  1. You're going to encounter a problem if that's your way of thinking. Making easy stuff will never make you get better. You have to try hard or new stuff even if it means to fail horribly in order to get better. Pixels are not meant for impatient people, so if your attention span is like 1 hour, I'd suggest you take a look at another form of art. Things you have to learn in order are: -Sketching (that includes basic knowledge of anatomy, perspective and other stuff) -Shading (knowing how to use values (dark-light) to suggest 3D shapes) -Coloring (knowing which colors blend well together, etc..) Just look around for tutorials, there's plenty. Good luck, I'll be looking forward to your next pixel.
  2. It's fairly easy to find renders that are free for use. And anyways I don't think the original owners of copyrighted material go to great lengths to protect it. It might even act as free advertisement.
  3. Flowers.. so original ;) Yeah they look alright to me but I don't know anything about photography so I'm not really a reference. Maybe try playing a bit more with the picture afterwards, and find more interesting stuff.

    A Pixel

Don't ask. This is just a popular belief that's hard to break. I'm sick of those people who use MS paint as a pretext to make them look good to people who don't really know about it... although that is not the case here ;) I think it's pretty good, definitely above the average quality of runescape related pixels. There's a perspective problem with the far cliff, the wall is at a too flat angle to the viewer, should be slanted inwards so it gives more depth impression (hope that makes sense). Also try to vary the contrast a bit more. Good job.
  5. Even if I didn't know this was made by castelum I would've guessed he ripped it by reading what he said
  6. Rabbids are awesome 8-) Not my creation, check Rayman: Raving Rabbids.
  7. Total maybe 1 1/2 years if you count pixels. (More seriously I mean, I've drawed for my whole life)
  8. Yes. Did a couple of cars and scenery, animals too. But I draw people mostly. These are the only examples I could find atm though. Was brainstorming for a collab with someone and did those speedpaints. [hide=Pic 1][/hide] [hide=Pic 2][/hide]
  9. Because they aren't :P I try to not erase too much and I leave some things as they are so I can look back and see what I'm having trouble with.
  10. I'm the kind of person who doesn't like people to see my sketchbook, don't really know why. Anyways, haven't posted a painting or anything in a while so I've just scanned 2 random pages (could've scanned 50 but I'm too lazeh 8-) ). Used a HB pencil and my finger, no refs as far as I can remember. So do you guys want me to upload more or not?
  11. Actually that way would not get you even near millions. I think it's best for me to not talk about it since it is considered as bug abuse though technically there's no bug exploited. Just a loophole. Rest assured that it will get fixed very soon. Apart from a few bugs and glitches, I enjoy this minigame. However it is definitely not a game for skillers and pkers. First of all, no xp is given to skills. Also, as said above, high levels are self sufficients and don't need low level skillers to help them. And the rewards are very bad. Though the melee set is same as rune and it's easily obtainable in a game or 2.
  12. Don't use Gimp for pixeling. Period. Graphics Gale is a good free program for pixels though, has layers too.
  13. The highlight is too displaced to the right. Makes me think of a cone more than a sphere
  14. Anything. Since you've just got it it will take some time before you get used to it. Draw simple stuff until you get the hang of it.
  15. Nah I used a built-in script. Just tweaked some settings. And yes I use Gimp. But that's irrelevant anyways. I take it you will keep working in Ms paint, yes? Because if you do, you will never get a result like that, but you should try to get as close as possible to it.
  16. Definitely an improvement, but that's not quite how spheres look when shaded. Here's a basic one you can get by 2-3 clicks. Not the best but it should give you an idea.
  17. The blue tint of the windows makes it really confusing to me. Windows aren't blue, they're transparent. You got that right with the front one, but the others make it difficult for me to find depth within the truck. Try leaving them transparent or slightly tinted and use light glares to show theres a window there.
  18. That's actually something to avoid. Pixelling is all about using only the colors you really need. And anyways if you want soft shading and smooth gradients, why are you wasting your time doing it pixel by pixel?
  19. Cool. I'd like to see it without the black outlines though. Might look better.
  20. The hands are pretty good. The faces are interesting, but a bit distorted anatomy wise. I kinda like the first one though.
  21. When you shade you've got to pick a light source and stick to it. If you take a cube, the face directly exposed to the sun will be bright, while the face on the other side will be dark because no light is hitting it. Also, try using less saturated colors (more gray in them) and try using more contrast (make your darkest dark and your lightest light more extreme)
  22. About time someone figures it out :P
  23. Edited a bit. Not much though.
  24. Might edit the forest later. It was really rushed
  25. I agree with most of what has been said, and I also think the dragons legs are quite skinny. Pretty good overall though.
