And to no surprise, manoman goes through 4-1 without even using his Olimar main. :XD: Good games. At least I got one win. :

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
Just because he can't prove something doesn't mean it's true. That's argument ad ignorantiam. I could ask you to disprove that there's a purple elephant inside the sun, and you'd be unable to... but that's completely irrelevant to the truth. How am I being ignorant, or basing my opinion on ignorance? There is no evidence to suggest homosexuality is wrong, thus I have no reason to believe it is. Any opinion differing from that would be ignorant to the fact there is no evidence to the contrary. And that's a completely pointless argument I hear quite frequently from religious people. The point is, I'm not saying a purple elephant does exist inside the Sun. You, on the other hand, seem to believe it does exist on the grounds it hasn't yet been disproved. To anyone with an ounce of common sense, that is a completely ridiculous way of looking at the world. Second to that, yes, we can disprove that a purple elephant lives inside the Sun quite easily, nullifying your argument anyway. A judgement comes from evidence. You have none. Your judgement is therefore impaired and may as well be guesswork. Religion isn't an excuse for a lack of understanding. ***It has no scientific evidence, and is therefore baseless if science is your only source of truth. Again, an argument isn't repeating what another person has shoved into my mouth since I was born. Science or otherwise, you have no evidence of any kind whatsoever to prove homosexuality is wrong, or even unnatural. You only have your own self-righteous principles, which are also completely unjustified, and bordering illegal too. So unless you actually provide anything which might convince me otherwise, I will continue to believe the Christian Church has no reason for its stance on homosexuality other than narrow minded prejudice. If you wish to continue this, shoot my PM box. My work here is done.

Two Crewbies stacked against each other. Almost sounds epic if it wasn't so sad. :P I'll PM manoman and arrange a time.

Patriotism and Nationalism
I have a love for my country. I feel huge pride in the NHS, the BBC and the common values people in the UK share - tolerance, liberalism, democracy (etc.). That's a form of patriotism, and yes in that sense I am patriotic. Nationalism is something quite different though. Then you're talking loyalty towards a particular ethnic group, in my case, the British people. Britain itself is hugely mixed in terms of ethnicity; even those who class themselves as 'White British' are likely to have some sort of Irish or European connection. There is no pure Anglo-Saxon race in this country, therefore nationalism in here is somewhat twisted and distorted. Instead of pride in our own ethnicity, it becomes a hatred of others who do have the firm ethnic and national identity we lack. Clearly, nationalism in that sense is something I would never feel anything but intolerance for.

Can I face Lenin please? Then if he disconnects, I get an easy win. : As for Ike, I actually read up on gamefaqs. I've found the bomb + downwards aerial attack combo works amazingly well. Once you get him off guard, deal some damage with swift attacks, throwing a boomerang every now and then just to keep him off his feet, and follow through with a standard aerial attack. It's all in the short hop. Like I said, easy in a 1 on 1 stock match. Not so easy with 2 minutes in a four-way brawl. :P Plus I actually found the Zero Suit Samus trophy more difficult to get anyways. Whenever I got a final smash with Samus, the NPC just walked straight into the beam... -.-

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
^ That's a weak argument. Thinking something just because that's what you've been told. Have you actually ever questioned the validity of your parents'/religion's opinion on homosexuality? I've always been taught by my Dad that Communism is the best form of social structure. I don't agree with him though, having gone away, researched Communism and spotted flaws which lead me to believe he's wrong. OK, I'm still pretty far-left in terms of my politics, but I don't follow everything I've been told to believe in blindly. I have my own moral principles. That's half of what growing up is about - questioning authority. I'm not forcing my beliefs on you, but I am genuinely curious - what is wrong with a man feeling an emotional attraction to another man, or a woman feeling the same way about another woman? "Because God didn't intend for things to happen that way... Adam and Eve (blah blah blah)" isn't an argument. It has no evidence, and is therefore baseless.

In stock matches, yes. I'm breezing through Classic Mode and All-Star. Already done all the events, and completed SSE to 90%. I used to play Melee and the original so I'm what you might call a veteran. Ooo... plus I've got a Tabuu trophy. : Going online is a different matter though. I play as Toon Link so it's just too easy for the Ikes to get a cheap shot when I'm around 50% and knock me off. -.- I've never faced anyone on here though. For the RRoD, stick near the centre of the stage, remain calm and focused, and time your rolls. That's the best strategy I've come up with. Works most of the time.

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
So summed up, your argument is "I don't think I'm better than anyone else, I just think gays are worse than me for acting the way they do". Whatever. See, I'm not anti-religious but this is what annoys me. You believing you're so much better than anyone else because a religion founded 2000 years ago tells you that you are. What evidence, or even what right, have you got to call homosexuality a sin? Unless of course what Jesus really meant was, "Love thy neighbour, hate thy gay". In which case, I apologise for my complete misunderstanding of Christianity.

Facebooks, Myspaces etc.
Look, I ain't judging you guys that do use social networking sites. You clearly don't have a clue about our opinion, so don't second guess us please. It isn't about being rebellious, or snobbish, or whatever. It's just that there are already several ways people can get hold of me already - a social networking site is just another thing I'd have to check each and every day to catch up with people. It's not worth the time. I'd rather people just email/text me. Then it's actually a private conversation too and instead of a broadcast to the whole world.

