Tanks are over powered.
Depends where bh or pvp, and spending limit. No, it doesn't. Tanks can risk less and deal more damage per minute. Plus they have vengance and high prayer. Well in BH rangers have no bind/barrage so they get screwed most of the times. Also OP said rangers would be using arma so thatsa risk. err... most meleers can't bind or barrage either? A pure mage doesn't stand a chance against a tank ranger here. And they aren't going to be wearing arma in BH -.- That arma statement came from op. Rangers dont have THAT good of a KO especially when they are tanking so many times they dont get the kill in bh. Err... Show me where the OP said the tank had to wear arma in BH. Rangers can hit 60+, and will hit almost every time on 45 defence, faster then they can eat. Yet they have a huge slash defence, 99 defence, and vengance so a dd++ will virtually never hit on them. They have vastly superior offensive power, including KOs.

only one of the 200m xp rangers dosen't have 99 slayer and that one had 91 slayer, and so they might of sped it up with cannons. Top ranked range player has all 99's except 55 firemaking :? Just thought I should say that. Ps: Your near maxed range what about your several thousand bar drops? Ill always love aviansies because of the way they are set up its unlike any other method of ranging Err... what about them? Avansies is the most efficient method of training range, I used it and spirit mages almost exclusively 80-98...

Unfortunately, the 26,000 people in the highscores indicate otherwise :-w I contradict that statement with the fact that the 2,000,000 (last) rank in the hi-scores is range at level 45 and mage at level 47. Dosen't prove much but... Also to go with compfreak range has 4-5 people with 200m xp and mage is topped at 122m xp. Not really a reason to train mage after 99 though. Already mentioned before. Mage essentially has to be leveled to 55 to access teleports and alchs, whereas there is no obligation to level range if you don't plan on using it. There's also no reason to train range after 99 :P :P Aviansies at 99 range? It still nets xp so its training right? I've got over 17m mage XP and rising from rock lobsters, I'll have 25m+ before I'm done. Few maxed players with 99 range are going to use Avansies for money, better to boss hunt.

Burst or Barrage?
[hide=] Turns out its my own misinterpretation :( . I mean I knew what the XPH stood for, but I was reading it wrong. For example in cell A15, I read it as "experience per burst". When I got to cell A21 I was reading it the same way, which was "experience per hour per burst", which made no sense to me  . The second "per" should have been "for" and then it makes sense to me. If that is the case, it's based on 800 casts an hour and the number in the cell is meant to be 74k instead of just 74. Since that is the case, I don't know if you have tested it but I think there might be slight mistake. You used the same amount of casts per hour with burst as with barrage. In my experience you end up using less casts of barrage per hour. I based my working on per hour, rather than per 1k casts. With the "Total" for what the pouches are worth, I used a more exact number for the cost of shards. Trading shards in you always get 70% back. That means if you traded them in an infinite number of times it becomes 7.5gp each shard (providing you bought for 25 each). Of course you can't do it that many times as the restrictions for amount of shards used per pouch and you can't receive fractions of shards (like 0.3 shards). I'll post pictures of the spreadsheet working I used: It is showing up a bit bluryy/fuzzy for me, then I realised I had saved as .bmp. So I resaved as .png but this one still looks bad. The second picture is fine however, might take a while till it updates to being clear (have had this problem before). Providing I made no mistakes, and I am pretty sure I did not (feel free to point out any if you see them), then the difference is smaller here. This would mean barrage requires 102k extra on top of if bursting is worth it. I also didn't bother with the experience per hour, but in case you are wondering, it is about 126,900 Magic experience per hour barraging. Now to me, this number seems more realistic, but wait till you see the next part  . I then compared them to Waterfiends: Now either I made a mistake, which I am pretty sure I didn't, or burst isn't cheaper after all. So for me, that means barraging is worth it, but bursting is not when compared to Waterfiends (well it might still be worth it, but why bother when you have barrage?). When using the 9 Lobster spot, you shouldn't use familiars in my opinion. The lures do take longer, but that is really the only thing. The reason for that is because actually killing them will take essentially the exact same time. That is because what you hit on one lobster is irrelevant to what you hit on another, hence you average the same time to kill all, maybe slightly more due to slight increase in error from the 9 compared to 7. During the first part of luring I don't put prayer on (run up to the ladder and back). I flick it on for a moment as I pass by them heading down (that is if I can be bothered to flick it on then off instead of leaving on). I then turn it back on just as you hit the bottom where the last 2 Lobsters are. Duck into the alcove then run back, while running back I turn prayer off. So the prayer usage isn't that great really and no real need for proselyte. Trapping the level 90 Dagannoths isn't that hard really. As for it being a pain to pick up drops? I think you are trapping them in the wrong area. Where I trap them, their drops appear on a spot where the other Lobsters don't become agressive to you and won't jump up from their rock form. I have a picture of it somewhere i'll post it here. Not the best picture to show, but it was the one I used when I was showing the new Ice Barrage animation that comes up half the time. You are correct, it isn't as relaxing as the 7 Lobster spot and it is more dangerous. However, you spend less per charm at the 9 Lobster spot compared to the 7 spot. In the 7 spot, I don't lure all 7 also, only 6. Lures are alot faster and you get about 750 casts and hour for about 150 crimsons. At the 9 spot you use 650 casts for about 145 crimsons per hour. Slightly less per hour but cheaper. I don't know about barraging in the 7 spot spot though so I have no comparison. [/hide] Your using different figures then mine, they can't really be compared. My 800 per hour being the same was a SOE I mentioned in my OP, but it's not as much of an issue at the 7 lob spot with the faster lures. The problem is that our numbers for the difference spots are different - your getting 86k XP\hour barraging, while I'm getting 101k. This also changes your Waterfiends numbers. Another big factor in waterfiends is that your getting a LOT of magic XP bursting, but only decent melee XP - and melee XP is much easier to obtain then magic XP. You should have used a different method for your shards; I simply used ROUNDUP(total shards*.3,0) to figure out how many shards it uses. As for the getting attacked, I'm trapping them in that area, but if I kill the lobster directly to the north east and he respawns before I finish off the rest (happens frequently in a full world), I end up getting attacked while I finish them off and pick up the drops. It's just riskier and more hassle then the 7 lob spot, I'm practiced enough to literally browse the forums while luring (I just click on the far end, switch to Firefox, switch back in a couple of seconds, click on my safespot, switch back to firefox for a few seconds, switch to RS and put on mage armor\take off prayer then burst. It sounds complicated but it's a lot less of a pain then the long and annoying lure for 9 lobs. It's a personal thing :-#

