  1. Sounds strangely like blaming the victim, that. It was probably her fault for wearing a short skirt too, I guess.
  2. If they're intoxicated to the point where they can no longer reasonably judge the consequences of the choices they make for themselves, then I fail to see how anyone could argue they've given consent, since by nature, consent has to be an informed decision. If I got stupidly drunk, completely lost all sense, and then used all of my life savings (and then some) to buy, let's say, a house, I would hope any reasonable lawyer would argue that there's absolutely no way a valid contract could have been formed under those circumstances. The fact I've put myself into a position where I cannot give consent is irrelevant; the other party still has a moral and legal responsibility to ensure that I'm actually able to understand the risks of the situation they're assisting me into. The same goes for sex. If you think otherwise, then please explain to me in whatever rebuttal you offer to this post how you're not inherently arguing that "she deserved it because she got drunk".

I must have missed the announcement where ABC News became a leading publisher of evidence-based medical journals. How strange... On the other hand, I did find this letter written to the editor in the journal Sexually transmitted diseases: 27% seems like a pretty silly risk to take when there are literally dozens of alternatives out there. What does this even mean? Effective at what? At what point? When used how frequently? By this I'm guessing you mean oestrogen and progesterone. The oestrogen-based forms of contraception act by maintaining an average level of oestrogen throughout the menstrual cycle, effectively tricking the body into thinking a follicle is already developing, disrupting the menstrual cycle. We're not exactly pumping the body full of plutonium, here. Oestrogen-based medication is contraindicated against certain hereditary conditions, yes, but it's otherwise safe for the vast majority of women. Furthermore, it's not the only form of female contraception. You've already mentioned condoms (less attractive for women, admittedly). There's also coils, Depo injections, implants, vaginal rings, patches (this less frequently used), most of which do not contain oestrogen or progesterone. It's also the only protection a male has against picking up an STI, or in some cases, the female as well. Why you would even consider not using one--or if you're female, insisting your male partner uses one--beggars belief, with the obvious exception of trying for conception. There's blokes out there that use antiseptic condoms too, to deliberately take away some of the sensation and make it go a bit slower and longer, if you catch my drift. ;)
  4. Even though that provides an imbalance, surely the onus is on Jagex to detect that imbalance and correct it, not the player to report it and abstain from the better XP rates. It's not the Sally Army, it's RuneScape.
  5. To be fair, most people in most everyday conversations have nothing substantial to say to each other. If we all abided by that rule, the concept of 'smalltalk' would die in an instant.
  6. As my former roommate said, reflecting on his immediate thoughts after his first time: "Thank [bleep] it's over, that was shit."
  7. They're right to flame you if you're bringing it up as an alternative to advice on safe sex. Even those of us who fully support a woman's right to an abortion recognize that it's an incredibly stressful and painful process for a woman to go through, and when you consider there are so many forms of contraception out there, and so many of them easily accessible, it really is a very last alternative, and not something that should be planned for from the outset. I'm interested about why Gabe feels he (or perhaps, the relationship itself) isn't ready for sex though. I don't agree that it's as simple as 'stick it in and lose your virginity'; there's probably reasons for him choosing not to have penetrative sex. I'm just not aware of what those reasons are because he never explained them. ;)
  8. If she wanted to, she'd have met up. She's not interested. But I'm sure you know there's plenty of others out there. ;)

What do you work as, and what tasks did you keep messing up? Also, is it really bad that I thought "agility grad for his level 4 class" referred to a man who was part of a skillers clan maxing out at the advanced Gnome Stronghold in RuneScape? :?
  11. I bet you charm all the women with compliments like this! :P
  12. Unfortunate as that might be, and I can understand why you'd be annoyed at that (we all would be), isn't that the #1 rule of economics: values can go down as well as up?
  13. :wall: I give up... someone else's turn.
  14. Well, to all intents and purposes it is fixed because you're not able to kill Nex in significant enough quantities to make a trip worthwhile. That is the basis of your rant, correct? Just... Nex in a team. I don't really need a working knowledge of Nex to see that's clearly your best option to take here. Any reasonable person would take the evidence on this thread and arrive at the same conclusion.
  15. No... did I say it was? Then, why are you bothered? Surely that fact it's harder means it's more of an achievement. If you're miffed because the rewards aren't there, don't try and solo... it was never designed to be done that way. The fact it could be solo'd is evidence that the original design had faltered to the point it needed fixing. Hence, it was fixed.
  16. You're possibly the first "Achievement hunter" I've ever come across who likes it when challenges are easier and more trivial...
  17. I know nothing about armour or PvMing, but since when was Nex meant to be solo'd?

I won't lie. My life had a little hole in it while Tip.It was being DDOS'd. Not a massive one, just a little one. Mostly because I couldn't access the PoP calculator, but this place too.
  19. Tip.It was DDOS'd for two days and you only managed one level in that time? Man you're bad.
  20. OK... :) Well, the first thing to say is that it's fantastic news that things between you and your new family have started so well! Most of us only have one family as a support network, and now you have two, I could accuse you of being greedy! :P What do you think your grandma will say about it...? In what way do you think this news will change the relationship you have with the people you've always called your family before now? Do you think that if she would be worried about this, it might be because she's quite worried herself about the idea that you finding your biological family means the two of you will cease to be part of a 'family', and that you'll not be as close any more?
  21. Definitely a red card but Luiz made Suarez's acting look wooden.
  22. Did you at least crack the old mathematics "divide the legs and let's multiply" line? At least it would keep the conversation vaguely flirtatious... :P
  23. The 'Pool played liked they really wanted 7th place this lunchtime.
  24. Even if it's F2P, no one says you have to train it.
