Italian match-fixing trial and the punishment that each of the clubs received; Juventus: relegated to Sirie B, Deducted 30 points, stripped of their previous 2 championship titles, banned from European competition. AC Milan: Allowed to stay in Sirie A, deducted 15 points, banned from European competition. Fiorentina: relegated to Sirie B, deducted 12 points, banned from the European competition. Lazio: relegated to Sirie B, deducted 7 points, banned from European competition. --------------------------------- Im confused as to why AC Milan didnt get relegated like the others? :-k Anyway this summer could end up being like a jumble sale for the big clubs as I can see alot of people leaving the clubs affected by this trial. http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=worldFootballNews&storyID=2006-07-14T201424Z_01_L147459_RTRIDST_0_SPORT-SOCCER-ITALY-SCANDAL-CHRONOLOGY-FACTBOX.XML&archived=False[/b]

Its ever so slightly ironic when Americans whinge about immigration. America was essential built on the basis of people emmigrating from their own country of origin to better their lives. Unless you are a native american you really have no place to argue against immigration, somewhere down the line your own family where probably 'job stealing immigrants' at one point. The economic stability and growth of several of the states that surround the Mexican border rely on cheap menial labour that is provided by immigrants from several south American nations.
  7. How can you have a car at 14? I mean, since your 14 Im skeptical because no country that Ive heard of allows 14 year olds to drive and what sort of parents buy a child a car at that age? For christ sake Im 18 and dont have a car, but that irrelevant since its my fault for being a lazy git and not getting lessons or working to pay for a car :boohoo: . ------------------ Anyway if you have that sort of money you should save it. Since you have to ask people what to do with it I presume theres nothing that you desperately want, so theres no point of spending it for the sake of spending it.
  8. Apparently in Brazil they got some people to lip read what Materazzi said, obviously i can't say exactly what it is on here but it had something to do with Zidane's mother selling her *ahem* wares on street corners, if you catch my drift. Thats true but here is where the plot thickens, ZIdanes Mother was taken to hospital on the morning of final according to TV today. So obviously she was in his thoughts already & Materazzi hit a sensitive subject. That doesnt excuse what he did though, its a rotten end to what was a brilliant career of one of the great footballers. Edit: According to BBC's Italian lip reader Materazzi said - " I wish a horrible death to you and all your family"
  9. Its wierd when people talk in thier sleep. My brother does it often except instead talking in 'dreamish' he has full blown conversations with himself in plain English. Sometimes its even like he plays differnet roles in the same conversation - like a strange one-man play while he's asleep. Its really unnerving to hear when he does it because gets quite aggressive like he's threatening some imaginary person.
  10. 1) Best Moment of the 2006 World Cup? A draw between Cambiasso's goal for Argentina against Serbia & Montenegro and the finale to the Italy vs. Germany semi-final. 2) Worst Moment of the 2006 World Cup? Di Rossi elbowing one of the American players in the face. It was pretty horrible, although I think he's eligible to play in the final. 3) Most Valuable Player? Cannavaro has been immense for Italy throughout the tournament especially considering he had to contend with his normal defensive partner Nesta being missing for much of the tournament. Only Zidane has come close, he didnt play well in the early stages and it looked like he was past it. However, he came alive against Spain and has been brilliant ever since, when Zidane is on form France up their game, thats why the battle between Zidane & Gattuso will pretty much decide who wins tommorrow in my opinion. 4) Worst Team? Theres so many to choose from, Serbia & Montenegro qualified well then got drubbed 6-0. Czech Republic are ranked 2nd best in the world by FIFA but failed to make the 2nd round. England as much as I hate to admit it, had an amazing squad but played dreadfully, got 3 wins 1 draw and 1 defeat but it could have been 2 or even 3 defeats in the group stage. So Ill give it to any of the above. 5) Best Team? I think that will be decided on Sunday  6) Early Predictions for the 2010 World Cup? Argentina have a lot of good young players (Messi, Tevez, Mascherano etc.) who will be vastly improved by the time the next world cup comes around. Although since only Brazil have won the world cup outside their own continent and they have quite an old squad (and therefore less chance to win the next world cup) Im going to say an African nation may be in with a chance. Possibly Ghana or Ivory Coast could have a go as they both have good young squads at the moment. Mark my words! :notalk:
  11. Yeah, I count on an impressive Henry ft. Zidane performance this Sunday. Let's hope the Italians don't go all catenaccio again. Funny, the French used the catenaccio style today. I hope they don't do it in the final. Well I hope Italy manage to win on Sunday. I've never seen them lift it before (they last won it 2 years before I was born) and think that it would be good if we have a new(ish) winner. But really I wouldn't really mind if France got it, but I don't think they deserve it as much. It's funny that Scotland will have to play the world champions and the runners up in our Euro 2008 qualifiers. Chance to be the true world champions again :P (we also have Ukraine(quarter finalists) in our group) Yeah our already slim chances of qualifying for Euro2008 are looking even worse now. Although alot of the French players are retiring from international duty after the World Cup so we might have a chance there plus we played well against Italy in both the world cup qualifiers. Oh & since FIFA ejected Greece and its clubs from international competitions, and since we're in the biggest qualifying group, I wonder if FIFA will have to alter the Euro qualifying in some way.
  12. I always liked The Shield, it hasnt been on for a while here in the UK but Series 5 starts on Friday so Im looking forward to that.
  13. France vs Portugal was a little disapointing compared to the other semi final. Overall though France played better and deserved to win the game. France versus Italy in the final, who realistically would have thought these two would make it this far? Not me anyway. I think Italy might win the final judging by how they played against Germany but I want Zidane to pick up a winners medal in his final game, he's been such a great player over the years and in my opinion he deserves one last hurrah on the world stage.
  14. Germany/Italy - Best Game So Far. It had absolutely everything you could ask for, and what an amazing finish! It was truly brilliant the whole way through. Even the referee was brilliant he let the game flow and didnt give many cards. As a Rangers fan I enjoyed seeing Gattuso do well, he had Ballack in his pocket the whole game and more importantly he avoided getting booked which would have ruled him out of the final - and that is unlike him :) .
  15. Well historically Germany have won the world cup everytime it has been held in Germany (in '54 & '74). Personally Id love to see Zidane play & win his last game in the final, it would be the ultimate swansong to win the world cup as captian in your final game. If France dont win Id like to see portugal win because they've never done it before, not even when they had the great Eusebio, and well because they beat England too, jk :-$
  16. You do realise they're fascists right? Fair enough the mainstream parties are a little poor but BNP isnt the way to get a positive change. The BNP live like its the 1930's where Britain had an empire & raped the lands it conquered of their wealth. I could go on & on but Ill leave it at this; A vote for the BNP is a vote for racism, fascism & becoming an international leper.

