  1. ok bmw. When you get your new sig, I'll try and remember to use your new name ;) But I'll still quote your posts as "bmw" though :P
  2. I guessed the password for the Science department at my school once (no suprise there - network admin had 0 security on anything: admin/admin; english/english; science/science; etc). Anyhow, poked around the account a bit. Found the exams for every science subject. Printed off 30 copies of each to every printer in the school. Had to postpone the exams for a week to rewrite all the exams
  3. Takes my sister just under 2 minutes to do one with both hands. But 1-handed is just insande. Bets on that guy going crazy eventually.
  4. Ironically the Omega drivers solved almost all problems I had with my 9800 pro :P But that aside, I wouldn't quite put it down to overheating. Looks to be more of a memory leak. Mainly since it so far only happens coming out of hibernation. Get MemTest and run a scan or two (just to be sure or something). If that comes back clear then keep note of any other blue screens and exactly what you were doing when they happened. I highly doubt it's a HDD failure but you never know sometimes :-?
  5. It's not really that hard. Only real problems I ran into was getting the string right and the bolt weight right. The rest is pretty straight forward.
  6. Cron Jobs basically runs a script (or such) at whatever time you specifiy. Example: You might set it up to run a script to increase all turns by 1 or 20 .. or something like that every 5 minutes or so.
  7. I made a crossbow once. That was fun. Now it's out at my uncles place since that's the only place I can use it without getting busted for owning an illegal weapon :-? :x
  8. Other than iTunes (I don't like it for some reason :P) Ripping: CDeX Burning: Nero

I'd be watching it if I had cable tv. Got taken off free-to-air a while ago :(
  10. KOF2002's Omega Rugal. Damn can that guy be a pita. Angel makes quick work of him though :D

Very good point ;) As for the is murder wrong thing. I'd break out the Ethics graph to show you were I think it is but basically it will usually fall in the illegal half of the grid and where it is along the morality axis is dependant on the cause for the action. Which reminds me... Everyone follows one of the following: - Relativism - Universalism - - Consequentialism - - - Utilitarianism - - - Non-Utilitarianism - - - - Egoism - - Deontologism - - - Kantianism And depending on which one those applies to you, that will effect your decision on the original "is murder wrong" question. Too complex to make a call ther than your own on almost everything to be able to call 'absolute' unless you happen to be refering to one of those exclusivly absolute sitations :P
  12. There's more to design than graphics. And AS is not harder than HTML / CSS/ Javascript to learn. I picked it up in less than a day. Another month later I was making games in it. Another month and I probably could've bee capable of creating decent flash "websites" which would take a lot more time and skill to make using raw web languages. And you need good graphic skills for HTML websites aswell you know. Most flash "websites" are bloat features which do nothing than increase "wow factor". That's the only thing which makes them "harder" to create. Strip out all the bloat features and you got what? A background, a few buttons and some text. And another thing, is you are required to load the entire flash movie whether or not you want to. That itself is a very big design flaw. Flash Movie != Website* But whatever floats your boat I guess. *Where website is a collection of HTML pages.
  13. When it comes to design as per the topic, flash will lose instantly. All the website is is a basic HTML document with an embeded object. Zero demonstration of real www design skills what-so-ever. @Keiphus: - 2advance violates 3 of the Grice Maxims. And PARC principles are very loosly followed. @GSW: That's a good site. If anyone wants an example of real web design skills, this is a site to look at. @venomai: thing is that actionscript isn't a web programming language. It's a multimedia authoring language and a rather easy one at that to pick up. As for the HTML, css, java, etc for a flash site -> BS. It's one HTML document with the embed and that's it. www design stops there and multimedia kicks in. Personally people who create flash "websites" would be better suited to advertising or the entertainment industry, not web design. --- Firstly, Flash should be, at most, used for banners and subtle effects. The bulk of any website should be a markup language which validates to a w3c standard. I personally don't like to judge most sites since I really only care about content and not how great it looks. Given that I really have to still stand with Google and Bash.org being two of the best designed sites I have come across. And with the site Wyrm put up, I've got my top 3. Chances are there are others that I'm forgetting but meah.

Indeed. It's there, there's just nothing to recieve it in its audio form. You can say the same thing about light... Does light exist if there is no one around to see the source? Damn straigh it does.

There is no universal standard for morality since Morals are based on opinion. So they really can't be absolute unless you consider opinions to be.
  16. ____ replied to insane's topic in Off-Topic
It's either absolute or it's not. There are no exceptions to that rule. And I don't quite get your last line. You say, in your opinion, that moral truths are objective then finish up saying they [implied] are absolute. @DBP: Willing to bet that "other kid" lost out hard, yeah ;)

Link to portfolio or I'm calling BS on anything you claim to be able to do.

I sleep with my watch on sometimes.
  19. Usually I don't laugh. Occasionaly I'll laugh when I use lmao / rofl but that's about it. When they are in caps, then I acually did laugh :P
  20. ____ replied to insane's topic in Off-Topic
Truth, IMO, is scalar. Only only a few things make it all the way to either end :P
  21. ____ replied to Futurama's topic in Off-Topic
I get that when my arms have been resting on an uneven surface for a period of time. Chances are you were just sleeping on the arm or something and the sheets or whatnot was creased a bit :P
  22. I'd pay someone to let me do that
  23. Doubtfull. Guy did everything possible given the conditions.
  24. How about for free* :P * Chances are alcohol wouldn't have to get involved either
  25. I ripped off an entire assignment once. Only thing I did was put in comments. Everything else was exactly the same as the original. They never picked it up. Suprising aswell considering the fact that they were marked by the same person. *shrug* Other than that I haven't cheated on much. Might've etched a few things into the desks at school before an exam just in case. There's been the occasional time where the teacher has left things up on the wall (like periodic tables and whatnot) which have helped. That's basically about it.
