  1. I don't think it will, you know. I think if clans actually organise themselves properly, this could turn into something. Especially with the temptation for skillers to train with the new gloves. It depends on the clans though. Even if it doesn't take off, demand for food and pots will increase and this will provide more profits for herblorists, cooks and fishers. Some sort of player combat system is needed to kick start the economy again.
  2. I didn't say you annoyed me. -.- I don't understand though. You've brought up an example where a person wants to live to spend more time with their family. Where's the euthanasia? I think it pretty much stands to reason that if a person wants to live we should let him.

I'd take you all on in a Brawl, except you're never on when I'm awake!
  4. What's so emo about a simple phylosophical question? It's just all the topics and death and the point in life. I'm thinking of the Euthanasia and the Happiness threads too. I'm cool with it anyway. I love these sorts of questions. I think you're right. If humans have the capability of intelligent and free thought then there must be something more to our existence than merely reproducing for the species' survival. We're all different though, so that "more" depends on the person you are, and what matters to you personally.
  5. Why's this forum so emo lately? Not that I mean any offense to emos. The point of life is whatever you make it. I have an idea of what I want to do with mine, how I want to use it to shape the world around me, what I want to do when I'm older. I wouldn't say my life is pointless. I've got so much left to do.
  6. Not if other people have called it an RPG, no. It's called "quoting". I'm just putting forward an argument to suggest RuneScape is not an RPG, an argument that you have not addressed yet. I am allowed to disagree with people.
  7. Firstly, you're welcome. Anytime. Secondly, good for you. I'm just saying I personally didn't find them funny at all. The comedy was dry, I like a bit of wit. Finally, please learn how to use logic. Just because something self-proclaims something doesn't mean it is that thing. To prove this with a suitable example, I proclaim that I am in fact Finnish with pink hair.
  8. Are we seriously suggesting that by the law of averages, and given there are billions of surfaces out there in space, that not one of them would be able to support life? There's no proof either way, but I find that thesis logically implausible.
  9. Firstly, RS quests are amusing? My local dairy contains less cheese than they do... What RPG element? Success in RuneScape is overwhelmingly judged by one thing - your skill levels. Oh yeah, and luck with monster drops. That's not an RPG, it's an adventure game. An RPG element would be me not having to train skills but still making some sort of success through other avenues.

Stop here. Look at the way you're buying things. You'll get a laptop, but you'll need games, so you'll need more money for that. You want a ski pass, but you need money to afford for that hobby. You like paintballing, so you might go out for more than one night on the odd week. You'll just pay off the $800 now, and roll up more debt later. Just stop buying things you don't need. Sure, I'd love to be able to buy a load of DS games, but I can't. That's life.
  11. So you're effectively blaming Bill Clinton for this mess? Ahh shock, he's a Democrat. Didn't see that coming. The Republicans had control of the White House and Congress for four years. The Democrats were no where in sight. If Bush was as much of a prophet as you claim, why didn't he change the system? He had ample opportunity to do so. I don't personally blame any specific person or group of people for this. I blame the thinking over the past 20 years that free market privatisation is always the best option, and if you want anyone to blame for that, blame Thatcher. I also point to the number of Republicans in the bail-out vote who felt ideologically uncomfortable with the state getting involved in the banking sector. Do you wish to blame their reluctance on the Democrats as well? The US has gone about this all wrong. Gordon Brown seems to have chosen the right option, and the rest of Europe seems to be following suit. Part-nationalise the banks. If they're such a vital part of the economic structure of capitalism, and they're at the verge of collapse, then the state should take over. With the state's weight behind the banks, confidence improves, and shares rise. When things are better, you sell the shares off. Maybe for a loss, maybe for a profit, but no where near the $700B mark. I was never a fan of trickle-down economics. You'll seldom meet many people in Europe who are. They are grossly inadequate for the poorer classes, which constitute the majority of a population in any truly capitalist state.

I think MK will be banned eventually. I think the only reason Fox/Falco weren't in SSBM was because they both had characters which bettered them on paper in a match-up and also the difference between those two and the High Tier (i.e., Marth) wasn't that big. MK's much better than 3D, Snake, Falco and G&W though, and he's got no negative match-ups, no matter how many MK mains try and convince us there's a 45-55 one somewhere.
  13. There are certain aspects that you can consider advantageous to your family, such as extra years to spend with them. Everyone likes that. Also, though in pain, it could give a person time to think about their life and what they have done with it, and maybe get a few things done relationship-wise with a few people. See, it's this attitude towards life that annoys me. That you should stay alive because friends and family want to be close to you. If one of my closest friends or a member of my family was finding life so unbearable, and they'd tried everything to feel better, I wouldn't want them to stay alive just because they think I'd miss them. To me, that just seems incredibly selfish. If I was half the friend I claim to be, I'd respect that it's nothing personal and they'll be happier in death than in life, so it's the right thing for them. Asking someone to stay around just because you'll personally miss seems natural but also very self-centered.
  14. Are you that desperate for the first post? I don't play RuneScape.
  15. Yay! More pseudo-psychology! Everyone loves that. I got 26 and as you can probably tell from my tone I'm actually quite happy and content so... I don't really trust this. Just because I answered "Very much" to "I am agitated and keep moving around", but I'm like that anyway. In fact, I do it more when I'm excited, not less.
  16. I remember you. I can never forget the cube thing in your signature.

