  1. damn you Daan. I've seen that before but I can't remember where :(
  2. this good enough for you :P ok, since no one seems to know it yet... and... Anyone know now :x
  3. from stills :D Edit: Since Matt has taken the switch to guessing movies OR actors from stills, then I figured I better update the rules a bit :P If you go with the actor, blur the face(s) in the still and have multiple stills if need be. Check out Matt's post on pg 9 I think it is to get a rough idea of what i'm talking about. Ah yeah, daan already did a 'guess the actor' earlier but meah, it wasn't in a state of people not being able to guess the movies at that stage :x And just to start with something simple to get the topic moving... Note to mods: If this is spammish... give me tips to not make it spammish m'kay

You gotta be kidding right? Nobody I know can whistle the same way using their fingers. It is all slightly varied from person to person :x With that, my guide is simply, trial and error till you get a whistling sound. Then just refine the technique :P Sorry, no pictures for you since it'd just be a continual string of images with fingers in various positions going... "then blow... get a sound? nope.. try another postion"
  5. Bash > * I'd post some quotes... but the best of them would kind of break half of TIF's rules regarding race, religion and like mature content
  6. I live in Australia :P Summer isn't for another 2 months or something ;)
  7. wb to TIF KnightLite. I see suffering from a stroke or whatever less a week before your trip to basketball camp didn't seriously mess you up. Either that or someone was just making up [cabbage]. Anyhow, stupid thing I've done during the "summer" was going swimming at the cedar creek falls. Middle of winter in boxers at like 2am
  8. Petrol jumped 15c in the liter a few days ago here in Australia DESPITE the fact that Katrinya's impact shouldn't have been felt for another week at least. Petrol companies just jumped the gun to profit on it early :x
  9. I can't remember where the xbox came in comparison to the PS3, but someone worked out that the PS3 would be (using the raw data that Sony published) the 40th (roughly) most powerfull computer in the world. Which was somewhere between US Military racks. IF the Xbox is anywhere near the PS3 by raw data then don't get your hopes up. They both over-hyped the last gen and couldn't live up to it. And they seem to have done it again. Also, remember that it will be done to the game engine to get the most out of the hardware. And in a lot of cases they won't even touch the upper limits claimed by microsoft. Also, search OT for 'xbox 360'. Lot of discussion has been put on it before.
  10. Opera is holding it's 10 year online party now and for some time (I don't know how long) they are giving away free registration codes. So if the only reason you haven't been using Opera is because of the Ad, now is the time to get a registration code without effectively 'stealing' one :P Happy B-Day Opera :D
  11. How about some more information on the scope of it? And like size, etc. More details would be nice.
  12. I pretty much agree with Matt. Although in some sad cases, even your kids don't both visting your grave. I know my grandma can't even be bothered to see her husbands grave more than once every 3 years and she only goes then because mum makes her :ugh:
  13. Not really, the main problem is the query execution time on the database server. not displaying avatars and or signatures will only speed render times up if you have a slowish connection.
  14. That they are. And in most cases subtle changes which you really wouldn't expect to effect the performance of a forum all that much. At least not compared to other more obvious choices (like the search word table).
  15. Some of the best tweaks are where you least expect to find them ;)
  16. I would doubt that it would be possible as a result of ball-body contact. body-body or body-stationary_object contact on the other hand could do it if the impact was bad enough but I wouldn't bet on it being permanent.
  17. Aye, that is why I don't have plans to donate. My motivation would be to keep ARENAscape running nicely but like I asked last time, it would go to tip.it as a whole :x So you just can't seem to win, donate to one, donate to all.
  18. Heh, those damn activists are out [bleep]ing up again I see.
  19. You would've hated by high school. Almost EVERY subject was 80-100% graded through EXAMS ONLY. Assignments were never really heavy on your grades unless it was a more pratical subject. But even then it was still 50%+ from exams :P And I still don't get the American education system, is college and university the same thing :-? From what I can gather they do they same thing. It's just in college you can't get a masters or doctoral degree? that's the impression I get anyways. But in Australia you go to Uni, get a degree then if you have the grades you can persue a masters / phd / whatever. And then there is TAFE which you can attend if your OP / Rank wasn't good enough to get into a uni or whatever. And from that you'll get one of the following: Certificate I Certificate II Certificate III Certificate IV (these are usually reserved for 6month or less courses) Diploma (this is what you usually do) Advanced Diploma (then can do this) in whatever field you happen to be studying. And you can then use that to accelerate your placement in a degree, by applying for recognition of prior learning (usually 4 semesters for diploma and 2 for certs), if you wish. *shrug*
  20. hyperthetically they could clean out the search words tables and whatnot. that DOES speed up the forum somewhat.. but at a comprimise.
  21. I was lucky. I setup my uncles in his garage, so I only had like 4 opaque windows* to cover. I just got some heavy curtains and staple gunned them to a wood frame which you can slide into place over the windows. *windows are about 30cm by 120cm
  22. This setup belongs to my uncle but I pretty much worked out the components he should get. Sony VPLHS50 Projector STRDE497S Amplifier SAVE835ED 5.1 Sub Satelite Speaker System RDRHX710 DVD Recorder I think that was everything  It pisses all over the setup my family has: Sony 120cm Widescreen HD LCD STRDE497S Amplifier 5.1 Sub Satelite Speaker System (don't think our set is made anymore) DVD / VHS player
  23. I seriously wouldn't be suprised if Australia comes within a couple of hundred :P And meah, even if we lose we're still the best team in the world ;)
  24. In regards to the above, most of my friends have: A bench press. ~100kg in disks a set of dumbles Works well for them. I can't see how anyone could need anything else? I can also vouch for the machines in gyms resulting in an out of proportion body. After a month I was pressing a good 200kg with my legs. Arms / upper body had next to no change after 2 months. It's odd.
  25. So in other words you just see the wall? Damn that's awesome ;)
