Is America a greedy country?
You do know that nearly the entirety of American news media is left wing right? The only right-wing media I can think of is Fox and the only true impartial one is the WSJ. Literally everything else is left. Mhm. So where's the party/parties to match?

Is America a greedy country?
The fact of the matter is that America doesn't really do a good job at representing people on the left-wing of politics, and to say that two parties and some token Independents are enough to resolve the opinions of the population is pretty insulting to Americans. You need to have more parties to satisfy the people who think that the Democrats are too right wing, or the people who simply want to protest and demand democratic reform. Maybe people who would like a party that takes the best of the Democrat policies and the best of the Republican policies. Or a Green party, or a Socialist party, or a Communist party, or a Christian party, or a Monster Raving Loony Party (I love these guys). These things are necessary in a democracy. You need to get closer to asking everybody what they think, not whether they support Team A or Team B.

ROW is still junk for pvm
The 300K I made from selling a 500 noted Big Bones drop from a black demon task says otherwise.

Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
Then was it a lack of understanding of what Smithing needed? Because clearly they didn't deliver. Exactly. All the money in the world on its own can't buy you an insight into what the players are saying. Only having a look at what the players are saying will get you that. I hope it's successful. Successful and thriving. More money for Jagex from non-RS Subscription = more money put into RS and new Transformers game. Also from this subscription fee might lower back down to 5 USD per month. I really cant see the subscription fee going down. <_< Well, in real terms it has, because of inflation. And so many successful ones? What about the fantastic and well planned Dungeoneering improvements? There's a balance to be had here, and it's pretty positive overall. Jagex did make a successful MMO out of Java, if that's a hint.

Libya Uprising thread
I think my biggest concern is how many years of arms deals we, the UK, as well as others countries have made with Libya in the past. We'll could end up fighting, yet again, an army that's using weapons that we supplied. The worst thing that the Coalition (the 5 nation one, not the government) could do right now is directly supply arms to the rebels. If they end up forming an oppressive or extremist government because of the power vacuum, the cycle will only continue.

Libya Uprising thread
You don't know what you're talking about. To be honest, I'm a little disappointed that other countries did not take up Cameron's initiative sooner. I think the UN still functions far too slowly. Far more lives could have been saved if action was taken at least a few days sooner.

[DevBlog] Evolution of Clans
Again, Jagex didn't write it. It's a republication from the Tip.It Clan Chronicle. Does nobody read anything nowadays? Is that the cool thing to do now?

[DevBlog] Evolution of Clans
It's always satisfying to see something on the Runescape page that recognises that Jagex makes mistakes sometimes. Similarly, it's satisfying to see something here that recognises that Jagex gets things right sometimes. Putting this article in the DevBlog was one of them.

[dev blog] Capes of Distinction
Pretty sure it's old news, I think they said it shortly after revealing Dungeoneering.

[dev blog] Capes of Distinction
That sounds reasonable. Fits in with the style of the game, whereas "uber cape" really doesn't. I guess that means I'll have a veteran cape, I'm pretty sure I've got 5 years under my belt. Nice.

Game Update FAQ - 15/03/11
Actually, there are very few rings worth using in RS. Seers, Berserker, Archer, Explorer(for farming tele) and ferocious. Not counting (i) rings. What are you talking about? There are very few rings in the game that aren't useful. There's the Ring of Devotion, which gives some useful defensive stats across the board for f2pers, Ring of Dueling, a staple of Summoning training and Nature runecrafting, Ring of Kinship, which has all the funky customisable options in dungeoneering, Ring of Charos, for cheaper ship chartering, Ring of Slayer for the really convenient teleports to slayer dungeons... Do I need to go on? Pretty sure the main focus is about rings that are useful in combat. Doesn't look like it to me, since the guy mentioned that the Explorer's ring is good for the farming tele.

[dev blog] Capes of Distinction
1work 2your 3back 4through 5(Redundant part of sentence) Mhm mhm. Internet slang has no relevance to coherence of meaning, given that we are using an online medium and everybody reading this will know basic internet slang or have a firm enough graspe of it to figure out what such basic contractions mean. Equally sure a word may be redundant and extra but it doesn't mean it somehow effects the meaning of the sentence. We might all know it, but we don't use internet slang here when it's not necessary, it makes posts much more difficult to read. It's like knowing about the stupid things people often do, but that doesn't justify acting stupid. Redundant phrasing, by definition, doesn't affect the meaning of a sentence, but it reduces coherence, which again makes it more difficult to read.

Awards
I imagine the best candidates for awards are the ones that represent contribution to Tip.It, not Runescape. That means submitting guides, participating in events, perhaps some community awards by public/moderator vote, things like that. I personally think that the best place to put your Runescape achievements is in your signature, like my little Quest icon. It's a great idea though!

1work 2your 3back 4through 5(Redundant part of sentence) Mhm mhm. I hope they don't have much in the way of offensive stats, although they can go wild with the uber cape, since it requires you to have a fire cape anyway.

Mmm... uber cape... All in all, a good idea, fits my playing style nicely. I often have 'min stat' goals, but because of my nooby Herblore level I'll only have 60+, oh well. I'm not sure what's the point of some of the lower 'capes of 10s' though, I think only min stats higher than 50/60 or so are worth giving a cape for. Kudos to Jagex for giving us the initial thoughts on the idea before the design work starts. Keep it up and do that for more content, please!

