  1. i kinda thought he was running off his phone's internet :o
  2. just wondering why you have a 2gb limit?
  3. i second that, i LOVE the old linksys routers, but the newer ones are bleh. (still rocking a WRT54G :D works like a charm)
  4. first, that looks like a pretty solid setup (not knowing what CPU you have) why would you have an old monitor with that setup? first i would do is verify that the monitor is the problem
  5. have you tried the actual rs client? i think that's IE based if not mistaken... i've heard of a few mac users having issues loading rs not quiet sure i think it has something to do with how the new OS does Java also, you could try Chrome (google's browser) ninja'd ^
  6. idk bout you but for my log of 90 torstols planted (i've planted way more but only kept a log of 90 so far) and i can only say it is about the 10% that it states that you get back from live herbs in the 90 i've done, i've gotten 8 seeds back BUT 4 of those seeds are literally 8 seeds apart from each other so all i can say is stick it out and remember it is all *random*
  7. yes, as said before, I HIGHLY req getting Juju potions + magic secateurs + remote farming, my patches never die and yes if it lives and you have super-composted it the min u can get is 5. normal compost i believe is minimum of 3 but not sure as i always use super personal record with torstols is 76
  8. 7. what is the recommended plants/trees in an average farmer's run? (for experience, im going for 99) depends if your paying the farmers to watch your trees or not, i'd say just go with yew but if your paying you can always do magic (remember to ALWAYS use super compost on trees, even if you pay the farmer, as it reduces grow time - if i'm not mistaken) almost forgot... 2. what is the average profit per run for torstols with jujus and a scroll of life? ( I also use the remote farming spell every 20 mins so they never die) i average at 10.4 herbs per seed (not that large of a sample size but enough for me to say it's reasonably accurate for me - maybe i have good luck?)
  9. yes, it will run it, but without a better gfx card it will not run smoothly. my gateway FX (first gen FX) has more ram and a geforce9800 and it lags at the loading spots. *EDIT* i see your sig says win xp.... so it would run it better but still not totally smooth
  10. [/hide] Hmm. Question one is difficult... I use both browsers, but I have problems with both. I suffer a bad support for things like java/flash/shockwave (<--lol who uses that anymore?) etc.. while using Safari. But Safari offers a safer environment, less flaws and loopholes. Meanwhile, Firefox... good old Netscape... it's generally fast, reliable, has awesome add-ons and all that fun stuff and makes for a good overall browser... in theory, anyway. I have had a horrible time with Firefox (my main browser) for the last several years, despite complete removals, reinstallations. It takes on average 45 seconds to start up for the first time of the day. After that it takes 10 seconds to load up each new window or to quit/start it again. Really rather annoying... It also crashes a lot, gives me tons of whitescreens, and I have to turn it off through the activity monitor(3) sometimes as even though it's off, it'll still sometimes be be destroying my CPU. That was longer than I wanted... oh well, anyway, your bit about Apple not supporting flash. Unless this is about something with the new upcoming OS version, I believe what you're hearing is about Apple's iPhones, iPads, and iPodDon'tTouchMeTheres. They don't support flash, as, honestly, in both Apple, and my own opinion; Flash is an abhorrent abomination of computer programming with more security holes, scripting flaws, and is prone to more crashing and bluescreening of your computer than any worm virus trojan or a hammer straight to your motherboard. So yeah, hope my opinion helps you out a little... I couldn't give you a Safari or Firefox direct answer, as I use both, and I don't know which I'd suggest you use for everyday use. I'd just try them out and see how it goes. :) [/hide]I don't want to start that argument again, but it does sound like you've been eating up all of Apples words and are reiterating them without any research. I've been using Flash for the past 10 years and I haven't suffered any 'crashing' or 'bluescreening' at all, let alone faults that are comparable with taking a hammer to your motherboard ;) If firefox had as many loopholes and security flaws as you imply then why would over 1/4 people use it? Why is there not more hype about how it opens up your computer to hackers if what you say is true? If you have such a problem with firefox and safari then just use Chrome. THIS^ QFT just an FYI safari has never been a good browser, ( ok ok it's like a smidgen better than IE but that's not street cred is it?) your real question should be FF or Chrome.