Best Attack Outfit
And I'm telling him that a berserker ring would give him more experience per hour than an extra smidgen of slash bonus. If you hit over 50% of the time, berserker is better. If you hit less, warrior is better. This is PC, so he will be hitting the vast majority of the time. Therefore, strength bonus > attack bonus. The same does not hold true for PVP, where not only the +4 slash attack but the +4 slash defence edge out the berserker.

Chaos Tunnels Green Dragons
Simply run to the other side of the green dragon after you hit it the first time, you lose no time and the babies will be trapped. You'll virtually never get hit during the short running period, protect from melee can be used if your really concerned.

Tanks are over powered.
Range training is faster and cheaper XP then melee, and you only have to train one skill. A tank is crazily overpowered, I've posted this many times but never thought of a rant. As a maxed melee player, I have lost to a range tank and defeated other maxed players as one. Do you think a 45 defence rune pure could do that? No, they'd lose instantly. A 99 ranger can hit on 45 defence faster then they can eat. They don't stand a chance. And the rangers get cheap armor and weapons with huge bonuses, crazily high hits, and great KOing potential. Range tanks are the undisputed champions of 105- PKing.

You're NOT losing money
That is a reasonable way to sum it up. However think of it this way (using same example with Whip that people have been using, but different view). You buy the Whip for 40 mil, hence you were willing to pay that much (maybe even higher), hence you value you it as at least 40 mil. It drops to 2 mil. Your point is the cash value of this item has dropped 38 mil which is true enough. If the player sells it for 2mil, yes they lost money. However, ask yourself, why did they sell it for 2mil? Was it because that is the current price now? No it can't be, because if that was the case they would have sold it earlier for more money. They sold it because to them it lost value. The use of the item for them is only worth 2 mil. So in that respect, yes it has dropped. Really nothing changed as to what you were saying, I just think it seems slightly different (but that might just be me : ). In my case with the Saradomin Godsword I have, is it really fair to say I lost cash value on it? I got it for free (essentially) and never intended to sell. Anything I sell it for is still profit. Yes I could have got 67mil more for it than I could now, but then I would not of had the item for the time frame that I had it. Don't get me wrong, I do agree with what you are saying, I just think of it from a different perspective. What you say is true, but how you obtain an item or what you do with it has no effect on the item's monatary value; just because you got that hilt virtually free doesn't mean it's worth any less then a hilt bought on the GE for 60m. So from a philosophical\sentimental argument, your not really losing anything - but from a practical standpoint, no matter how you word it, you've lost money.

Slayer Sucks
That is true to an extent. It is also about how you value total experience and total level, not just Slayer. Since overall you get more total experience per hour with Slayer, you also get more total levels per hour (not really per hour, but you get the idea, I am talking of the average) compared to Armoured Zombies. That's not true. You still get more XP at Armored Zombies, although it's fairly close in terms of XP; it's the extra cash from Zombies that makes the difference. However, the point of this post is combat training - where slayer is a clear loser.

