  1. Not saying this incident was a good thing, but this could actually turn out as a lesson for many Americans. Maybe if they get generalised as terrorists they might see how it's wrong to generalise others as terrorists.
  2. People throw around the word 'ruined' too much. The Dangerous FFA was designed to be (shock horror) dangerous, as in you didn't get your items back, as it was in the Wildy Years. It wasn't ruined, it was fixed. EDIT: This might also make MSSW4 a bit more interesting...
  3. Agreed. I know! How about putting them in the pvp worlds, but making the duel arena a safe area?
  4. Could you explain that a bit more?

This looks like a multi-site event gone sour. *claps twice* Mods!
  6. You do realise that there is probably an equal, if not greater, number of people who are allergic to cows milk. And what this mysterious bone... stuff? Calcium deficiency? If you're talking about that, there's probably an equal amount of calcium in human milk as cows milk. EDIT: Although I still agree that PETA aren't the ripest bananas in the fruitbowl.
  7. Sentience should not be artificially created. There's also the cultural shock to think about. A much more massive version of when Spaniards came across Aztecs centuries ago. Depending on technology levels of course, we may end up the Aztecs. I agree, sentience should not be artificially created, but what if it happened anyway? What if it was the result of an accident?
  8. She actually lives in Wales. Good work. That made my day.
  9. Loads of people I know hate it, but my favourite types of crisps are: *opens curtains* Picked Onion Monster Munch, if I'm on my own, or Walkers Salt and Vinegar if I'm with mates.
  10. No, they can't be sued by the credit card companies, but they can be denied service. And they have every right to block a company through which criminal activities are taking place.
  11. Oh, then absolutely no way. The economy would implode again, and the work you do in the game is devalued because you could have just paid for it.
  12. The problem lies not with meat eaters, but the people who inhumanely treat animals. Eating meat is a perfectly natural thing to do, as is choosing not to.
  13. Asimov's books (I, Robot being one of them) are about exploring the flaws of the 3 laws of robotics and the idea of absolute slavery, as many of the books have shown, they aren't a good idea. Sentient beings should not be enslaved by humans, even if we create them.
  14. It doesn't say anywhere that this practice is against the rules, luring is completely different to this. This is just part of the danger of DKs. Don't bring anything in there that you're not prepared to lose.
  15. They could equally act the same way as us, and we would end up guaranteeing a war which may have been unnecessary. Remember, we would also be the aliens from their point of view. I suggest a compromise. Send an ambassador for Mankind, and should that go well, agree with basic (but not entirely trusting) interaction such as basic trade. Then, if no problems arise, offer an alliance. Should that process no go as planned, retreat and break contact. Should they become aggressive, again, retreat and break contact.
  16. The hell are you talking about ? :? +1 what the hell ARE you talking about? What the hell are YOU guys talking about? I purposely wrote it in tip.it ish, not English, so you guys could understand. so much for that plan... *Waves to taxi* [/hide] you still make absolutly no sence and btw the meteor is predicted for 2022 and by then some sucidal maniac will get the neves to crash a rocket into it so were good You're not helping. Onuasdad, I think you're confusing us with the RSOF, they'll probably understand you better there.
  17. *shrug* They don't have to rush, the more time they get to work on the quest, the better it'll be (or the more annoyed we'll be if it isn't up to scratch). I sincerely hope they don't make quests just to get a nice round number quickly so they can put out a huge quest.
  18. Ya, if it did happen a lot of people (Including me) would have to rethink the foundational theory of the soul, and then work up again. Don't worry yet though, we don't even know yet if it's possible, let alone actually do it. EDIT: Hang on, can't we already make souls via a little know method called reproduction?
  19. Yeah, you're going on a runaway. If we were to make a sentient robot then intentionally destroy it's sentience, than that would be wrong. But, if it were never sentient, than that would be fine.
  20. if I dont see any of that money, I am going to sue him for false advertising and misrepresenting me. Surely you could not only sue him for your portion, but also demand interest?
  21. 1. Earwigs. :-X 2. Public speaking/humiliation. Usually they're the same thing. :| 3. Suffocation.
  22. Hmm, good point. I'll have to rethink. I'll retract everything I said about sentient robots and start again. Maybe said sentient robot must be treated in the same manner as if the creator had a child? After all, a child is merely the creation of two humans. The creator should be given the status of guardian over the robot, and should be responsible for it's education and upkeep. Depending on the rate at which this robot learns, at some point it should be independent. I still maintain that a free robot should be considered as a person, and should be allowed to do anything a human could legally do. If the creator died before the robot has matured, then it must be put under the care of someone else, under the same process of an orphaned child. Sentient robots should never be traded as a commodity. As for self-replication, they should be allowed to, but at a limited rate so they do not consume resources which could otherwise be put to better use for the population of robots and humans. Should a robot invent something which could be of use to humans, and yet keep it from us, so be it. To be frank, humans should be fixing their own problems.
  23. I think its only very rare cases where somebody is locked up, most of the time people who are given ASBO's are just slapped on the wrists, told never to do it again and are not "allowed" to go near a certain place etc. And most are given to teenagers who see it as more of a trophy than anything else. There pointless really. They are seen as 'badges of honour' amongst a lot of youth groups, especially chavs, but they do serve as a way to deal harsher penalties to yobs who deserve it.
  24. True, I think Jagex is trying to make up for decent AI in this case, but now we're starting to lose the whole 'Revanants are supposed to replace PKers' idea. People attack monsters in single combat to do this and they should have every right to do it now. Bah humbug.
  25. What would be the point of doing the same with run? :-s
