You don't have to have 93 in those skills, you could keep training one of them once they reach 99 to gain HP hitpoints without gaining other combat skill levels. I've seen a level 78 with one. I forgot, but it was definitely fairly low.

I interpreted his question as, what ways can I make money through combat, and I have Guthans and soon-to-be 99 def at my disposal. Meaning, he doesn't have to use Guthans in whatever money making he's using, but I guess he would like to if it's solo.

Well there's one thing that's almost for sure, these are experienced players who have put many hours into the game, and lots of thought into it.

I think it was pretty clear there is no way to "break even" with alching if you buy all your supplies. In other words, no you can't buy for 500 each. If someone did sell for that cheap, I can guarantee that it'll be sold within like a minute.

Nothing changes as you gain levels in regards to burning fires, not lighting faster nor lasting longer. It's not really a rich skill, more of a "I have patience and a lot of time/determination" skill. It's buy-able under like 3m.

guthan spears are going up too. I currently have the max put up to buy a guthans spear, been a day and still no offer. Most people don't sell those sorts of items to the GE. I've had a lot of money in my GE trying to buy barrows, but never a sale, the same with some other rarer armors. Of course there are exceptions but I think most people still use forums or in-game (W2) to sell these sorts of items.

It's not a very good idea, there would be many consequences to it.... and names are just names, they're not THAT important.

Almost 0% chance of breaking even if you buy both. Only cases I've seen that it's worked out was with Green D'Hide bodies, people sold at 4.4k each because there were so many. But of course, those went FAST and were only a few. You know, you could just calculate these things yourself. Look up item prices, and do math.

Darn search function, can't find anything with it. :cry: :cry: What other guides are there, besides muggiwhplar's? I wasn't on for a while so I missed the updates they did to Fight Caves and it seems some parts of his guide don't work anymore, but the majority is still right. Well I'm on wave 30 some right now and logged out, just curious to look at another guide to see if I should change my strategy when I continue on.

But there's always a chance it'll be like Hunter, a gathering skill, where you really don't need money.

I would first check prices and see if it still works before undertaking this task. Prices change over time and especially after GE came out.

Yes, they continue to grow when you're logged out, so they can still die.

Or Blogscape, we have a couple 99 Hunters and high level Hunters there. Or in the Miscellaneous forum, there is a thread that gives 100% loot for a short period of time.

If you're worried about dropping the logs and losing "potential money" you could always burn them in the area. Free FM exp but of course it'll slow down your WC exp.

I tried all day today to get "cheap" prices for D'Hides. In the GE I've been buying for 1550 and haven't got any (maybe because of other buyers) and on forums I've found almost no sellers, except for 1.6k. I got a few in-game PM's but those weren't much better. Any suggestions on where to look for cheaper D'Hides?
