  1. That's true, but drivers are by far the #1 cause of bluescreens (The only 3 unintentional bluescreens I've gotten on vista were drivers, twice NVIDIA), and if the only thing he's doing different is using ethernet.. Not that network cards usually have driver issues, it was just a thought.
  2. Actually, since you only have to put your order in once for many hours of alching, I would assume I can do it in under 5 minutes (40 X 3), closer to 10 seconds. And believe it or not, it IS easier to not mess up when alching a stack of notes rather then an inventory of 28 items, I'm not sure what the GE orders have to do with it  Interesting how you consider that 'process' easier then pressing 5 once, but choices are choicse. Unfortuantly, mouse keys is STRONGLY not advised for moving and clicking - those up and down arrow keys move the exact same pixel length, far faster then a mouse, and are a huge red flag for autoing; I used a very similar thing for inventory dumping with mouse keys while mining and got 6 blackmarks on another account. Additionally, the switch to mouse -> keyboard -> mouse both take a significant amount of time, and the right click -> buy 10 with the mouse alone take nearly 2 seconds with a lot of practice.
  3. If you don't want to be a tanker, there's an easy solution - USE A TITAN. The general will go after him when he starts attacking. After he's on your summon, he can randomly change to any of the players and punch him without warning. One of my friends got 2 hit with a 60-37 when that happened. Bunyip and unicorn (non aggressive fams.) are the only ones you can use while tanking if you want to keep your friends.
  4. AGS = hilt goes better with armadyl ZGS = better for CW BGS = cooler looking animation SGS = better for PVP, better for PVM, better for boss hunting, better for Sara GWD Cold, hard facts. Sgs special beats AGS in PVP 2 to 1, except for PJing, and d claws beat AGS for PJing. Whip beats xGS for training, PVP (non KO) and PVM.
  5. A lot of the 1st post has changed, I just put the first paragraph in to reflect that; anyone who's read the newer replys knows I like the skill (not that that has anything to do with my point ;) )
  6. That's all very nice to know. Unfortunately, they are inferior to whip for training, PVP, and boss hunts. I'm afraid what your 'pretty sure of' is wrong.
  7. You can right click on the seller, go to the rings, right click, move your mouse to 'buy 10', click, move it back to the ring, repeat X3, close the bank store, switch back to the alch tab, and click to alch the next item in 2.5 seconds? Puh-lease, 2 seconds is "one thousand one, one thousand two, one thou". Count it out in your head and you'll realize how unrealistic it is. Yes, I am implying that moving your mouse to click on every item in your inventory in sequence will cause more messups then clicking twice at any speed in a single spot with the '5' key. Good luck watching a movie (as certain other players claim is possible) while doing that.
  8. Way to totally steal my two links, now everyone is using them -.- Well, those two pretty much take it, the only extra I can offer is do NOT use this guide: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=778791 You'll waste millions in time, GP, and XP. Alch one of the items on omy list.
  9. It could be your NIC driver...
  10. That was my opinion as of 2 1/2 months ago. As mentioned somewhere in the 10-15 page range, I got back into it and continued serious training.
  11. Not to keep your already-answered thread alive but.. Why is GIMP better than Photoshop? Is it just more user-friendly? It's not, at all. If you can't afford 70$ for Elements it's a very distant 2nd. It has nothing of the polish and automatic tools (moving heads in GIMP is a huge chore; elements outline tools and color matching selections make it a couple minutes work) of Photoshop.
  12. Your joking right? Slayer not only allows you to access some of the best item dropping (non-boss) monsters, but its also a much more fun way of training combat in general. Ignorance is bliss? Get it to 55 for broads and slayer dart. Yeah, you make that statement true. *points to signature*. It's not an opinion, it's a fact.
  13. Godswords? Terrible for training, bad for boss hunting, worthless for PVP aside from specs (AGS is out hit by dragon claws as well as cheaper). If you can afford SGS (I'm assuming you mean that, not sara sword), you better have 68 summoning; SGS has a few uses for healing while training, but it's not that great for most boss monsters or PVP. You heard wrong about barrows, magic is (and always has been) the best way to go.
