  1. It's the soloers who won't be able to get a world, and the large teams that will. Why make soloing that much harder and team killing that much easier and profitable? It doesn't make sense to me; soloing requires much more skill and should be rewarded, not punished :|
  2. It makes farcasting and dodging much easier, as anyone who's ever tried can attest to. Glitch jumping behind a rock means your safe even if your spell splashes or when he gets unfrozen.
  3. Lesse, how many times do I have to tell you you came in the conversation late and previous posts prove my response correct? I'm well over a dozen now. I'm not sure if they can, although it would vary depending on age. All the wiki says is that it's not specifically tied to age, but that certainly doesn't mean it's not a factor. Then again, it's an opinionated argument that I don't really want to get into as it has no right answer and doesn't apply to this thread.
  4. No, you completely missed the point. The problem isn't that they could pick them up, the problem is that they could and new players cannot. I can go to a party, a person who just joined yesterday can go to a party. So that has nothing whatsoever to do with the argument, and I'm not really sure why you insist upon bringing it up.
  5. Because drop parties can be accessed by anyone who wants to. Can you go back in time and get a party hat? My (actually, Jagex's) point exactly.
  6. Physical maturity doesn't have to do with your age? That's interesting. I'd like to see some links. And I wasn't. I don't see the problem.
  7. But they don't contradict each other. His post wasn't an isolated incident; we had been discussing and applying the interrelation between the two long before that post was made. It had already been made obvious that the two had similar characteristics, and the crossover was muddied and uncertain. That was agreed on many pages ago. The argument is and has been whether or not I lied when I said that's all I meant. Zero's convinced I meant more, I'm convinced I didn't
  8. Nice little made up story there. Now, as I was saying, Jagex specifically said they didn't like the idea of players getting rich from picking up an item off the round. They had simply meant for the items to be fun, and this certainly wasn't there goal. As such, they made them untradeable - long before the RWT issue raised its ugly head.
  9. Barrows items represent only about 30% of the total income, so the recent crash doesn't mean much. The blood and bolt racks do, though. The current hourly average at the fastest rate I can manage is 480k per hour; at your rate, it would be closer to 300k\h.
  10. Read the updates. The high polygon count on the first cape was screwing with the emote. It had to be done.
  11. 1) So? Your saying you can either get just as good of a chance or a significantly better chance 2) Good combat? How's that different from killing monsters on regular worlds not using your method? High thieving is one of the easiest 99s, and takes a very short amount of time to achieve 3) How's that different then regular kills? Whoever gets the kill in a regular team gets this all to themselves, it's no different then if it is split up. I'm not sure how big of a difference your planning on, but if it's anything noticeable, it will have an effect on prices, screwing the poor soloer in regular worlds. I don't have a strong opinion on this, and I think it's kind of cool, but I'm bored so I'm seeing if I can debate against what I think
  12. Or a cheapening of the older drops, making regular boss hunting less profitable and special boss hunting far more profitable and hard to beat the competition to.
  13. Define balanced character ;) Most people (Like *ahem* you) have far higher combats then skills, including slayer. So very few people are balanced, and those who aren't generally aren't because of slayer\combat, not in spite of :P That being said, the maxing out argument still applies. If you play for 8 hours a day for years on end, your going to be better off slaying in the long run when you max out :?
  14. Not only would it be physically impossible for me to write my posts without reading then, there are dozens of pages covering this argument in the responses. Since you obviously haven't read even my first post, I'll do you a favor and quote it here, but please don't make stuipd statements like saying I didn't read my own posts -.-
  15. Not sure if that's sarcasm, but that's the idea...
  16. Here's a few interesting characteristics I'd like to see how you plan to adjust your GE for. #1. Times of the day make a HUGE difference in prices. Near 10-12PM Eastern time, when the majority of US players are looking to loan out their items before sleep\school, the price can drop as much as 5 times - it's difficult to get over 300k for dragon claws at ANY loan length in those times #2. Amount per hour varies vastly depending on loan duration. A 1 hour loan might commend 100-150k\h; a 3 hour loan might get 75k\h, and a 12 hour loan would get at most 40k\h. #3. Market conditions play a huge factor in loan prices. Whenever there is a big rise or fall in the market price, or a crash\skyrocket in the market value, everyone is trying to buy or sell their pair for the best deal possible, not loan them out for a few hundred K. In the meantime, panic builds in the loaning area and prices are driven far above the standard. I've gotten 600k for 2 hours in situations like this. #4. Fluctuation within the loaning circle. Let's say there's 3 people borrowing claws. Currently there is no one loaning, and each of them are willing to pay 300k for 5 hours. 15 minutes later, no one has shown up, and they each begin trying to outbid each other. The price could easily be driven over 600k before two of them drop out and someone finally shows up. The reverse happens with multiple loaners and no one wanting to borrow. That's just scratching the surface of those issues. I'm greatly interested in how you plan to solve them, and believe me, there's FAR more issues to be addressed. They can wait until I hear your current solutions. Also, in response to your question... Yeah, if I wanted to RWT, I could offer my whip 1 hour for 50m. Would anyone take it? Nope. Unless I payed a company 20$ in real world money to 'borrow' it, and thus transfer 50m GP to me. Exaggerated, but hopefully you get the point. I'll be eagerly awaiting your response.
  17. So you'd rather there was no RS at all? That's your other choice. If you would indeed rather there were no RS at all, then please refrain from logging in and let us who decided otherwise enjoy our vastly improved game. Also, troll censor is going through the roof.
  18. Don't forget the new ranks... IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME! I wonder if any of the admins are aware of the X-rated undertones behind that...
  19. Dragon claws are the fastest-special-damage-dealing weapon in the game. The special does more damage then any other weapon including AGS. If you PVP much, dragon claws are THE choice for PVP. BGS doesn't even come close to comparing.
  20. IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!
  21. It still is, quel. The mage should be level 35 combat, at which the meleer is going to be 30-35 strength. Your hitting 16s, he's hitting 11s. Your not going to be getting chopped. Also, where are you talking about? I already said that the areas are far from a bank, and I don't usually meet up with piles of PJers in deep wildy, monastery, or any of the half dozen uncrowded PK areas where people actually get kills. Avoiding PJers is as simply as watching your surroundings. It comes across as if you've never tried this...
  22. Fun factor was included in my post as the only reason to train it, BUT, my counter argument is: Who are you to say what I find fun and don't? Slayer is running around in circles killing the same few monsters over and over, requiring lots of attention and getting inferior XP. Armored zombies is killing the same monster, but not having to pay much attention, allowing movie\tv watching, forum posting (ahem) etc. etc. I don't particularly like training, and I would rather do GWD or PVP. So why should I waste time with an inferior method, especially one that I don't particularly enjoy?
  23. Both. I've said that quite a few times; they are tied together, and in this case he was referring to physical as well as thought processes. You said you already agreed that brain development is a physical process as well. The debate is now about if I was lying when I said that's what I meant. Your accusing me of lying, I'm proving that I'm not. It wasn't specifically an example to literally, it was an example of extrapolating from previous posts that proved the poster thought differently then the literal interpretation of his words, and I responded as such. I never said this specific post was unreadable; what I did say is that it was short sighted and not well thought out, and as such, the issues were quickly settled. It would be an excellent idea to read responses to a post before you ridicule them. Admins are having fun with the censor :? That debate was settled in the first page; only an idiot could try to pursue it. Me and zero are keeping this thread alive, and this is all the thanks we get?
  24. It's very accurate, I think you just haven't tried it enough...
  25. Which would be why you PK somewhere with a ghost of a chance of a kill, not 3 squares from a safespot...
