You're NOT losing money
I can tell you my santa hat has a value to me of 21m - I will not sell it for less. Once again - what is something worth? I may never sell my santa hat, but I haven't lost anything, 'cept maybe the opportunity cost. What is a market? Its where people get together and decide what they're willing to pay for things. What is a stock worth? Well, whatever someone is willing to pay for it, and someone is willing to sell it for. If a company goes bankrupt, it's stock price will plummet to 0. Why? Its because its worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, and a bankrupt company has little to no value. Exactly! The GE price is the measure of that. Do yourself a favor and look up the definition of money: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Money. It has nothing to do with how much that item is worth to you; that's sentimental value. It has to do with others are willing to buy it from you for. If that company goes belly under and you own stocks that were worth, say, 40$ apiece, but no one will buy them any more, are they still worth 40$ if you want them to be? No!

Tanks are over powered.
Err.. What about protect from melee makes it harder to use then protect from range? Can't that tank just protect from melee too? dd++ on 99 defence = 0-0, I would know. AGS = well over 50% miss rate; max hit of 43 with protect from melee. Range tanks can hit 60s without a speccing weapon (36 with prayer). You've forgotten a big thing though - you can't have it all. If your meleer has 45 defence, he's not going to be doing much besides eating, even with prayer. If he has 70, he's still going to get ripped apart, but he's only going to have 90 attack\strength, dropping his max to very close to the rangers with an AGS and guaranteeing him zeros when he tries to spec. You know what I mean by prayer-switching, right? Tanks are only going to use 2 styles when they hybrid, and it's quite obvious when they're going to range as opposed to mage. Everyone else is going to be using 3; it's quite difficult to defend yourself from 'surprise' attacks. Also, the d stone bolt special isn't always going to happen when you want it to; don't act like you can hit 60s on command. Furthermore, most hybriding is going to be happening in at least level 20 wilderness - defeating the issue of level difference. What are you possibly talking about? I have NEVER seen a 45 defence rune pure suddenly put on mystic and begin barraging me (not that it would matter, I would take him down in seconds). I have also never see one put on d hide and a good shield and begin ranging me. I can prayer switch just as easily as them, giving them a total advantage of 0.

Burst or Barrage?
No... 101k is my summoning XP, assuming 800 barrages per hour (and 124 XP per barrage). How many barrages\h are you using for the 9 spot?

Decrease the posting delay!
Ehh, one can only hope. I have a feeling it'll be a while before it comes out and tip.it adopts it, and even longer (or never) before features like this get implemented. Ah well, one can't hope for too much from an ad\donation supported fansite (not that I don't think you guys do a great job =D> )

Wow, phishers really do send out e-mails!
Hmm so everyone on earth has 16 email accounts? Or multiple per account.. Wow that's hard to believe. On topic though thanks for giving us a heads up, it's good to be reminded to be vigilant once in a while. For me at least :P I have 14 email accounts with a combined total of over 300 spam messages per day. And I'm EXTREMELY cautious about letting anything get my email address; my friend posted his on a small website as a test and is averaging over 600 spam messages per day (rapidly increasing) on that account. Bill gates receives over 4,000,000 (4 million) spam messages per day. Over 95% of all email messages sent are spam, though the vast majority are filtered out at ISP level and never hit your inbox. It's an indisputable fact. Care to back up these "indisputable facts"? Be glad to. Obviously I can't offer any sort of proof about my personal accounts (photoshop is too common nowdays :P ) but I was expecting people to ask for sources. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-mail_spam A very complete article on spam, best I've found on teh internetz. A few quotes: Further investigation reveals that that statement comes from http://www.sophos.com/pressoffice/news/articles/2008/07/dirtydozjul08.html The 'Bill Gates' fact came from http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4023667.stm However, I have heard that BBC messed up and it was supposed to be 'per year', not 'per day'. Not positive on that one. Any other sources you want to know?

Best Attack Outfit
And I'm telling him that a berserker ring would give him more experience per hour than an extra smidgen of slash bonus. If you hit over 50% of the time, berserker is better. If you hit less, warrior is better. This is PC, so he will be hitting the vast majority of the time. Therefore, strength bonus > attack bonus. The same does not hold true for PVP, where not only the +4 slash attack but the +4 slash defence edge out the berserker. 50%? Why? Hit 49% of the time, your attack bonus is doing more to reduce that 51% of the time you aren't. Hit 51% of the time, your strength bonus is doing more to increase that 51% of the time you are.

