well if you consider that the sara staff and zammy staff keep lowering lvls, i would venture a guess to say guthix does the same (sara staff + smith was awesome back in old wildy to smite out protect itemers)

i quit when they took out pking and i just recently came back (3days ago) can you fill in for me what the god items you got were? the icons and such?

i'd have to agree with that... it's less about skill and more about "lol i had a god sword in my inventory waiting to spec you" same with D-bow and D-claw they need to raise the HP cap or rework the fundamentals of the hp system, I've always said (even back in rs1) that the longer a game is out the more and more powerful items will become and the need to update the levels and caps that the game has.... the BEST example is dare i say it, WOW, they released WotLK and guess what? they up'd the level cap, yes you can say it makes some previous "best weps" pointless, but thats like crying that your rune scim sucks when you go from f2p to p2p, get serious. I play the game for fun, and if I'm in a fight and i eat three times cause the guy is * specing me and some dip*hit sitting there with void D-bow and melee prayer on specs me and nails like 30-30 or some ridiculous number then 1 of 3 things happens: 1. you die 2. you dont die and the kid runs out because your low on hp and still eating 3. your fast enough to pop pray and run out with the introduction of these weps with good spec's and no change in the levels it has become increasingly easier and easier to get the levels (so more people are maxed)... it's basically made it easier to be childish and grief.

Can't you just hit them with freezing spells too? Tele block, freeze, this = GG. but your forgetting, tabs and tele spells.... cause 1/2 of all ppl carry them also... we need a follow tele target.. that would be amazing... person tele's and you have 4 secs to cast "tele follow" (of course this won't work if you couldn't tele there due to a quest)

i have a main, and a barrow pure and ITS THE SAME either way. rofl ok try to stay out of a bank when you have 3 1 item dds/ ss / anchor's / crystal bows waiting to tag you at every bank. i smite, they run into the bank where i get A WHOLE 10 secs to kill them with their prot pray and them running up and down the stairs... i don't/can't pk for money.... 'cause you only get like 1/6 of what you should have gotten... lol i killed full verac (yes he was skulled) and got a white mystic top and a karils coif 0 there is no way you can make the money back from the sharks/pots you lose unless you: A. never die B. NH the entire time (pj with gs/dds you get the idea) C. always get the kill ( i watched a guy bank, eat to full health and run back out .... then i went on and killed him, full rune+dds+dscim = not my kill WTF BULL) i want pvp and i think its cool they brought it back but for the pkers that made a living off of it in the old days i wish they had updated the pking thing like they did with rsc and rs2. then maybe 80% of my friends wouldn't have quit.

and how is this staff "won" do i just kill as many ppl as i can and hope to get as a drop?

agreed, i think it especially takes away from quests, and the TT with "wear diamond ring" it would be so much harder if i couldn't instantly get it from the GE.

what makes a good friend? well, first of all, TRUST, that is by far the most important aspect but the problem with this aspect is that it opens the door to being hurt. I also think the concept of friendship has changed over the course of rs, and not in a good way. I personally don't think the overall atmosphere of rs is conducive to making friends. I think it WAS, back probably as far back as rs1 but with updates such as the equal trade and the GE i think True friendship is much more rare to come by as it is harder to gain trust. *flashback* I remember back when one of my friends first bought a rune long... it was 32,000 gp and boy it took 5 of us FOREVER to make that much it was 2am and we went and killed hobgobs passing it back and forth and eventually making enough to buy all five of us one. I remember pking with my group of friends irl and in-game, now that is where true friendship shines though, fighting to the last lobster to try to take down mithril tank mages in var wilds lvl 5 (before there was even the concept of a multi wildy) through the years i've played rs pretty hardcore, i know my stats don't reflect that, partly because i've made to many pures. I hate the fact that rs hasn't done certain things that would improve the game to incorporate friendships more into the game (party/groups anyone? and don't say lootshare you know that's a crappy system) Oh snap i really didn't mean to rant about the updates that have so drastically changed the game, i'll end with this: have i made lasting friends? Yes, ONE, i've known her sense rs1 and she got banned (she got hacked and the hacker did some nasty things) and i gave her 5m or so in items and gp to get back on her feet, could i do that in the rs that is now? no, and i detest that fact, in a very real sense, jagex has changed and molded this game into it is a reportable offense transfer gold to a different account (sara sets in bh Pl0x?) or now give gold to a friend. Someone above me mentioned a friend mined silver and he crafted it and enjoyed it and created a lasting bond through it, i daresay you won't find many people that will do that now-a-days either because they don't have enough questpoints (WTF?) or because of the culture of runescape. Sorry for the long post and the bleak outlook but 25% of my friends have quit because of the dueling update and another 60% quit after pk was deleted (although it lit up a bit after they said full world pking was coming out)

