  1. To be fair, compliments which are insincere are usually seen through straight away and have the opposite effect to what you're intending. So that motivational poster is half right.
  2. Ladies, go home. This contest has been won: Dat ping

:-| ...Clearly it is a worry when you're making posts like that.

    What's happened?
  5. Or possibly add an artifact nearby, when activated creates a hard mode, resulting in better loot. keeps the same brothers and can be introduced via a quest. That is a terrible idea. All it does it make low level content better for higher levels than it is for low levels. [/hide]No, it allows higher levels to use content which can be upgraded to higher levels. Lower levels would get different loot than higher levels. That's an example of power creep which is just about the last thing that should be encouraged for a long-term RPG like RuneScape. As much as high-leveled players salivate at the thought of high level content, there's simply no getting around this issue: it makes old content more redundant that it was previously. This isn't an opinion; it's unquestionable fact. If you're going to "upgrade" something in this manner, do it in an original way, not a rehash of old content, and keep it in balance to what already exists in-game. Jagex have a track record of spectacularly failing on both counts, and the amount of dead content in RuneScape is testament to that. EDIT: Found a video which does a pretty excellent job at explaining power creep as a concept across video gaming:
  6. Would've been funny had the ref stopped play for that 'injury', and the goal been ruled out.
  7. Hasn't the problem always been that the areas aren't necessarily too crowded for low levels, it's that the rewards are simply worthless and so the end goal doesn't amount to anything?
  8. With respect, that wasn't the point he was making. He was referring to a feature which is present in several RPGs where you can customise your own level down, deliberately making enemies harder to kill or more risky in the process. That level then proportionately affects the rewards received from those enemies. For example, if you're level 100 (argument's sake) and you kill an enemy using your normal level 100 gear/stats, you'll get the normal rewards. If you're level 100 and you nerf yourself down to, say, level 50, you'll receive increased rewards, but obviously the risk is far greater, and also possibly the time taken to kill in the first place. If you were to translate it into RuneScape, it would work something like this: If you're max combat and 'nerfed' all your combat stats to level 70, so you could only equip/use level 70 items, you'd get an increased return of rewards than someone who's max combat and doesn't nerf their stats, or someone with level 70 combat stats. It's a very effective way of maintaining a good risk-reward gradient while keeping old content challenging even when character stats are far beyond what the challenge requires. It also reduces the randomness of drop-style rewards, as in RuneScape, by giving players a certain amount of proportionate control over the drop rates. The main problem is that it sometimes rewards high-level players too heavily, effectively meaning they can farm items, which devalues the rewards being gained. Some, of course, would argue that you effectively have a system like that in RuneScape now, where the higher your combat potential, the higher the kills/time rate, and therefore, the higher your rewards/time rate. However, I'd argue that if those higher-leveled played low-leveled content like Barrows, they'd barely find it a challenge at all, and it therefore seems like a very poor system to use in what constitutes a 'game'; you shouldn't really be rewarded more for things you find less challenging.
  9. I'd go for black salamander / harralander tar as a cheap t70 bolt weapon.
  10. ... I love that line. That's a great line. Grammatically incorrect, I might add, but still great.
  11. I was more thinking life sciences, like all the cool kids here do. Chemistry, Biology, that sorta'thang.
  12. He's not shown any talent that comes even close to justifying a £20m fee, but I don't think there's any sense in getting rid now. To finish your first full season with no assists and no goals as a winger is unacceptable to me. He had a better second season but, let's be real, it could barely have been any worse.
  13. I was mad for him and the whole of LFC when I read it. Say what you like about the club, they stuck with him and then he does that. You know how Mish is so bad that words fail to describe... Same for Suarez. Maybe Mish = Suarez? I went the to Etihad Stadium on Sunday for the rugby league. I couldn't help but notice the decoration around the ground contained a lot less gloating than it did 12 months ago. I can't imagine why.

Maybe she feels that she's adding stress on to you at a time when you're already very stressed, and that while any other mother in that situation would be attempting to do the opposite, she's obviously not able to even though she wants to because she's in and out of hospital (with acute respiratory problems if I recall correctly?). By saying "It won't happen again", she's bargaining that she won't be bothering you any further, so you don't need to worry about her. To reassure her, is there anything you could do together to take your mind off exams?
  15. Does "chasing crazy" actually make you happy? I can understand wanting to avoid boredom, or even avoid being conventional, but it's clearly not making you happier, it just taken you from one stress and replaced it with several more stressors. I don't understand why you'd choose that lifestyle if it's not making you happier, or at the very least, less "down".
  16. Referees could get themselves in a bit of a Webb when it comes to football-related puns. Maybe they should take a Poll on it? They could vote on board the yacht that's currently moored in the Marriner. The serene setting would be Taylor-made for the occasion.
  17. Totally irrelevant. Whether your favourite food is a spag bol or a lasagne... it's neither here auror there really.
  18. Cook cape is best cape. Glad someone else understands this.