Googlebombing Ranking TIF #1 [Runescape]
I love how this thread is ranked highest in google, despite the 'googlebombing' in the title

How famous are you on tip.it? (Over 10k posts)

Decrease the posting delay!
Is there any way we could hinge it on post count? I know it's discrimination etc. etc. blah blah, but isn't someone with 3k+ post count less likely to spam inappropriate images then someone who's joined yesterday with a post count of 3?

Tanks are over powered.
I'm 6' 3" with an IQ just over 140 :P I'm by no means the smartest\tallest\average here, though. I'd say the average IQ is right around 100, possibly a bit higher due to more geeks (no offense) who play online games. [hide=]And yes, I detected the sarcasm[/hide]

Err... what about them? Avansies is the most efficient method of training range, I used it and spirit mages almost exclusively 80-98... So will you not go to aviansies at all once you hit 99 range assuming you arent going for xp? Nope, I'll probably do DKS (training mage via COG) and merch, with occasional sara or bandos trips if I need extra cash. If you can hold off of doing aviansies you have the most willpower ever. Why's that? I can make double or triple the profit at Sara, or (most likely) continue making several million a day merchanting and never worry about earning money. I just never get tired of aviansies i learned to tank there and i just kept going back, it kept me busy. No real use arguing here :| I'm not tired of them, but I'm not tired of Sara either, so if I can make 3x as much there I will instead :P

Slayer Sucks
It is true though. I won't deny (nor have I done so) that Armoured Zombies are more combat experience per hour then Slayer. That doesn't instantly mean Slayer sucks though. Slayer gets more overall experience per hour but less combat compared to Armoured Zombies. Unless I am mistaken, the original idea in this thread was you ranting about how others suggest players to train Slayer for combat experience, and that you made this thread trying to say Slayer wasn't the best way, is that not correct? You tried to give evidence to this by comparing it to Zombie Monkies which was later proven to be inefficient. Zombie Monkies gave more combat experience as well as overall experience per hour (1.6k difference). However it was at the loss of 245k per hour. Put simply, i've not been trying to argue that Slayer gives more combat experience per hour. I have been trying to show that it is still great experience and that you had been purposely understating Slayer to prove your point (which if you look back was the intial reasoning behind my first post - Started post on page 6 by the way). The difference is with Slayer you get about 120k combat experience per hour and 22.5k slayer experience per hour, with Armored Zombies you get up to 136k combat/overall experience per hour (numbers I have got). That is true; if you don't look at the cash side, slayer is getting around 8k more XP\hour at full attention. However, Armored Zombies is earning considerably more - enough that you could probably do Armored Zombies and virtually tie the XP rates. Additionally, very few people actually slay at the rates used for testing; I personally don't obtain anywhere close under normal playing conditions, and from what I've informally observed, most slayers don't. The advantage Armored Zombies have is that they can be trained on with virtually no attention required while still receiving full XP. I think we can consider this 600 page+ (by my estimate) argument closed :P On the good side, you forced me to test and get re-interested in slayer

Tanks are over powered.
D hide body, torag\rune helm, torag's platelegs, ava's accumulator, glory ammy, DFS w\ protect item or rune kite if your scared, snakeskin boots, ring of recoil, rune gloves or d hide vambs, 50 diamond\dragonfire bolts (e), venges + a prayer pot in inventory, +15% range, smite and\or defence prayer. [hide=][/hide] 8-) [hide=][/hide] You win I give up. As long as the tank is from tif and has an iq of over 150 it will be a good tank. It was fun but i dont want to dig my self into a deeper hole. i dont see much use of ranting about it. IQ of 150? That's like .0001% of the population. My IQ is below 150. The average IQ is 100, and that's fine for a range tank. What's there to know?