Revenants are tougher than most PKers anyways. With dueling I was never into it much, just messed around a tad but i can see their point if they are using dragfire or onyx bolts and barraging...thats like 2 onyx bolts? it would have to be 300k to be worth anyones time as far as dueling goes. but you know what really annoys me? you can't put that arrogant jerk in his place when they mouth off to you or are just being a total jerk in general. There have been many a person i have dueled on my pure or my main account because their mouth wouldn't stop and they wouldn't back down from a challenge. Now what do i say? i have to ask them how many quest points they have :XD: and find out how much that corresponds to (it doesn't really matter how much because its a waste of MY time even if i win for 30k --- 8 black drags)

THANK YOU, finally more people see the light. it was fun in the beginning when people actually brought in items but now anyone with the second skull rating (or higher) without a clan is toast. Its funny, jagex doesn't support clans (i'm talking realistically supporting clans "clan chat" was a seriously flawed joke that even failed at the joke part) but yet they make updates like BH that make it a 1 item or massively swarm people but generally a combination of the two. The people I'm really sad for are the level FIFTIES that go in and a lvl 99 - 1specs them..... honor? ROFL!! NO, sorry someone deleted that. in the end jagex slaughtered or "nerfed" pking. But i think it even goes beyond nerfing. someone in jagex castle goes "hmm lets just entirely remake the way pvp works without asking anyone what they think! -- do you think anyone will see a difference if we say its for their own good to get rid of those autoers?"

yes, but did you get OUTSIDE with your win? i've pked over 20m but never made it outside a single time. who needs teleblock, the game does it for you.

Yes, leveling skills. And since skills are the foundation of MMORPG, I'm not in any fear that they will be removed. I didn't say that people didn't have a right to be a little upset. My point really was and is twofold: 1 - change is inevitable and the strong learn to adapt 2 - RS has much, much, MUCH more to offer the gamer than killing other gamers (well, their RS characters) and by leveling said skills what are you aiming for? (i'll add examples this time as last time i asked an open ended question it really didn't really get answered because "skills" doesn't count because you HAVE to level skills) for a miner training he is aiming for the ability to mine rune or possibly addy the same goes for a smither, the ability to smith that chest of runite or a crafter, to make glories or full black ranging armor. now, for the vast majority of people training magic or range or any combat skill, it is to be able to best another player in the wilderness (i say wilderness because "skills" aren't used in BH, teams of 1 itemers are) Now, what if ALL the highest level rewards were removed from each skill, would you still train them? i think a mass of people would say no! look at peoples blogs and signatures, they have "player123's blog to 85 mage" or the progress bar in someones signature. they have removed MULTIPLE aspects of the game, (analogy staking) we've seen people post duels with party hat wins... now compair that with 3k and YES its depressing as, most mages use ten times that amount of money in a single stake not even mentioning drag arrows are HOW MUCH each?