End of an Era... probably...
So what? I don't care, and neither do the vast majority of people here.

15-Mar-2011 - Ring of Wealth, Shanties, Trolls and Dungeoneering
May I ask how? RoW now works with boss drops so in theory, more drops = lower price. Though it all depends, because more drops = more profit so we'll have to see. Shouldn't it, in theory, balance out? I know it won't, but the change shouldn't be too drastic.

Wilderness agility
I'm with CrustyGoblinFoot here. Copy-pasting the ever present 'It's the Wilderness, people will try to PK you' amounts to spam, and it's certainly not helpful or constructive to any discussion. What we're dealing with here is the rationalisation of certain individuals who prioritise very little to no benefit to them over the enjoyment of others, the PKer equivalent to a forum troll. As such, I sympathise with the OP. Heck, I've been PKed while hunting penguins, and telling the PKers so, when I clearly didn't have anything at all on me. It's unhelpful and annoying, and I wish people would stop wasting their time inconveniencing people for no reason. Sy_Accursed, I've had enough of you. You're a troll, and I think you're part of the reason for the bad atmosphere around these forums. There, I said it.

Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
Oh, that's nice dear. Want to wish any more undeserved failure on people trying to go about their business? I see that you two are making quite good progress on your spitefulness, keep up the good work. [serious] People, if you think this is going to impact Runescape in any way, you need to look up on how Jagex is structured first. The teams that work on the individual projects do not use the same resource pool. In any case, the odd recent questionable update has certainly not been caused by a lack of resources.

Minecraft General
If you want absurd amounts of cobblestone, strip-mining at/near bedrock is the way to go. That way, you can pretty quickly strike diamond, make a diamond pick, and therefore get cobblestone faster. Keep 3 blocks between each strip if you make more than one.

Giant Earthquake hits Japan
don't act like you know a lot about something when you dont :shame: i watched a lame youtube video and got obsessed for like a week a few years back lol. mayan calenders the popular way of presenting it. what the calander is based on (i think) is the cycles of our earth and other planets alignment in the universe. 2012 is the date when the planets and sun line up with the black hole in the centre of the universe (i think), its definately when all of our planets and sun are aligned. in fact its the first time in 26000 years. its also around the time that this cataclysmic solar storm is predicted, as well as being around the time our poles are due to shift. its very possible that some crazy thing is going to happen that we have no clue about because it hasn't happened in recorded history. there are a load of other things ill try and remember, like famous prophets (which i dont really believe).. i dont think the world gunnaa blow up, i definately dont think we're gunna be wiped out. im not really sure if anythings going to happen, but it easily could. but yeah dont just brush it off as a myth when you don't know what the calender is based on. its just as annoying as people who state 2012 as fact. Sorry, but please don't act as if you know what you are talking about when you have watched a little youtube video or looked at some internet sources. When I have done a year long module on Mayans and Classic Central Mexican civilisations with lectures specifically on the calendar, number systems and their relations to mythologies for my degree, I actually do know what I'm talking about. The Mayans did not predict the world would end in 2012, FACT. Things may happen in 2012, just as any other year interesting things happen. but yeah, don't act as if you know what you're talking about. [/hide] i know i dont know what im talking about, thats why i keep saying i think, i also know that the mayans didnt predict the end of the world. never said i thought they did. as i said the calenders just a popular way of presenting it. it is true that all our planets are going to be aligned for the first time in 26000 years. FACT. lol i never said you don't know the specifics of the mayan calender(actually i did) i didnt mean it like that tho. did they teach you about the alignment of planets and eliptical spheres and all that crap im not gunna pretend to understand, because thats what really matters. and you obviously dont know very much about it other than mayan calenders., to just wipe off as a myth based purely on the fact that the mayan calender doesnt predict it. also i swear theres been a massive problem with deciphering anything to do with the mayans. im not 100% sure but i remember reading it somewhere. and reading internet sources can be just as good as reading a book. knowledge is knowledge in whatever format  What on earth are you trying to say then? And could you please capitalise your sentences, it's a pain to read. Can't we leave the 2012 stuff until next year? Have you guys heard about those people who are blocking off nuclear power plants in Germany that need work to have their lives extended, because they say that the Japanese plants are 'proof' that nuclear power is too risky and uncontrollable? I have a special place in my heart for the Greens. It's next to chavs and Sarah Palin. http://www.bbc.co.uk...europe-12724981

Giant Earthquake hits Japan
Well, this is a forum, so we're more equipped to deal with dodgy opinions than dodgy nuclear reactors. Still, I've never actually seen a post from someone that this was 'payback for pearl harbour', past easily fakable images of Facebook posts, so I doubt it's as widespread as people claim it to be. Hang on, wasn't Pearl Harbour, like, 70 years ago? How on earth can you 'forgive' someone when you don't even remember it? If these posts are actually true, this is a fine example of why you should not teach patriotism to children. EDIT: Also, it amuses me when they say that the dust cloud from the explosion is 'radioactive' but not to the extent that it could harm humans. I wonder if they know that pretty much everything on earth is radioactive but not to the extent that it can harm humans?
