I know this thread is being made by a troll, but I've seen a fair few troll threads into meaningful ones, so I'll try to contribute. Ever since Love Story, the location of your house doesn't really matter much if you've got the highly recommended set of 6 portals, a mounted glory and a stack of tablets sitting in your bank. I'd say the fact that Yanille is easy to reach is a good reason to park your house there, if your friends want to go in your house, they can access it quickly. Of course, there's going to be some less common situations where it might be better to park it somewhere else: If you plan to train Slayer for a bit but can't use slayer rings or chipped tablets yet, park it in Pollnivneach or Canifis (depending on where you find yourself going most often). If you use your house to recharge Summoning and Prayer when you're doing Frost Dragons, park it in Rimmington. Just to play it safe though, I think Yanille probably has the most benefits of all of the locations.

I only get stressed if I don't talk to people about what I have to do and keep it bottled up. Talking to other people motivates me. If I'm not working in the company of someone else, I put on music on speakers, which is a fairly good substitute.

A huge thing that defines the American right-wing viewpoint is the idea that the federal government should not gain too much power, influence, or control over individuals. I don't think that most of the Republican objections are about the bill not being economically advantageous or any such thing. The opposition is to the idea of the bill. It is "un-American". Republicans in America fight to keep our country Capitalist in every way possible. The healthcare reform is too socialist for them. Thanks for the answer. Castle Wars Professional Cape falls into this category. (reinstated over and over again, I know) Had there not been one, the requirement for Castle Wars games would be far less. Yeah, I realise that, but the Castle Wars Professional Cape is itself arbitrary. It has no value beyond itself. You can't do anything with it apart from wear it, and it doesn't give you or tell you anything if you do. Ugh, it's not like they're going to change it now, I don't know why I'm arguing. They just shouldn't have made the Castle Wars Professional Cape in the first place.

The problem with slavery is that it allows one person to harm another, and laws are in place to prevent people from harming others. Therefore, under a state of law, slavery should be illegal. No need for morality here. If we're trying to build a civilisation to improve the wellbeing of the people, taking the slavery approach negates the point of the whole thing.

Ugh, I keep on looking at the trimmed cape requirements and thinking that if that 5000 Castle Wars games requirement wasn't there, then I'd consider that as an ultimate goal to look forward to. It's such an arbitrary thing, not even part of the original rewards, that it's just very uncomfortable and feels wrong. Pretty much everything else actually gives you something, an ability or a chunk of lore, or a sense of progress in the game, but the Castle Wars requirement doesn't.

To be fair, I did just do a dungeon where the keyer lost his connection and we had to regroup, followed by a difficult and annoying one.

OR how about people read the guidelines carefully enough to see the part that says you will be quizzed? It's not necessarily in our interest to make it easier to pass the extremely simple test of reading an entire post- if an applicant's attention span is too short for that task, we have reason to be extremely dubious of their ability to learn to dungeoneer. We aren't looking to accept every idiot into the chat- we need thick skinned players who want to always be improving at dungeoneering by way of listening to what people tell them. If the first thing they're told is read the guidelines and they FAIL... that's not a good sign. This kind of filtering has become much more important since we show up near the top of the clan high scores, so if we don't want to start imposing dungeoneering level limits, we NEED a quick way to weed out the idiots, and this is it. I'm sorry that your friend was hit by our filter, but the solution to that is to improve your friend rather than relax our filters. I appreciate that there does need to be some kind of filter to make sure people have read the guidelines, but that's not the issue. The 'Weekly Trivia' does not look like it's part of the guidelines at all, it looks like it's something put there for fun. How about we do both, I'll ask my friend to read that 'Trivia', and we change that name. I think we've seriously lost our perspective of what newcomers experience, and that's going to damage the clan.

Can I suggest one thing? Change the name of 'Weekly Trivia' to something that doesn't make the last part seem so... trivial, like 'Final Notes'. The word 'Trivia' does mean a piece of information which is of little value, after all. That's completely at odds with what is actually in that hide tag. I've had my rant on the cc, I just want to clear it up now.

There are such laws, and I'd personally like an investigation into some of the practices of both campaigns. However, I believe that the "AV promotes tactical voting" and "AV increases the chances of coalition governments" arguments are valid ones. And you can't go around comparing completely different countries and political systems, that's silly, especially when you can only use three countries as your data points for AV, and Australia has compulsory voting, so that's going to be a dodgy data point in itself. In our approximately two-and-a-half party system, the Lib Dems would benefit from AV, and logically it would increase the chance of coalition governments. You tell me that AV wouldn't help the Lib Dems. Seriously. The arguments I'd like to see investigated are the strangely precise values for the cost of introducing AV to a UK election. I know it's more expensive, but I can't imagine how you could calculate it. As Ginger said, it's really down to the Lib Dems for making the Referendum coincide with the Local Elections, and therefore more subject to party political influences. I suspect that the Lib Dems felt that doing so would be the only way to realistically get a 'YES' result, on the off chance that they might have done well in coalition and might have still been as popular as they were back in the General Election. These things potentially swing both ways.

Danq, I know you're a better person than this. It's fine to have a valid opinion on the matter, but it's another thing to start complaining about the results of a public vote on it. Perhaps the YES campaign didn't put forward the right arguments, perhaps the public have a much better appetite for PR, but the fact of the matter is that the public voted against AV. Much more needed to be done to convince them to support AV, and that wasn't done. End of story.

It might be better to invest your time in Void range and a Deflector, then spend that spare money on something else, perhaps an Armadyl Chestplate. The Unholy Book is overpriced and just simply isn't that useful, and the others are just decorative.

I'm not going to get into debates about Conservative policy (maybe a different thread?), this isn't a thread about that, and besides you've made a fine coalition partner. That said, the furthest-right wing of the Conservatives are, let's say 'lukewarm', towards his moderate stance, he's still the guy who brought the Tories into power and kept the party stable. They still feel very indebted, and therefore loyal to him. Finally, I have to say that I don't really like how the NO campaign criticised Nick Clegg or portrayed him. It struck me that they were jumping on the bandwagon a bit, and it just seemed unnecessary, they could have won the referendum without dealing as much damage to the Coalition. The Conservatives do need to remember that without the Lib Dems, they aren't in the majority at Westminster.