Lending out SGS
Yeah, I've done that. Shards are actually good junk, as they are typically worth close to their market price. I've done it with essentially worthless junk (granite, poisoned bolts) easily; better junk just makes for easier lending.
-
Lending out SGS
Northeast of the GE, near the tunnel location. I've loaned my SGS out for at least 20m in junk (I buy it off of friends as a favor when I don't have any of my own). There's all sorts of different times that are good or bad for loaning, you'll figure them out (I'm not doing time zone conversions :P ). You can usually exepct the following fairly quickly at good times: 1 hour for 40k+ trade limit 2 hours for 100k 3 hours for 150-200k (depends on the time) 4 hours for 300k (depends on the time) 5+ hours for 300-400k (again, time dependent)

Burst or Barrage?
Technically, its not really. I just find that, with practice, I can do my 7 lob spot very, very quickly with minimal run and prayer. And that way I don't have to deal with all the healing and risk required at the 9 spot, plus the enormous extra hassle. If you wear the following setup: [hide=]God mitre God stole Ahrim top infinity bottoms Zammy book ancient staff or mystic water staff Spottier cape Penance gloves Boots of lightness Ring of life[/hide] You have over 20 prayer bonus, enough magic att to kill a roundup of lobs as quickly as w/ max-mage att, and you carry less than 0kg as well so I've always got 100% energy before the next roundup. I bring a bunyip too and it always keeps me at full hp... if something goes wrong the swallow whole scroll lets me eat the raw lobsters (100% drop) Practice the 9-lobster spot :P That's almost exactly the outfit I use, with proslyte in inventory for my luruing runs. The problem is that lobsters are a pain to collect (especially for the first 3 hours of the trip when your inventory is full, the bunyip doesn't let you use as long of trips, the lures take much longer, and it's easy to mess up on the daggy trapping (and get hit quite a bit in the process, I've been at 43 HP before when the daggys and mage owned me), and it's a pain to pick up the drops - the lobster to the southwest always attacks. I've practiced that spot for a few thousand bursts, but it just wasn't as relaxing\low risk (or as fast of overall charms) as the 7 lob spot.

You're NOT losing money
compfreak, why spam this thread with your worthless posts? ;) :P We all understand your argument, but our point of view doesn't seem to align perfectly. Just because our point of view is different doesn't mean that one of us is wrong. Unless you think that, then you're [developmentally delayed]. I was referring to the quote "This stuff is too smart for my brain to handle" by a random poster who didn't post anything else, an obvious spam posting. I'm glad you understand that there are multiple points of view. Let me explain my point of view - I've saved my pokemon cards for 10 years because they have a sentimental value to me. I also know that they might be worth more in 40 years, but there's no guarantee. I also paid $3.24/pack for my pokemon cards, and right now they're worthless. Yes, I have "lost money" on my pokemon cards, but they still have value to me. Back to my original post - what is something worth? Whatever someone is willing to pay for it. So, I'm willing to keep my pokemon cards because no one is willing to pay what they're worth to me. Let's apply this to RS now. I have a santa hat. Right now, its worth 14m, because that's what others are willing to pay for it. It's worth 21m to me, because that's what I'm willing to sell it for. If the price of the santa hat goes down to 10m, have I lost anything? No, because I still wouldn't sell it, its still worth more than that to me. Apply it to this current situation -If you bought a whip for 40m, then it was obviously worth 40m to you when you purchased it, otherwise you're [developmentally delayed], or you were trying to merchant it. -The cost of a whip went to 2m. Did you lose money? Sure you did, but why complain? You still have your whip, and you value it at 40m; you're willing to pay 40m for it. Then the OP needs to change this thread. If you resell the whip for 40m, you can buy much more stuff with it; you have lost money. Regardless of what your trying to argue, the title and first post on this thread is WRONG. Now, if you bring up a different argument - even if you have lost money, should you really be concerned about it? Didn't you get your 38m worth on your whip? I think otherwise, but that's more of an opinionated argument. What is not is the simple fact that you have lost money. Period. That's what I was arguing against, and what the title (and obviously the original intent) of this thread was about.

