I was thinking about this, how I see it is that if you have a Quest cape and a single 99 skill your Quest cape gets trimmed, but your 99 cape will stay untrimmed.

For you to say single hybrid increases profit is true but also increases risk. With another hybrid you can get twice as many kills in meaning in theory you can get twice the amount of drops

Exp hasn't changed as far as I know. AFAIK, you get 72.5 from the L6 Arena, and around 90 from L6 Normal. Considering it only costs a cosmic rune, it's damn good experience. One of the fastest ways to train magic.