I do like how you said "most pures" because if you had said "all pures" i would have become angry as i have never droptraded or any other means of transferring items between accounts in training my pure to 93 range and 96 mage. all i do have to say is that i love the mage training arena and dragon visages (1.3k blackdrags were annoying) :thumbsup:

This is going to affect everything that you do. There is no freedom whatsoever in this game. None. With a 3k limit on trading, everything you do that involves sharing or selling an item to another player will be restricted by nickel-and-dime controls based off of the GE's prices. This game has degraded into a dictatorial shadow of its past. ' Well you're completely wrong. If you can't sell the amulet for the right price, you don't sell it. Yeah it sucks as a restriction but saying there isn't any freedom is completely incorrect. You have a small range to operate in, and most importantly you have the freedom of refusing to sell. This refusing power is huge, and the GE's price will respond to that. how many times have you intentionally bought an item 10x overpriced to get it fast, the fact is, most people sitting in the bank won't pay attention to you if your buying an item for the going price. now take this for example, because in BH you can't return to pick up your items that drop but the other person can't pickup (god book, ghostly, torso, range backpack) lots of people are 1iteming in BH not out of choice, but because thats the most logical in the way they have set it up. now the point ---- i realized the fact that in 5 deaths i was going to run out of climbing boots, everyone has them +2 str is nice for a 10gp item.... who is really going to sell you that item for 10 (or whatever the ridiculously low GE price is) at BH yesterday i saw on five separate occasions people saying " buying climbing boots 15k ea" as that is the only price that caught people's eye. its crazy that jagex is taken the ABILITY to overpay someone for their items. i had a perm woodcutter of magic logs, Very nice girl, always sold me mages for 1k ea every 1k or so i would give her an extra 200k gp for staying loyal to selling to only me did i have to do that? no! come January do i have that option? the option to be nice? NO! the option to be nice has been stripped from me.

in the end, it is in effect, the death to honor pking, i can't pk ANYONE above 100 combat? (my pure's first 5m+ pk (full verac) was off a lvl 113 when he was 73 combat) there is NO way to SOLO anymore, i went in with runecbow and 20 dragfire bolts and found out INSTANTANEOUSLY that it was a 1itemer paradise. luckily i had some barrages with me and got away from the masses of dds's after i learned this fact, my pure and 5 IRL friends pure's went out on off worlds looking for noobs (hey, thats what everyone else was doing too) after 3 world hops it payed off. Low and behold what did we see? a person with a whip, obby set, d boots, med and legs (i do feel really bad he lost his fighter torso also)!! we all instantaneously flip on smite and i flip on mystic might, and barrage him, i dont think he knew what he was doing because 5 barrages of mine took him out solo ( i was with 5 meleers) sense these are all IRL friends i can trust them all not to BS on me, but what happens?! OH NO!!! not the another team, yes 5 lvl 100s tanking with dragfire bolts and rune legs and black dhide chests. needless to say, i got killed WITH range protect on in 2 volleys, why may you ask? i have a counter that says i can't leave for 3 mins, WE DON'T NEED TB ANYMORE, THE GAME AUTOMATICLY DOES IT FOR YOU. the most frustrating part of it is this, inside, you can't trade the loot, you know, SHARE, that way, maybe one of us would have gotten out with 1 or 2 pieces of the armor AND i can't drop it! I seriously don't want these [puncture]s getting my freshly pked drag but what can i do! i have a freaking blue skull over me that accurately translates to a homing beacon for 1itemers. THIS UPDATE IS A MESS. P.S. wtf!? why can't we take monks robes in? i remember pking with monk robes in RSC gosh.

Yeah, only problem is that you can't do boss monsters come January, since of 3k limits, and no splitting it equally between teams. I really can't solo a boss monster. Sorry, but i fail everytime. woah now, you have to be able to take constructive critisisem (sp) he was very respectful ( in my opinion ) when he was talking about the addy helm pk, as not many people consider that kind of pk of any intrest AT ALL i mean, its not like the auto's fight back much? and he did rate it a FREAKING 7 out of 10 which is 4 more than i would have rated it to begin with. you have blown his post WAY out of proportion.

as said before, the term "pure" came from rsc, where: mage, def, pray and hp always got you combat levels so if you were a melee based account you didnt want ANY of those stats to keep your combat super low while being able to hit a high amount. I remember wine pures too(high five if you can post how they did it) this has changed in rs2 as you can get mage to go along with your melee stats and it wont jack your combat up.