Facebooks, Myspaces etc.
I can't really stick MySpace or Facebook. The people on them are too self-centred. It's all about who's got the most page views, or who's got the best photos, or who's friends with the latest local band. Secondly, most of these people are only on those sites 'coz they're bored so they're not really that interesting to talk to anyway. If people want to talk to me, they know where I live, they know my mobile number, they know my email address. Why do I need some website to organise my social life for me, or put my life story up on a page in order to attract new friends? I'm an adult for Christ's sake.

If he'd have made a new topic, he'd have been hounded for not using the Search button. Sometimes I get the feeling people can't win either way when they revive dead topics...

While I respect you aren't opposed to homosexuality ( ), the part about Anglicanism's stance on homosexuality doesn't apply to all Anglicans at all: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7481349.stm

You gotta WAIT, yes WAIT, until they drop out of the sky! The higher the difficulty, the more will drop. I tried doing it with Porky. I got one, but it landed to the other side of him and he was attacking me so I couldn't get it. :wall:

Image discussion
^ Exactly what n_odie says. I could draw out a long, sophisticated list on which programs produce .gif files which keep the same quality, but I doubt anyone would want to read it. If you know how to make .gif files in good quality, then I'd be happy to accept. I'm just saying .png format as a way of including everyone no matter what program they're using.

July 1st - Jagex Raises Prices
I don't mind paying more anyway. £3.20 seemed ridiculously cheap. One penny extra a day won't exactly kill me... Alternatively, they could not have updated the graphics at all, so there'd be no problems, and still have demanded 30p more. Would that be more preferable to you?

Ouch. And normal. Would have taken me about 6-ish hours? I tried going back and doing the first levels on intense but I couldn't do it. Maybe Toon Link will do better... Pikachu. Just keep her holding that A button...

Mario Kart Wii
You do realise Mario Kart was the first racing game of its kind, don't you? So if anything, whoever made Crash Team Racing needs to be more original, not Nintendo.

Yep, I'll sign up. Only had the game for 36 hours, but I've already won 4/4 battles online and completed Adventure Mode. Can't wait for this tournament. ;)

Intelligent people = 'less likely to believe in God'
Science is not an ideology - it's the process of discovering the world through experiments which prove or disprove specified hypotheses. There is no section of science which tells you to slaughter other members of society simply for being different. Darwinism is a part of science; Social Darwinism is a political ideology inspired, but not created by, Darwinism and most certainly is not a part of science. The Crusades, however, came from religious theocracy. It was quite clearly a battle between Islam and Christianity over control of their respective Holy City. I don't know about Christianity, but in Islam there are certainly sections inside the Qu'ran which actually specify when violence should be used to defend your faith. Moving on from the Crusades, the start of the Protestant Reformation caused many wars in Northern and Central Europe, which while also fuelled by social and political upheaval, were clearly a result of hostility between different branches of the Christian faith. Fancy words like 'perversion' can't escape the glaringly obvious facts - there have been many wars and lives lost in the name of advancing religion. No report from a respected scientist, however, has ever called for likewise action.

Intelligent people = 'less likely to believe in God'
If you mean it was motivated through his antisemitism, then sure... but that's more of an anti-religious motivation. Hitler wanted to keep a religiously neutral state (source) This is the danger of studying history through the analysis of a single man - Hitler alone did not create Nazism. He may have lead it, but it the result of a massive split in German politics and religion at the time and therefore was as much a movement from below as above. So let's move off this meaningless debate over whether Hitler was religious or not, and let's look at groups in German society who were religious. The Roman Catholic Church in Germany for example was hardly opposed to Hitler. In fact, the Pope made deals with Hitler to prevent Roman Catholic schools being abolished under the new regime, in realisation Hitler felt religion would hinder his creation of the Volksgemeinschaft. The extermination of the Jews was hardly a 'bolt out of the blue' - there had been warnings for several years before the declaration of war in 1939 that the Nazis were practising Social Darwinism. Disabled people were exterminated under the T4 program. Families with hereditary illnesses were castrated (or had other methods used on them to terminate their ability to have children) in order to increase the frequency of the perfect race in German society. All of which happened while the Catholic Church sat there and watched, doing deals with its leader. Much as Social Darwinism may have stemmed from science (although you'd have been hard pushed to find a majority of scientists that actually agreed with it), religious groups were certainly not blameless in the Nazis' actions.

If Mario Kart Wii is anything to go by, there's practically no lag at all. In fact, I had more trouble with Continental matches than Worldwide matches. And I am in the EU. GMT 0, obviously in DST at the moment.

By that logic, the New Jesus Army derived from Christianity, so all Christians are to blame for their aggresive actions. At least I can see the flawed logic in that.

An emissions trading scheme. The way to go?
They wouldn't have such an advantageous position if demand in the world wasn't higher than supply, but they're not exactly helping the situation, to put it nicely. Emissions would go down with new technology if the rate of emissions being released was stagnant. It's not. We are producing more and more emissions every single year, because we're burning more and more fossil fuels every single year as our populations grow. There's the problem. New technology is good, but removes any incentive to cut down on the amount of fossil fuels we're actually burning, unless the new technology is on non-polluting methods of producing energy so we don't have to burn as much fossil fuels in the first place. I think we're essentially arguing the same thing, from different angles. :P Technology is good and should be encouraged, but political incentives are also needed. There's no silver bullet to this issue.
