  1. It really depends on what you want to do, and which OS you're doing it from.
  2. No matter how I try, I can never have a problem with Firefox. No matter how many hacks I install.
  3. ^ I would recommend Ubuntu to start with. Very easy for beginners, excellent support and a huge software repository too.
  4. This doesn't affect me at all. Or at least this ad won't until it shows a 4 1/2 year old using regedit and the Eclipse IDE. (Which is SSHing into a server running LAMP) I couldn't care less, and if I did, I would avoid Windows because it's too easy. You can do anything from a CLI if you know what you're doing.
  5. Jim, on prosilver it's both at the top and bottom.
  6. Yeah, it's just they're not reading this thread because they think it's full of spam by now. Not a bad guess, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how many people have been able to hold themselves. And your *nix knowledge doesn't matter, just as long as you are willing to learn. :P
  7. Indeed you can. I would personally go with the sandisk Sansa Clip, or then Sandisk's higher-end mp3 players. It's worth checking out.
  8. Firefox does not share plugins with IE, as they use a different plugins system. You have cookies either turned off or disabled for Tip.it. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:7 Second addon on that page. Do you know it's safe? 1. Faster 2. Safer (Remember those computers hijacked by IE just a month or two ago? There was an announcement on Tip.it, it was so big) 3. Completely free (You can't get IE without buying Windows) 4. Cross platform 5. More extensible 6. Renders HTML and CSS better than IE (Web pages display correctly- Sometimes they display so much better in FF than IE you wonder what the developers were thinking.)
  9. Andiris Perera Dharmagunawardhana, Fernando Fernández de Córdova, Carl Friedrich Heinrich Credner and Count Friedrich Ferdinand von Beust all turn 200 this year?! Wow, I'm their biggest fans!
  10. My friends and I are having a party :D We're going to play "Survival of the fittest".
  11. That's why you learn to keep your fantasies to yourself and not invade other people's personal space. ;)
  12. ^ I've been interested in trying out OpenSolaris as well as PC-BSD, Plan 9 and Darwin. They look pretty FTW. I'm wondering, is there anyone here interested in creating a TIF Linux User Group? (LUG)
  13. Your musical compatibility with SqueezinJam is LOW Music you have in common includes Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Beatles. I doubt there's anyone whose music compatibility with me is high or very high. http://last.fm/user/dsavi

Lionheart, you have the best curly hair ever.
  16. Linux. Ubuntu studio Hardy and Intrepid, and Ubuntu Hardy. (I'm going to upgrade or reinstall to Jaunty when it comes out, can't wait ) Hopefully going to try out Fedora or Debian today or later this week, currently seeding them because it's the least I can do.
  17. Fixed: Never needed one, I have. Move the predicate to the end of the sentence and separate it with a comma.
  18. You get a zero on your report for plagiarizing, that's copypasta from Wikipedia. 3
  19. :| Wohoo for singles awareness day. I've celebrated it for a long time.
  20. That's a good point. I'll PM Dsavi_X4, and ask him to change it later. True, now that I think of that. I'll take it out. It also makes the form less confusing. I'll take the time now and update the first post while I'm at it.
  21. Hadn't really seen G-G before...
  22. Well, I would say that I live near Eero Saarinen (Guy who designed a lot of famous buildings in America, including the St. Louis arch) but he's long dead.