What do I do with my dragon claws?
Depending on the cash you have you can buy 3-4m spirit shards for 20 ea and use them as junk as their worth 25 gp ea and the person your selling to can re sell for 20 gp ea. He'll be recieveing a total of 1m from that, not worth doing. And the lowest you can get it right now with pouches is around 22 GP. On rsof you can get shards 20 ea if im not mistaken, and wouldent that net 15m assuming you buy 3,000,000 shards? Yeah... And how do you buy those shards for 20 ea? With junk. If he had 15m junk he'd be using it to sell his claws -.-

Decrease the posting delay!
This is a pet peeve of mine that I've been meaning to suggest for a while. Decrease the delay between posts! Currently it's a minute; something like 20 or 30 seconds would be much better. In a minute I can type a paragraph and a half - few threads require that, some only a couple of sentences that I can type in 10 or 15 seconds. It's not uncommon for me to have several posts ready to submit lined up in my firefox tabs simply because I've typed them all in under a minute. I know its there to prevent spammers, but couldn't it be shorter, or have it decrease as your postcount goes up (and thus your likelihood of spamming decreases and it becomes easier to ban)? Just a thought.

only one of the 200m xp rangers dosen't have 99 slayer and that one had 91 slayer, and so they might of sped it up with cannons. Top ranked range player has all 99's except 55 firemaking :? Just thought I should say that. Ps: Your near maxed range what about your several thousand bar drops? Ill always love aviansies because of the way they are set up its unlike any other method of ranging Err... what about them? any way to reduce ping times?
Not true. I get sub-200 ping to virtually any server in the world, and sub-100 almost anywhere. Ok... your point is? Just because your far away doesn't mean you'll get terrible 1000+ ping times, it has to do with your ISP and computers between you and the server (again, having a lot to do with your ISP and top level provider).

He'll be recieveing a total of 1m from that, not worth doing. And the lowest you can get it right now with pouches is around 22 GP. I'll elaborate. Here's how it works. First, you find a person willing to trust you. Have him buy lots of dragonstones on the GE. Buy a bunch of chaos runes yourself and sell them for tokul. Now, go to the volcano gem shop. Have him sell his dragonstones to the shop. Buy them yourself with a small amount of tokul. You can buy 1 dragonstone with 12.5k worth of chaos rune's tokul, so your earning 30k with each dragonstone. Have him do however many you agree upon until you reach the desired profit, then sell him the claws themselves for market price. Like I said, it has to be someone you trust. And that's why chaos runes have been skyrocketing\d stones falling for the past month. Keep it under your hat. Or you could skip the risk and sell it to me for the claws + shards... Pretty please? I want it more then pigunmaiden, I promise

Tanks are over powered.
Depends where bh or pvp, and spending limit. No, it doesn't. Tanks can risk less and deal more damage per minute. Plus they have vengance and high prayer. Well in BH rangers have no bind/barrage so they get screwed most of the times. Also OP said rangers would be using arma so thatsa risk. err... most meleers can't bind or barrage either? A pure mage doesn't stand a chance against a tank ranger here. And they aren't going to be wearing arma in BH -.- That arma statement came from op. Rangers dont have THAT good of a KO especially when they are tanking so many times they dont get the kill in bh. Err... Show me where the OP said the tank had to wear arma in BH. Rangers can hit 60+, and will hit almost every time on 45 defence, faster then they can eat. Yet they have a huge slash defence, 99 defence, and vengance so a dd++ will virtually never hit on them. They have vastly superior offensive power, including KOs. Cut out from an earlier argument and I took ava to be arma. Also I am assuming you are a mage/tank with about the same stats. If you can fit a Veracs skirt and Torag Chest (99 def) with maxed mage bonus elsewhere you have barrage and mismic barrage and depending on what armour they use it could be a close fight(or the mager running out early) :wall: His magic bonus is going to be far too low to hit on the ranger, and he's risking way too much with a 5m Zuriel staff.

Burst or Barrage?
I got the summoning XP\h from this, did I misinterpret something? I use a totally different spot, past the daggy kings, for lures with the 7 lob method. King Duffy is the one that showed it to me :P [side note] Met a lot of famous people there in the first few weeks after summoning was out, like Artemis, Sxq Power, King Duffy, Weyoun 1, Narthoniel (who I was friends with for a while before he quit :| ), and Look Over He. Good times :-# [/side note]