That is why TL should have a tier of his own, below high and above medium. : Anyone want a game?
  18. It's not as simple as that. Sex means different things depending on the level of maturity in the persons involved. Some may take it as just a feeling, some may take it as something more emotional. The feeling is that the younger you are, the more diluted that distinction becomes, and you're entering muddy waters. Then there's also the whole issue of peer pressure, which is so obvious, I won't elabourate on.

Happiness and wellbeing are two different things. I could have all the money in the world with which I could entertain myself to my heart's desire, have the best private health insurance possible, eat the best food, associate myself with the perfect company - but would I be happy? I can honestly say I wouldn't. Why? Because I'm well, not happy. I'm in a constant state of perfection. What's there to be happy about? I can't ever be not well off, so it's a redundant emotion. Sometimes, you have to fall a little in order to realise what made you feel good initially. Happiness for me is as much a realisation I'm getting over the bad times as looking forward to the good times. Friends don't make me feel happy about that, just comforted they'll be there, for when times get bad again. All that does is allow me to be more confident about myself, but that alone doesn't make me happy. For me, happiness lies in the adventure of life, not the meaning of it.
  20. That's like paying to give your son CTS. They must not get along.
  21. Exactly. There is a problem with people being offensive, full stop. Where people make generalised comments like that against a group of people it becomes a personal attack and that should be clamped down on. I find topics like that distasteful too. The problem isn't that religion is involved. The problem is that some people can't control themselves, and those people need to be "educated" in how to keep certain views to themselves. As others have said, Bari, if you want a forum where religious views are protected, go to a religious forum. You know as much as anyone Tip.It has a fairly liberal slant, and liberalism itself tends to be in favour of free scientific thought which itself runs counter to the concept of theism. Let's face it. The OT forum seldom has any worthwhile debate threads these days. Let's not kill it even more. I mean, hell, the elections thread produces 70% to Obama and just 20% to McCain - way off the averages.

On MK: Santi (Best TL player on Smashboards, IMO) was telling us about his latest tourney. He somehow managed to beat Hylian's MK in what can only be described as the best match I have ever seen in the loser's finals. There's a YouTube video (which reminds me, get a dazzle card Mac and we can watch you :P): [hide=]shqCX-fnSlg [/hide] You'd think Santi would go on to win the tourney after a performance like that? No. He got three stocked in the final by Dojo (I think). MK should have a tier of his own. Stupid nub character.
  23. A country (strike that, alliance (Tip.It needs a tag)) invades wherever you live. They completely destroy your infrastructure, which is a good thing, seeing as your current leaders regime killed something like what, 600,000 of his own people? And started a Genocide and a useless war with Iran and Kuwait, which devastated your country. set up a government of their own moral values, which is run by Iraqi's who can change that eventually if need be, and remain inside your country to maintain stability and try to make the country be able to sustain itself. Fix'd. Go back and answer the point I was making. I was stating facts, not condemnations. I just checked Wikipedia. There's not one single mention of Obama and terrorism, let alone the hordes of evidence you suggest are present. It does however talk about his stance against nuclear terrorism. For your own political reasons, we will gloss over this point of discussion. Dude, let's not kid ourselves here. An article on Barack Obama on Wikipedia is not ever going to be accurate at all. Even locked down with certain people updating it. I have no idea if he has any affiliations or not, but you should know not to such a potentially contested source :P. Well, he claimed there was this insight to Obama's accusations of terrorism. I'm just going by what he's saying, and clearly what he is saying is wrong. I know full well not to use an encyclopaedia as a source unless it's stating completely impartial facts or simply describing.

Well, it's up to you I guess. But it would be like the Red Sox having the choice of playing at Fenway Park or Yankee Stadium and choosing a flight to New York. If you're having trouble picking stages, then Smashboards usually has a stage guide for each character. In general, long stages favour projectile users though, and stages with short ceilings favour those who kill at low %s. Explain? Hitbox - basically, when an attack hits even though it doesn't visually, if that makes sense. A "john" is an excuse made for a poor performance. For example, if someone makes excuses up for why they lost, you turn round and say "No johns". A lagless move is one that has no lag to it. In other words, you can move, attack, dodge (etc.) straight after.