I like tupac's stuff from when he was alive but most of the stuff that has been released posthumously isnt great. If you like rappers who are lyrical I recommend Nas (particularly the Illmatic album) because he's even more lyrical that tupac.
  18. Yeah my mate is doing Japanese at college & he says it can be difficult to pick up as well, but he's quite good at it - almost fluent.
  19. Im not going to give such a highly detailed reply as Dusqi's post above me but I would like to stress a point. Peoples opinions are overwhelmingly based upon what the see around them and their personal perception of the world. Saying that Im going to go out on a limb & presume (at my own risk) that you have been raised in a family that has had no particular financial trouble, which is fair enough your parents have worked hard and done well. However, its not like that for alot of people who are born into poor families or areas where there is widepread poverty. Children can't help being the family they are born into or the area they are brought up in but these factors do affect their ability to succeed in life. Where Im from that is really obvious. Alot of people who I grew up with just can't seem to do well because of the lack of job prosects in the area among many other issues. Life can be a postcode lottery at times. From my high school, I can name 10 or more people who quite frankly were brighter than I am who because of their family's financial burden were never able to make it to further education and therefore will never reach their full potential. Also recieving welfare is not a permanent situation, many people use it as a springboard to get out of the situation they're in and into better employment. I know that particularly because when my own father left the army he had to go on benefits while looking for work, otherwise we would have starved - and finding work where I live isnt that easy. Actually to help explain where I live better read a little of this guys blog that I found today. http://drongomala.blogspot.com/2006/03/ ... r-7th.html ------------------------------- Sorry I know I did end up covering similar ground to Dusqi but my point essentially is, you need to look at things from other peoples perspectives.

I dont know about everyone else but Im really just sick of all these remakes, especially in the last 5-6 years. Its like Hollywood has just comletely ran out of origional material, either that or studios aren't putting forward the money to produce decent origional films. To top that off its not even like most of the remakes are that good, off the top of my head I can think of particularly good. The only recent remake I can think of that I enjoyed was The Ring. Its not even that Im against remakes as a rule its just recently there have been so many. Its a shame because I feel like Im dead against a film that may end up being decent before Ive seen it, and that if I even see it at all. :( ___________________________________ On topic - I did enjoy the origional version of The Omen just because it was so daft. It was one of those horror films that you could have a laugh at - especially when the music kicks in & Damiens eyes go red.
  21. sorry double post
  22. I can pretty much listen to anything apart from dance music (not generally 'music you can dance to' I mean trance, hard house etc.), Im pretty eclectic musically. I seem to go through little phases sometimes where Im really into one specific genre for a while, at the moment Im really into old soul music although to be honest Im not too knowledgable about it at all.

I saw it earlier today - it was alright. It was quite entertaining, the effects were quite cool and some parts of the plot surprised me alot (I've never read the comics so I had no clue).
  24. The same thing happens with me all the time because most of my friends have really poor taste in films :?
  25. True Romance Vincenzo Coccotti: Sicilians are great liars. The best in the world. I'm Sicilian. My father was the world heavy-weight champion of Sicilian liars. From growing up with him I learned the pantomime. There are seventeen different things a guy can do when he lies to give himself away. A guys got seventeen pantomimes. A woman's got twenty, but a guy's got seventeen... but, if you know them, like you know your own face, they beat lie detectors all to hell. Now, what we got here is a little game of show and tell. You don't wanna show me nothin', but you're tellin me everything. I know you know where they are, so tell me before I do some damage you won't walk away from. The Usual Suspects Verbal: The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. Verbal: And poof. Just like that, he's gone. Pulp Fiction Jules: The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. ---------------------------------------------- Vincent: Want some bacon? Jules: No man, I don't eat pork. Vincent: Are you Jewish? Jules: Nah, I ain't Jewish, I just don't dig on swine, that's all. Vincent: Why not? Jules: Pigs are filthy animals. I don't eat filthy animals. Vincent: Bacon tastes gooood. Pork chops taste gooood. Jules: Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'd never know 'cause I wouldn't eat the filthy [bleep]. Pigs sleep and root in s---. That's a filthy animal. I ain't eat nothin' that ain't got enough sense enough to disregard its own faeces. Vincent: How about a dog? Dogs eats its own feces. Jules: I don't eat dog either. Vincent: Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? Jules: I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way. Vincent: Ah, so by that rationale, if a pig had a better personality, he would cease to be a filthy animal. Is that true? Jules: Well we'd have to be talkin' about one charmin' motherf------' pig. I mean he'd have to be ten times more charmin' than that Arnold on Green Acres, you know what I'm sayin'? I was going to post more but I think thats more than enough.
