Not really, although that would apply too; I'm simply saying that speed is the sole factor on one side of the damage debate, whereas bonuses and levels work together - halve the speed, and the damage is halved. Halve the range bonus, and the damage is reduced from 0-<50%. It's cold, hard numbers :P

Nope, there are other factors like range level that come into play with power, but speed stands alone. So bonuses have a much smaller effect then speed, as there are multiple variables. In a war with a weapon with +50 range and double the speed vs. +100 range and half the speed, the +50 range would always win - there would be a noticeable accuracy drop, but it would be insignificant compared to the speed difference.

They have higher accuracy, but the short bows speed makes up for it. What's the use of javelins, throwing axes, darts, or any other of the many 'junk' items? There can only be one best item for any situation, and the rest will be unused.

So I spend1/6th my time responding, and 5/6ths waiting. Luckily, I developed a greasemonkey script to help with the submitting so it doesn't bother me as much any more, but it's still annoying. Set an arbitrary post count requirement, say, 3k+ posts. We've been around a lot and responded many times, special privileges wouldn't hurt. Also, this is INCREDIBLY annoying in forum games, where a post is often a few characters that take less then a second to type.

It's not a glitch or bug in the sense that it slipped through Jagex programming - it deals with the way they coded the potential for randoms, and what builds up chances and what relieves it. It's not something that can be exploited, so I highly doubt it's something he can get banned for.

Ok... When you splash with magic, you don't get any XP, you don't deal any damage, and you don't get the benefit of any special bonuses from that attack. The same applies to melee. When you miss, you don't deal any damage, you don't get any XP, and you don't get any special bonuses from that attack (i.e. SGS healing, ZGS freezing).