  11. yeah... running jogging = those gummy earbuds that dont fall out.... gaming = headset
  12. I've cleaned and then reinstalled a few OS's a few computers in my time and i have to say W7 is the best as far as everything works after an install.. (even better than XP :o ) That's not to say being careful isn't needed, put all the drivers listed for your hardware on a flashdrive like everyone else has said... but honestly for me, all i had to do for my gateway FX laptop when doing a clean install from vista to W7 was get the specific graphics card driver, ( and that was 75mb or something so it's understandable that it didn't come with W7, but even without the driver, my laptop ran smoothly) everything else just flat out worked perfectly. EDIT* Yes W7 has higher min reqs but after turning off all the widgets and the flashy graphics options (areo or something?) ( i run my gateway FX to look like XP ) i found that W7 runs MUCH smoother than vista, (although that "tiny xp" install still ROCKS for old as hell laptops)
  13. my only question is if your going to be playing games on this computer wouldn't you rather upgrade instead of having a drive plugged in all the time... I mean, that does limit your mobility... That being said, i do prefer western digital drives (I LOVE my 1TB drive i got from them and filled up, although the 3TB drive i bought from them crashed after having it for only 28 days) if you just want a bit of room and aren't storing huge files like I'm doing then stick with the 500gb-1tb range, you should be able to find them for around $75-100
  14. i'd be interested to know if the potion boost stacks with the holy wrench.
  15. 1. he's right, there are better spots for your traps 2. it really depends on what potions your going for or if your just trying to train hunter... if you want to train hunter, go back to commons, pretty sure it's fastest til draconic (could be wrong) if you want farming potions ( my main reason for going there) then stay with Igneous after you have a few Ugune seeds from the commons as soon as you hit 78 you can hunt Diseased and make some hunter potions. (that you will need for draconic)
  16. don't forget Recipe For Disaster for the awesome gloves.
  17. not sure if it's a good idea but yes there is a safe spot.
  18. they might have changed it but it used to be just the green chest needed the quest to be worn
  19. So once, you got banned because the hacker did something and 4 times you were basically afk'ing? Sounds like all five of them are legit to me. Once wasn't your fault and four times you technically did break the rules. Fair? Probably not, especially the time you got hacked and when you consider how little attention is need for some skills. But sill legit. Just because you don't think you were doing anything wrong, doesn't mean Jagex will see it that way. It doesn't mean that they don't know how (or just flat out can't) detect proper rule breakers, but they do need a serious revamp of the rules to reflect the way people train due to the ways they've updated the game since those rules were written. wait, now where in the rules does it say i have to pay attention to what people say while I'm skilling? I'm sitting on my couch with my laptop watching netflix on my ps3, but still actively playing. I do all random events that may happen to me. But i dare say i have better things to do with my time than stare at yew trees or fishing spots until the tree/fishing spot disappears. and my main point was that they didn't investigate the hacking incident AT ALL (either that or they are incompetent) I know that if i had normally gone around staff impersonating then yes i should be banned, but any checking would have shown it was a hacker.
