Should the Uber Cape include:
I like how Jagex has listened to the players here. Champion's Challenge is probably too much. It'll end up eliminating a huge number of candidates that still deserve recognition for their achievement in the game. If you want to act all high and mighty with your completionist cape and Champion's Challenge completion, just summon a banner imp. I'm also glad that they've dropped the 'uber' title. The name didn't fit the Runescape style at all.

Yawning
I'm pretty proficient at suppressing yawns (a valuable skill, I know), but the video did make me fight it. I know yawning's got something to do with getting extra oxygen to the brain in times of inactivity, such as when you're tired or bored, but why are they contagious?

04-Apr-2011- Livid Farm
This concept has been in the game since the quest point cape. Nothing new, really. Not that I agree with it, per se, but I'm pretty sure we all knew what we were buying into when trying to unlock the questcape/taskmaster. It's one thing to lose your cape/emote to a bigger update like a full quest or an achievement diary set, but it's really another to lose it to an extra niggling task that was thrown in for the hell of it. Especially when the tasks are not hard (new Lumbridge tasks) or are just grindy (this Livid thing). On the other hand, there's a case for making sure that the Tasks aren't outdated. The point of them is to encourage people to try out different things in the area that they normally might not. Now you taskmasters can suffer like us questers! MWAHAHAHAHAhurk... *cough* *cough*

I also have "huge links".. My family is just as old as theirs. Really a right by birth something outdated and should be against human rights.. As every human born in this world should have the same chances to become someone great. What they should celebrate is those people who have brought something great against the odds. Not someone who has done nothing other than wasting money. So let's tear down museums because they don't do anything other than waste money then. I mean, who cares about history? [/sarcasm] The royal family are living relics of the cultural history and traditions of Britain, and they are ambassadors for this country. As such, it is a tradition to celebrate weddings, anniversaries and coronations, and mourn funerals. It's what we do and you should respect or at least be indifferent to our traditions. I don't see anyone criticising Thanksgiving here.

Livid farm: Awesome! Vengeance group sounds fun, I hope you can use it in Daemonheim. Clan Camp: The actual camp seems a bit pointless, and it's going to make the map even more cramped, but the general idea of formally supporting clans is great. I would prefer if they made construction and POH's an integral part of member's clans, but you can't have everything. Items Kept on Death Changes: I'm guessing this is about stopping people dropping four dragon longswords in the Wilderness, although I'm not sure what's the point of giving us the choice of what we lose outside the Wilderness. Why not save development time and make the death mechanic inside and outside the wilderness identical?

Should there be deposit boxes in some (if not all) resource dungeons?
Oh god, frost dragons. Not good. I think the resource dungeons are fine as they are, really. Placing deposit boxes or banks near resources should be treated with extreme caution.

Article about murder & mutilation by US troops
Condemning this is pretty obvious, but I don't know how it can be stopped. When you put people in a position of power over others, and no likely or real threat of punishment for abuse, abuse happens to a brutal level. The only solution I can imagine is not giving soldiers the task of interacting with civilians who are mixed with a few hostile militants. It's no wonder we're still in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thieving was used in the Quest aswell... sure it was, you were "captured". However that really, really is a thin line to incorporate a skill into a quest. - The quest is mainly about the creation of barrelchest armours - and hence the focus should be about smithing, crafting etc. I don't think it would make much sense if you could escape from imprisonment in a locked room with no knowledge of how to pick a lock. Admittedly, that must have been a pretty tough lock if it was level 74, but the point still stands. It's not a particularly hard skill to train anyway. I've always thought that Quests were the best part of the game. It's a pity that I've done them all. MOAR QUESTS PL0X

Limewire sued for $75 Trillion
Oh god, now you've done it. You had to post that picture. The rest of this thread is inevitable. I'll skip to the end and say that the music industry is a corrupt and shameless business to be in that is trying to get as much money as possible out of everyone instead of reforming itself so we no longer have to have these arguments. There, done. Or at least, I'm done, someone else can play the role and get into a piracy debate.

Just finished it, here's hoping Baron von Hattenkrapper is a recurring character. I love Jagex's weird sense of humour.

It's a tossup whether you want the 7 stab or the 4 strength between the brackish/korasi, but I'd lean towards strength. For most everything, 4 str is better, and never forget that the korasi sword has a great spec. It also doesn't matter alot as both weapons require as much questing as a rapier would, thus rendering both useless for training purposes. Is there data somewhere that says +str is better than +atk (eg. data of berserker ring vs warriors ring or something similiar)? There is, but I don't know who keeps it. In any case, it's not quite that simple. Attack increases the chance of you hitting, strength increases the magnitude of what you hit. Basically, if you're dealing with a high defence monster like a boss, the priority when increasing damage per second is getting attack up and hitting more often. If you're dealing with low defence monsters, like on slayer tasks, attack's benefit has diminishing returns. You can only increase your probability of hitting so much before it stops making much of a difference. To contrast, strength's benefit is pretty linear. You hit higher, you deal more damage over time. That said, in most situations, adding +1 to your strength stat will increase your damage per second more than adding +1 to your attack stat. EDIT: God I sound like a World of Warcraft player.

Let's see how far a Squ'irk Juice and a mature Dwarven Stout take me. I'm pretty sure the combination alone will contribute to the many headaches my character has to suffer in this quest...

Quick question, is thieving and smithing boostable?
-

Oh god, I'm 2 thieving levels and 3 smithing levels short. I really hope it's boostable. It probably isn't...

Jagex will scam you
Same. I'm fed up with all of the troll threads. Let's get some topics with some discussion value going instead.

Jagex will scam you
But then you'd have a build-up of credit, and be paying for more credit when you don't need it. Now that would be a scam. If you're being sarcastic, I apologise. Anything other than what Jagex is doing right now would not constitute "$5 a month" and they would be liable for false advertising. This strikes me as picking a fight with Jagex when there is none. As in 31 days per each payment. If you're paying by credit card, it adds 31 days each payment. There would be no build up. 31 days is up and it adds another 31 But then you'd be paying per 31 days, not per month. Please, use your head.

Libya Uprising thread
Alright, I was just getting really worried that people were starting to give up morality itself or something, which I really wanted to kill from the start. Sorry if I was a bit passive-aggressive there. As far as politics goes, there's a balance to be had. Democratic governments get away with being complicit in a lot of quite immoral and self-centred things (read '[insert country here]'s interests'), but whenever they are, they live in constant fear of being found out and being judged according to how well their opinions correlate with that of the common man. If they don't, they lose their jobs. You can look at that in a half-full glass or half-empty glass way, but either way immoral things come to the spotlight and need to be stopped by the elected government as an expression of the morality of the common man of that country. Otherwise, they lose their jobs. This is such an occasion.

Libya Uprising thread
fixed. Genocide and authoritarianism in other countries is ok, as long as it doesn't affect US interests. ... you're being sarcastic, right? No; it makes sense and most likely the truth anyhow. "Do I have something to gain in this situation: yes / no " To tackle a situation of because of it's complete amorality by using an completely amoral method is hypocrisy. Or is hypocrisy acceptable too? Shall we just not bother then? Acceptable by who? Anyone in the world. I don't think it's acceptable, what about you?

I don't understand. You're telling us how months work, and how Jagex sticks to that, and yet you're calling it a scam? Also, tell your friend "Average" Joe that they need to go back to school. A month is not defined as 30 days, it is one of the twelve arbitrary divisions in the calendar, which are not all the same size.