  14. Feel free to show me where I'm wrong, and I'll gladly debate with you. Until then, please don't spam up this thread with posts of 0 discussion value (and ones against the rules as well).
  15. I highly disagree. When was the last time melee got a weapon unquestionably superior for both training, PVP, and boss hunting? Whip came out years before crossbows. Crossbows and DFS blew melee out of the water; melee's last "decent" update (Aside from speccing weapons, which have much less of an impact on boss hunting\training and to a lesser extent, PVP) was defenders, which were also quite long ago.
  16. First of all: I will admit, I enjoy training skills with some variety in actions vs. standing and clicking on the same thing many times After that, I disagree with the rest of your post. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADHD Armored zombies is standing and occasionally clicking at the same spot over and over and over. Slayer is switching through a wide variety of monsters in a goal-oriented training method with many possible methods. I personally enjoy slayer much more then armored zombies and plan to continue training it. Please show me where I said I didn't want to train the skill. My post isn't about how fun or good it is to train (I personally think it's very fun and a 'must train'.). It's about how much XP it is - a hard number. That has nothing to do with 'patience' or 'speed to level' or ADHD [side note] In real life, I have anything but ADHD - I'm very goal oriented and enjoy grinding away at a single thing to accomplish something [/side note]
  17. That's unfortunate, maybe you should try a few more so you could truly test it. I've spent around 200 hours ranging, perhaps your sample size is larger? Oh, and so you have hit 78 with AGS with your 69 strength? You can't claim 'melee maxes in the 70s' then say 'yeah well my range isn't high enough to max'. Mkay, I shall rephrase. Show me a melee weapon that maxes over 58 (96 X .6) with protection prayers. The prayer is irrelevant. Obviously dark bow doesn't max well for you; would you expect an AGS to max well for you with 66 strength and 75 attack?
  18. Previous posts of mine. You can get 100k XP per hour in attack and strength training controlled? Show me where, I'm only able to manage 50k per hour training half attack (whip) and half strength (sara sword) at my training spot of choice (Armored Zombies). I'd like to use yours.
  19. That's nice to know. I suppose you use no pots or prayer when you melee, and your avatar is faked? That's odd. How much PVP XP do you have? Diamond bolts fire about once every ~20 shots, at least half a dozen times in a food fight Yeah, I've heard that dark bow can do that too. Fortunately rangers have several types of specials, some of them manual (Dark bow, DFS) and some automatic (Diamond, ruby, emerald, dragonfire)
  20. I have a small, small idea for you. Read some of my previous posts. Melee has two skills to train. Range has one. Therefore, 99 range takes 1/2 the XP as 99 melee. Comprende? Let me know when you find a melee method that obtains 100k attack AND strength XP at the same time Granite maul? Oh yeah, the weapon that goes something like "0-0-0"? Yeah, I've heard about that. I think I hit about once every 8 specs last time I tried that on 99 defence. Unfortunately, you were imagining things. The d claws max 86\87 with a single spec; the only time the first hit can hit over 43 is when the other 3 are 0, at which point it can hit 49. For your outfit, see my setups.
  21. So let me get this straight, the whole point of your rant is about pepole who don't 'work' 'hard enough' for their money? I guess us merchants (My record so far is 5.2m in a day made with ~30 seconds of GE buying\selling) are hosed.
  22. I laughed :-w There is no doubt that there were sweatshops that DIDN'T macro for gold; that being said, I would assume the vast majority did - it's just simpler and faster then having an actual person play. However, eliminating macros would not have solved the RWT problem - the sweat shops would have simply moved on to people. Not that there is any anti-macro system that I'm aware of that isn't overly-invasive.
  23. Because there is no such thing as luck.
  24. Mac - Good for media editing and presenting. Saves money on electricity. Windows - Good for gaming and general use. I have worked with both types of systems. A lot of bands use Mac with the software ProPresenter. Mac really isn't that much better for presenting\editing. The CS4 suite covers most common editing needs, and PowerPoint 07 + Ovation is great for presenting.
  25. That includes everything, although it's closer to 65k with constant attention (Not that I or my friends usually slay like that :P )