  20. Okay. I'm going to have to ask you to settle down. Just as you hate "Jagex hugging brats," I equally hate people who seem to think it's edgy and cool to criticize Jagex for everything that they do and to basically discount any of their efforts whatsoever, because that's the flavour of the month. Any system's first priority is to stop false positives from occuring. I'm sure Jagex would rather leave 10 bots unbanned than ban 1 legitimate player falsely. I know a LOT of people in this game, and not ONCE have I heard of anyone getting legitimately falsely banned at all. A sample space of one, unconfirmed example isn't enough to just start yelling "FU FU JAMFLAX OMFG STOP BANNING LEGIT PLAYERS YOU MAKE ME SICK!!!" And the comments made about the parenting wasn't about the ban - it was about the fact that, as a parent, OP obviously has no trust in their children because they went all net-nanny on their 10 year old, instead of taking the time to try and explain to their child what is right or wrong to do on the internet, and to let them apply this knowledge themselves. Using this cavalier approach of just trying to ban them from running any executable files will just cause their children to question why these restrictions are in place, and hence, try to find a way around them - it's human nature. Also, if the child is 10 years old, they really shouldn't be playing the game, unless under adult supervision. An internet blocking device is just a plain lazy way to avoid actually having to watch your child. Open communication will do far more than any online filter can do. Reply was so dumb I nearly didn't even bother responding to it. Jagex famously banned the first person to 99 range because they didn't think it was real, he later went to Andrew with his laptop to show him it was legit. Jagex had no control or idea of the famous dupe, so they banned anyone with 'suspicious' amounts of items. Countless among countless wrongly banned people on these forums, with screenshots of conversations with TEMPLATE replies because their customer support system is beyond a joke. From sleeping bags to random events, Jagex can't do [cabbage] about Bots, and the only system they have is players hitting the report button and wrongly accused accounts get no further look unless you pay them money, pathetic. (Don't argue here please, there is way too much evidence). Please, and please, don't [bleep]ing post if you don't know [cabbage]. Jagex have terrible customer support - fact. Jagex have no resources to control exploits in their game and pinpoint disasters ( Durial, row, dupe, knife bug, the list goes on forever). Countless people have been wrongly banned and [cabbage] all has been done about it. This is a rant section where players will whinge about this and people placed in similar positions can relate and discuss. What ruins these forums is the pathetic jagex huggers who don't know [cabbage] and actually believe they do the correct thing. You're discussion on parenting matters isn't worth my time, you sound like a University student with 0 idea so I'm not even going to try to contest you're dumb views. Maybe you shouldn't have bothered posting and went with your gut instinct because all that post proved was that you're not a very nice person. Quite precisely, IHas. Talk about blowing things way out of proportion, Elucin8er. You're actually basing everything you've said on things from what...5+ years ago? Are you kidding me? Countless people wrongly banned and posting 'proof' of it? Are you that gullible to believe a picture shown to you only portraying one side of a story? Personally I haven't ever come across someone being banned for no reason what so ever, there's always more to it than meets the eye. Sometimes their accounts have been breached and banned for activities done by a third party on the account...And the ban is moreoften lifted once appealed by the true owner. They don't just go banning people willy-nilly because they suspect they may be botting, and that I'm 100% certain of. You hate people who see sense, apparently. Well I can assure you the feelings are mutual... Going out on a whim because you may know the OP and believe just from that that there was no wrong doing...Oh how foolish. wow. just, wow. I've been playing since rsc. and i have MULTIPLE examples of what Elucin8er is talking about, spanning from rsc to about 2 months ago. I've been banned for impersonating jagex staff.... I got hacked, the kicker was i was pming the hacked account from my secondary while standing next to him repeatedly typing the account has been hacked, multiple people still reported me and the account was banned, now, one would think they would run a simple ip trace (because the ip was that logged on to my account was from a completely different country, or, hell just comparing the ip that normally logs on) before banning a 5 year old account running around lumb walking up to pmods telling them to give them their password because they worked for jagex >.< I've been illegitimately banned 5 times, 1 the result of a hacker, the other 4 from watching t.v. while doing one of the time consuming and mind-numbing-barely-necessary-to-pay-attention-to skills. In conclusion, yeah they do kinda willy-nilly ban people. and give cookie cutter responses, (posted on these forums) But by all means, put your faith in customer support.
  21. The wilderness wasn't risky before, even when revenants were around being honest. revs were more annoying than pkers tbh
  22. YES. dust is a huge problem with old towers, idk if you have cleaned it but that is something that would be very helpful, aside from that it sounds like it could also be a power supply problem. pop it open and take a look, and btw screw norton it sucks balls.
  23. i just always started with the plant curing and fertilizing then energized her if needed ( tip, when she announces the next stage, if she uses 1 arm she is tired, 2 arms means she is fine ) then moved on and fix the 2 spots in the fence that are broken as you pick up and string the plants.... once you get good at identifying what plants are what strain you should be able to do everything in each stage with 5-10 sec to spare to plank make til the next stage happens and remember every spot is ALWAYS the same plant so you can even make a picture with numbers or something to help you remember
