racist question
this post has nothing to do with race. But, walmart at least in my town does not hire on quality. They hire out of sympathy. alot of people are the kind of people who are mentally challenged or like have a learning disorder or who are physically different then most of society. Such as this one guy, i saw at walmart he had one arm. Just because he has one arm doesn't mean he's incapable of operating a till, for example. It doesn't remove his ability to conduct basic mathematical equations either. Second to that, how do you know there was a better candidate stood against him? You've just looked at the guy, and presumed he was hired through sympathy. For all you know, he could be a volunteer on work experience and didn't even go through the usual employment process.

Interesting... Microsoft avoid competition with the other two companies (again) by doing their exhibition on their own on a different day.

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
If that's true, why can't paedophiles just walk into a surgery and ask for help to become "un-paedophile"? Probably because there is no way.

racist question
Racism is a prejudice of someone based mainly on their ethnicity, race or genetic inheritance. For the comments about positive discrimination, it's not racist at all. An employer doesn't employ a black person over a white person out of fear of being branded a racist. At least, I've heard no employer say they're scared, I've only heard certain politicians. Jobs are still provided according to ability, not race. All it does is provide a balance. A black person will suffer de facto racism when applying for a job, and as such, has opportunities denied to them which would otherwise be open if they were white. In the event two candidates are equally matched, the employer is encouraged (not forced) to employ the black person for this reason. (I note that all the people in the media who whine about positive discrimination are white. Nice to see they care about racism when the roles are reversed.) If someone called me a racist, I'd laugh in their face. There is absolutely no way I am a racist, so it doesn't bother me.

The lag was getting at me too. Tell me character to go left to grab onto the ledge and it doesn't respond until it's too late. KO'ed at about 20-odd% damage. :x That's how it was like with me and mano though. It must be the gap between me and you guys. Great games though.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Oh sorry, I thought you meant you'd been in a relationship for a few months and you'd just got fed up of it. Let her down gently. Don't keep it going or you'll cause her more harm in the long-run. If you keep this going, when it does break apart, she'll have to ask herself why you felt you had to lie about your emotions towards her just to make her feel better about herself. If you don't like her, just tell her. Say it's not really working out. It's not too late to go back to being just friends, so long as she accepts it's nothing more than that.

It takes a while to get an online brawl probably because Nintendo try and force you into battles where the connection is good. Trouble is, with Wi-Fi, the connection never really is good. ;) I'd be happy to have a match with you sometime though. Just PM me with a time when you're free. I usually check who's online when I turn SSBB on anyways.

I presume you used to love her. What's changed about her?

Guess This Kid Really Wanted To Play His Nintendo Wii....
When the Red Army was standing 100 yards away from his bunker, I suppose Hitler was also irrational to kill himself. He clearly would not have been a productive member of society. The fact he came close to conquering the whole of Europe is neither here nor there. Suicide is rarely completely rational, but it can be. If you have a psychological report which states otherwise, I'll shut up. Hitler was a very productive (Not really in a positive way) member of society. He killed himself because he did not want to face death after a long trial. I don't even see how that relates to this topic. Again, I REFUSE to be sympethetic on the issue of a self-inflicted death. I'm not asking you to be sympathetic. I'm asking you to recognise that not all people who commit suicide are doing so for irrational reasons.

[DONE] Cockroach Soldier
We've added this drop, then removed it, then added it again. I don't really think two different people would deliberately lie about the same relatively insignificant item (a Mithril Platebody will hardly excite anyone), so I'll assume using my personal judgement that these do drop Mithril Plates. Whether or not they do in F2P is another matter. They are popular monsters in F2P, so if any F2Pers want to submit a proper drop log, I'll look at the information and reconsider. I'll leave this thread open for that purpose.

The Political Compass, Where Do You Stand?
Are you for real? Of course I expected him to run, and good on him. He's a politician, I expected nothing less. However, by running, he did cause a split in the Democrats, thus removing your image of him being a mediator between opposing sides. The world's politics is moving rightwards. Obama is on the left-wing of America. I have no doubt he'll become President if he plays his cards right, but most of America remains hugely conservative towards the issues you're talking about (drugs, healthcare etc.) Says the man who loathed Hillary and all she stood for just three months ago.

The Political Compass, Where Do You Stand?
So.... what caused the current split in the Democrat Party? Don't tell me it was all Hillary in that battle. He's better than most, but he's still a politician, and this is the nature of party politics, especially it seems when you rally around individual people, rather than a group of people, to lead a country. It is 'us vs. them' with the electorate caught up in the middle deciding between the two.