A new approach to Alchemy
You're basing this entirely on people doing things constantly. You're saying that the second you finish an hour of alching, you teleport to the nearest rune essence mine and immediately start slaving away. No time for a break. No time for leaving lost city and getting to rune essence. No, we simply just "insta-port." You should probably also take in to consideration the time it takes you to buy the items you will be alching. B staffs are easy, sure. But I have a feeling getting a couple hundred rune maces/adam plates and whatever else gives small loss will take some time. While you're at grand exchange buying your items, I'm already at the lost city buying my rings with no lines and no waiting. Even if you buy 100 at a time, and hope the rest update slowly through the hour...Isn't that time spent checking the GE and withdrawing the bought items? Doesn't that compare to oh I don't know...clicking trade and Buy x? Now even if you buy all the items at once, don't you have to type in the names of the items you're buying? Doesn't that take time? What if the middle price isn't selling? What if you have to go higher? If you're going to nit-pick every second in my method, you better believe I'll do the same. 11 minutes in not much time at all. It could be because it's 1 in the morning, but I don't even know where you're getting 49 minutes from in the first place. Do you want to know what I did in the last 11 minutes? Not a damn thing. You don't like the guide? Don't use it. But based on how you're responding, you alch ALL DAY EVERY DAY! If I don't see you alching tomorrow, I'll be very upset \ Not what your talking about, I can put an order in the GE in approx 3 seconds and click collect -> alch in about 5. How long does it take for you to get from Varrock to your store? If it's over 8 seconds, I'm afraid your entire argument just shot itself in the foot. You can go to "exchange", click on "buy", type in keywords of what you're buying select that item, then select a number, then if they even are available, you can collect them, close screen and go to alch page (which you also brought up as a 'time waster') in 5 seconds? You're a super human. Forget Runescape, you should be playing the game called God. What if that item isn't available? Then what? Then you have to do it over again. Don't forget you have to do this every time you need to get more items, as I'm sure buying 800 rune maces at once isn't going to happen. Yup. I click place order, I type "bat", click on the battlestaff (~2.5 seconds), click the '1k' button once, click place order (~2 seconds), close the GE window and click on the alch tab. Perhaps we should have a little race. I try to place an order for battlestaffs, you try to run to lost city and buy rings. We'll see which takes longer. If it's me, nothing really changes; my whole GP argument still applies. If it's you, your entire post is invalidated. I'll eagerly be waiting for your challenge. Perhaps we could have Inushakent time it for us  who's to say the battlestaffs will sell instantly? There could be no battlestaffs at all for sale at the time you enter it in. Or the 100 you can buy a day could be there instantly. But after that 100, then what? You're missing the point that the point of this method is reliability. There is no way I would have to wait for more supplies, while there is a CHANCE you will. And as I keep saying, this guide is for those without piles and piles of money. How much are battlestaffs each? a little more than 9k? Who's to say someone can afford to buy 100 at a time? What if you only have 100k to work with? Getting 10 staffs at a time with a chance that someone else is buying them as well can be problematic. It's not a race as to who can enter in a number faster, but what product will sell, and will sell for cheap. Due to their set alch price, battelstaffs always buy instantly - there's no other purpose people buy them for. Other items like Adamant Axe (613 GP) alch for only 40 less then battelstaffs; there's tons of alternatives.

Which is faster, 65-65 or 70-60?
65 in both is lower XP... isn't this simple? :|

PvP Worlds Drop Potential
Yes.

Whats that??
Yup. Had like 9 people ask me when I was playing with Inushakent yesterday :-#

any way to reduce ping times?
Really not much, besides call your ISP. Not true. I get sub-200 ping to virtually any server in the world, and sub-100 almost anywhere.

Yes another computer-building thread
The specs look OK. You might not want to stick precisely to the dell version's components; you might be able to get a step up for a little extra or a step down for a lot less, for example. Your probably never going to fill that 750 GB drive, especially with a BD. You might want something a little beefier for a graphics card if you plan on playing WOW. Don't get XP 64, it has way too many problems. Now that Vista has the bugs worked out, there's no reason not to get the 64 version. It can be obtained for under $80.

Burst or Barrage?
Just point out terms that you don't understand, I never intended to post this so I just used shorthand for some stuff :-# XPH\burst is XP per hour bursting, ditto for barrage. CPH is cost per hour. All XP is summoning. The 422.4k is after you've decided burst is worth it. The only thing I could see that could be throwing off your 9 lob results is that I use 800 bursts\h for my 7 lob spot, as it's slightly faster then the 700\h at 9 lobs.

Jagex support on recoveries blows!!! Look/help!!
Here's a simplified version for those who can't comprehend the first post: OP was in the hospital, unable to play OP gave his password and account information to friends so they could earn money for him OP's friend gave the account members, and changed password and recovery questions OP got the password back, but his friend changed it again because he knew the recovery questions and had all the member information OP was unable to recover his account with only the password, and is angry Jagex let his friend (who knew both the members information\pin and the recovery questions) keep the account. OP declares "jagex are obvious morons" :wall:
