  1. Read. This. Page. http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... cle_id=567
  2. It's a corollary to my next argument, proving it correct. Or maybe because I'm correct and your trying to use it to avoid an argument. Also, I have a question: If you were in middle school 4 years ago, how old are you now? What on earth does that have to do with their financial records? Your trying to say employee cost is 0, while this chart from their records says your wrong: And let us not forget CR: More like your a fool who's trying to argue against a company's financial records and the decimal system itself =D>
  3. As far as I know, FTP and PTP are made by the same company (Jagex Ltd.). Source: Jagex.com. As such, the repercussions from a change are felt across the company; you won't have one sector failing without the company backing it up. On one side, we have Jagex financial records. On the other, we have "T3h1337m3x1c4n" saying he doesn't believe them with no logic or sources whatsoever to back up his claim. Let's see, who wins? Sorry, but Jagex knows more about Jagex then you
  4. *raises hand* I have something valuable to say! As a quote from a mod proved, Jagex had been under pressure and threat of law suit due to credit card fraud, and was forced to chose between credit card payment and ending RWT. Since nearly 90% of their USA subscribers used credit card (Not sure where you live, but I'm in the US and the credit card is BIG), they faced the decision to lose 60k subscribers (mostly macros, some disgruntled PKers) and change the gameplay style of a small percentage of the population (PKers), or shut down the game from the loss of a large portion of their subscriber base. They made the choice to keep the game going, regained far more subscriptions, and have continued to grow by leaps and bounds. Give one good reason that removal of the trade limit would be worth shutting down RS, as you seem to have overlooked that in your posts.
  5. #3: In order to maintain a stead profit, if costs in one sector increase costs in another sector must decrease to compensate (Simple addition, General Math; Detailed in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algebra) Why do you disagree? What makes you think Jagex is exempt from the laws of decimal math? Any logical reason besides the Jagex towers being situated in a black hole? Since you rattled on so long about sources, I'd like to see some on YOUR data  Reasonably so, but it's yet another cost.
  6. Then why is this in a RS rant forum? Shouldn't it go in off topic?
  7. And for making a profit, cooking DOES suck. But if you enjoy the skill, it doesn't suck. What's your point? :?
  8. I'll go through the steps again: #1: Jagex is a for-profit business (jagex.com) #2: The goal of a for-profit business, by definition, is to make a profit (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/for-profit) #3: In order to maintain a stead profit, if costs in one sector increase costs in another sector must decrease to compensate (Simple addition, General Math; Detailed in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algebra) Final statement: If FTP costs go up, PTP costs must come down to maintain profit, as detailed in #3. Please explain which of the steps you think are incorrect. Jagex mods to read forums and post stickies as well as interfere in serious cases certainly aren't, but I believe the bulk of the costs will be hosting and bandwidth.

We're talking about being killed for item loss; specifically, losing items for no good reason - not something with inherent risk as a balance like bosses. Again, it's the insult, not the risk or action - it's a built in element, but the insults themselves set it apart. Which is true of money in RL as well. How many people do you know that would starve to death if they lost, 20$, 50$, or even 100$? I'm not comparing the RS items, I'm comparing the genera idea that just because the physical medium isn't valuable in and of itself doesn't mean there isn't a value assigned to it. They most certainly do not compare to RS. I've played quite a few myself and watched videos, and I've NEVER seen anything comparing to HD. OpenGL rendering is difficult to decompile and reassemble, and very time consuimg to build from scratch. I'd like to see a link. That also has little to do with PKing; items must be earned in the real RS, which is the problem with losing them when PKed.
  10. We agreed about acting, but disagreed on being... Do you honestly think I care at all what you think of me? I'm not going to say I lost just because it makes you happy when I didn't. Sorry, but the dictionary takes precedence over you. Because it's a waste of admins time for a trivial issue. I try to keep the mods on my side; I frequently get posts deleted (sometimes with good reason, my sarcasm has been known to get out of hand  ), but I only bother when I feel that an important point has been unfairly removed. Agreed, that's why I love slayer \ First of all, if you think I'm wrong on the wildy thread, post there - not here. That being said, it was VERY obvious from the discussion who was right and wrong. Zero was trying to be stubborn, but his continued bullheadedness and refusal to accept that I knew what I meant better then him proved his Achilles's heel. It may come as a complete suprise to you, but except for a few (duely noted) exceptions, I DO think I am correct when I'm in an argument. Then again, by definition, an argument (a dispute where there is strong disagreement) REQUIRES that I think I'm right. If you don't like my opinions, your welcome to add me to your ignore list. Then you obviously didn't look close enough, it's all in there - and you'd have to read it anyway to argue it. I make a point of responding to every issue raised by a poster by quoting each part of their argument. If they don't think I've responded to a particular part well enough, they can point it out. It's certainly much better then many other posters I've seen, who cherry pick sentences they disagree with. I'm working on it, but I readily accept feedback :P Results without method details are as useless as a total XP number. All of the info is in my replies, I see no reason why I should spoon feed it to them so they can blather on with points already covered long ago.
  11. I did, and all it references to is the appearance of maturity and capability of long term decision making. Neither do your petty insults, used as an excuse to cover up being proven wrong. How are we supposed to debate over something we agree upon? Please teach me the skill, it'd enable a lot more exciting debates  Agreed, but Armored Zombies still wins :P Copy and paste or (handier) Greasemonkey scripts.
  12. All he and you mentioned was that both children and adults can appear mature, which I completely supported. My argument, detailed at viewtopic.php?f=66&t=787454&start=360#p6563861, was never responded to. Odd, perhaps you should rethink in light of you having been proven wrong, as you seem to be having difficulty dealing with it. Lack of debating skills would indicate that I would generally be proven wrong in debates, when it seems to be the opposite. I tried that with other posts, but it generally requires a copy and paste of the contents, the name of the deleting mod, and clear-cut evidence that no rule was being broken to argue it successfully to the admins - they aren't perfect either, and the prefer to let things rest rather then argue a technicality. It didn't bother me much, though; I had communicated my point, and I let it slide.
  13. I'm afraid you mis-remembered it, it was I who posted the definitions. If you wish to continue that debate, I suggest using the appropriate thread. Since my last post remains on it, I'll ignore further posts in this thread and wait for you to post there. What does that have to do with this argument? A mod deleted my signature, but it wasn't against the rules, as an admin confirmed. Mods aren't perfect.
  14. No, I didn't. What thread are you referring to? I'm talking about the Wilderness thread where you were determined to prove that I didn't know what I meant using a made up definition, which I quickly corrected by pointing to the dictionary page to back mine up. You responded by promptly leaving. Ah, so you agree that my thread is indeed a good argument with no current evidence against it? In that case, what are we arguing about? I was under the impression you thought I was proven wrong in this thread :!: That's odd, someone must have hacked your account and submitted this post. I'd advise you to change your password and contact the mods so the proper action can be taken against him.
  15. Last time I checked, the dictionary doesn't do much realty concoction and caries a bit more credence then someone who tries to argue with it. That would be a fun argument, if it were not for the simple fact that the 'contradicting evidence', as you so call it, thus far does not exist. I wish it did, though. Someone needs to hurry up and prove slayer better  Also, the argument "He proved me wrong last time we argued, therefore he is incapable of recognizing he is wrong!" argument caries little water, but does carry a delicious taste of irony.
  16. Jagex has never released articles on algebraic equations to my knowledge, and Wikiepdia is a widely accredited source for accurate information. Here's another source if you don't really trust wikipedia; I can assure you that they are quite reliable: http://library.thinkquest.org/20991/prealg/eq.html
  17. http://www.mathleague.com/help/algebra/algebra.htm You might find this interesting. You'll probably learn it in a few years in school, but it'll help you understand for now. Read through it, and do a few practice problems so you know how to solve basic equations. Then come back and it'll all make sense
  18. What does the number of people agreeing with you have to do with anything at all, especially when you were proven wrong? Also, what does that have to do with slayer?
  19. Since you seem to have given up on the argument, I'll clarify my original point for future readers. Jagex has done a great job combating RWT, and continues to make smart business decisions despite a few angry players trying to be business experts thinking otherwise.
  20. I wasn't aware that algebra and a capitalistic form of business fell under "opinion", but I suppose you didn't bother reading my links. I'll be nice and give you an example. Let "X" equal revenue generated. X - Cost (FTP) - Cost (PTP) + Gross Income = Profit For Profit to remain steady, Cost + Gross Income must remained inversely balanced. Therefore, if Cost (FTP) is increased without increasing Gross Income, Cost (PTP) must be reduced to maintain profit.
  21. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buisness See the section under 'capitalist business', pointing out that the point of a business, in this situation, is to produce revenue. Now, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algebra, if one subtracts a number from one side of an equation, the resulting solution will be lower then the previous solutions. Now, last time I checked, Algebra was taught in 7th to 8th grade, leading me to believe your either a hermit with a poor understanding of math, or too young to legally post on these forums in the USA.
  22. Unusual, for someone whos avatar proudly endorses "gettin stuipd". That being said, it would considerably improve communication if you decided who you were talking to.
  23. Less money spent on game development = fewer updates. Quite simple.
  24. Point being? Keep thinking you know more about a game then the massive company who created it. Makes you look real smart. Point made. You saying YOU do? Mm. Sure. Who are you talking to? You quoted my post, but you seem to be referring to someone else :?
  25. Gladly. Less money spent on updates = fewer updates. Then why are you arguing? Point being? Sort of ruins your little point of "no updates in the past 5 years". Nice try with the ad hominem argument, but puns are generally considered to be the lowest form of humor. Sarcasm idicates cunniningness and a contempt for the target, and is widely regarded to be an efficient method with which to subtle communicate the above. Looks like you made a typo there, then. Perhaps you could tell me what you really meant to say? Do I really have to spell it out for you? I never said most, and I specifically said that it was the exact opposite. It might be a good idea to read my posts before responding to them =D>
