Built a new computer, PCi slots dont fit correctly.
Torlen replied to Torlen's topic in Tech and Computers
Well the motherboard isnt actually touching the metal part of the case, its still raised slightly off it. Everything in the back of the case lines up perfectly. All of the USB's and VGA's and all that line up perfectly. You think Im ok? Or should I go buy the spacers just to be safe? -

So turns out I didn't get the spacers sent with the mobo when it came in the mail. This being my first build job, I didnt even know they existed. I dd think it was strange to just place the mobo on the case though. Im going to Microcenter to buy the spacers in the morning. Could not using those have caused any serious damage to the mobo? Also, even without the spacers my mobo fits into the back holes almost perfectly. The only thing that dont fit are the cards. Im just going to use my older computer until I get the spacers tomorrow. -

Once I get home tonight I will, right now the best description i can give is that it PCI cards dont physically fit, even though the motherboard is in correctly. -
So I just built a new computer. The motherboard is in correctly, because it fits all of the open spots in the back of the casing perfectly. The problem is, I cant fit anything into the PCI slots. It seems like the cards I try to install only go halfway into the slot, then the little metal hook that screws the card in hits and I cant push the card in all of the way. Is the only solution to mangle the back of my case to make it fit properly? I cant move the motherboard any higher either, because then It wouldnt fit any of the pre-cut slots and I would have to cut it up then, too. Thanks for helping.

Rune Mining/Smithing No Longer Profitable?
Torlen replied to mainiac2k3's topic in General Discussion
I never made much money with 99 smithing to begin with. I did notice that rune mining got tough though. -
Its never actually saved me from death, I always get teled out when I still have enough food.
-
I used to wear a rune long without a shield in rsc because it looked like an r2h, which i was too poor to own at the time :P
-
Send me a message in game if you wanna try the smithing emote.

Skillers, Your Thoughts? [Detailed Answers Please?]
Torlen replied to Iskill_Logs's topic in General Discussion
Do you like skillers, why or why not? I'm neutral, wont say anymore. Why do skillers take so much abuse? I dont abuse them, but I'm also comfotable with the fact that combat isnt everything. I think thats why people dislike them, though. It does seem like kind of a waste, though. If your goal is high skill total, why wouldnt you want the extra 693 skill points? Plus, the only skill that is really any harder to train is slayer. I have respect for skillers with high slayer, but otherwise, it isn't any harder to train any other skills. To each his own I suppose. Have you ever run into a skiller, then a few hours later, thought about making one? No, I prefer all my xp on one account. Do you own a skiller? I have a few level 3's, but none of the have any skills they didnt get on tutorial island :P Mostly when I think of a good name. In the future, do you want to make a skiller? why or why not? No, sorry. I just dont see the point I guess. -
I have .5 black marks for asking Mod Hulme if he know where my pants were :wall:

You click on monsters to train, click on food while you are eating, click on the pile after they are dead... where's the skill in that? I'm yet to meet a muted skiller, all of them have been pkers... maybe they are the rude and arrogant ones? Ive never been in a fight with someone (mostly me running while rcing/clues/mining rune) without some sort of insult throw my way. And for what? Ive never been sworn out by someone while fishing/cooking/smithing/mining etc... Personally I think it requires a certain mindset to become an accomplished pker (which I'm not by any means, terrible myself). It requires the mindset of a pre-pubescent kid who gets (or got) picked on alot at school so he comes on Runescape to vent and show everyone what a badass he really is  If you don't like skillers, don't talk to us, you'll probably end up muted like so many others. I also realize that I've made a lot of assumptions in my little rant. If I offended anyone I'm sorry, even if you are one of the people I'm describing (and most of you probably are).

I got this a few times in the past few days and I thought my computer was somehow infected. Never clicked it, I always used task manger to shut it down. its actually kinda comforting to know that there isn't anything on my computer and it was just a popup through the site.

Do you ever use the"Self Sufficient" methods??
Torlen replied to roanlo's topic in General Discussion
I think quite a few people are lying in this post :-w I'm very, very rarely self sufficient. Its not worth it. When I raise a skill, I want to click as few times as possible. I dont want to spend 3 hours collecting items for no experience, when I could just buy the item and go straight to leveling up. -
RuneScape's Reputation - What Is It Like For You?
Torlen replied to Skully's topic in General Discussion
I told people in my high school that I played (graduated 3 years ago). Some people thought it was nerdy, but its just high school. After you graduate youll hardly see any of them ever again anyways. Ive been going to college since I graduated, people are more accepting here. I even got a few guys who work in our schools IT to play it. If you are worried that your friends wont like you because you play RS you should really consider whether or not they really are a friend. -
Everyone needs to get over the old school nostalgia. People were just as rude then as they are now. You cant expect a company to be against expansion in favor of community, and its dumb to ask them to do that. You just have to roll with the punches. Not only that, but the quality of updates has vastly improved since I started in '02. Something that would not have been possible pre-miniclip.

Either the item will stay in your bank or a deposit on the total amount of money the item is worth will be made. I really hope Jagex has learned by now that people like you would abuse something like that.

I know people are sick of the WoW comparisons, but its only a selling side there and it works just fine. Prices on everything are basically constant.

I have 2, this one and my other account Torlena who is a pure. Shes got a scythe, I log onto her maybe once every 4-5 months but shes hasnt been properly trained in ages.
-
No offense, because it's eluded me so far, but its because your 99 is fletching. I get plenty of respect for my 99 smithing cape. Its just dependant on the hardness of the skill.

I registered when scape was around, then re-registered after scape went away. Im not sure exactly how long ago it was. Maybe sometime in 03?
-
No, 2 x 1g sticks.
-
It sounds like 1 long, 3 short, then 1 long again, and 3 short. Ive installed RAM before, and if I put my old stick back in everything works just fine. The problem is that my computer takes pc3200 ddr and non-ecc, which is exactly what these 2 1g sticks are. Is it possible that both sticks are bad?
-
Heres the problem, I ran the Crucial scan to tell me how and what type of ram my computer needed. It told me that my computer, a Dell Dimension B110, needed ddr pc3200 and I could support 2x1g. I bought the 2x1g, and when I install them, my computer just beeps at me when I try to turn it on. Whats going on? The ram I got was pc3200 ddr dimm.

You cant just look at how much xp you get, you have to take into consideration how long it too, too. Its like saying, ya, i gained 3 million xp there, without mentioning it took your 6 months. That and the drops suck. Im 91 slayer and I never do them.