A tragedy. I think that's the only way to describe this. For the matter, I also doubt he killed himself over the Wii.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I want to share something that I'd actually completely forgot about when I made my first two posts about this - the fact I have actually been cheated on two times by two different girls (disclaimer: although if anyone tries to mount libel against me, one of them denies she ever did, despite telling my best mate she actually did. Yeah... ) Did it hurt at the time? Yes - definitely. I remember at the time a lot of hate started being flung around the group of friends we were a part of. It became factionalised, some on my side of the fence, some loyal to her. I refused to talk to her, and I maintained that for one and a half years until three weeks before we left school for good. By that point, there was no chance of her creeping back into my life anyway; but also, I'd moved on, grown up and most importantly, I'd found someone else. Because in that chaos I found two girls who were themselves quite mature, experienced emotionally and wise. We all went on to become our own group of friends. I have to admit, being with them was probably the happiest point of my life - certainly the point where I felt least anxiety anyway. I became quite confident, even arrogant, and I came out of the shell I'd lived in up until that point. It was like I woke up to the world. I actually came really close and trustful towards one of them. This is the person I was talking about before. The point I'm making is this - things do genuinely get better, and what's more, you actually come out a lot stronger than you did before you even entered all this. You've matured emotionally through experience and that makes you a better and wiser person in the long run. You'll also meet new people that are better than her, despite however much you think that's impossible at the moment. flu - have you actually asked her why she's not answering your texts? If you haven't, I wouldn't suggest harassing her for an answer, but when you're next alone with each other, just tell her what you're concerned about, and that you think it might the bullying. I don't think you're being used. If she won't talk to you, get her to talk to a counsellor instead. That is exactly what they're there for. It's not uncommon for people to prefer talking to someone else other than their boyfriend about their worries, and it doesn't mean they don't trust their boyfriends.

Intelligent people = 'less likely to believe in God'
Suppressing any thought doesn't really strike me as encouraging either educational or scientific advancement. Secondly, how does your argument work? "We encourage scientific development by suppressing scientists who don't agree with us" It wasnt really an argument per-se, it was just a response to someone elses argument that historically the church has only hindered scientific development. In reality the church initiated it and was often the first institution to jump on the bandwagon. It may have also suppressed it, but it also did a lot of good things in and for the name of science. It was more to get the guy saying look at history to look at history himself, since he seems to have a selective memory. A point which could so easily be applied to you. The Church did not initiate science by any stretch of the imagination. Ancient civilisation was making scientific breakthroughs long before the Church came along. Science extends far beyond atoms and plants. Mathematics is itself a form of science, if not, its very language. Are you seriously telling me the Hanging Gardens of Babylon could not possibly have been built, or currency exchanged, until the Christian Church came along and 'initiated' such projects? I don't believe the Church stopped all scientific development. In fact, I know it didn't having done a case study of the development of medicine through history. But you're going too far towards the other end of the scale.

And if you don't believe in God, this is meant to be relevant... how?

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I'm sensing bad vibes coming from Rick... I hope it gets better for ya. : Unfortunately, I actually agree with him. Time doesn't heal everything. The emotions that we felt at the time are still in our memory, and we still experience those emotions everytime we have to be reminded about what happened in the past. The baring those emotions have over our lives does slowly fade over time, but it doesn't solve everything. Problems, anxieties, anger - they still have to be confronted. IeatWindex: Don't blow out in anger at her. Let's play a game and see if she really is as trustworthy as she presumably made herself out to be. Don't talk to her. Don't even text her. Let her come to you and see if she'll own up to what was going on. If she tries to act like nothing has happened, you know she's trying to lie and you can move on in the knowledge you gave her a chance. If she does own up, try and talk about it. Ask her what was going so wrong in your relationship she went off and cheated on you. Hate only creates more hate though, so don't go down that route. Religious as that sounds, it's true.

Patriotism and Nationalism
Seriously? In my eyes its nothing but failiure. Millions of people having access to often life-saving healthcare that would previously have been too expensive for them to afford is a failure to you? Contrary to what the Daily Mail may believe, the vast majority of the NHS works absolutely fine. If you're talking about financial deficits, then I ask you - are you prepared to pay more tax (presuming you live in Britain that is), or would you rather sit here and whine?
